I've bought several pistols from Hoffman's over the last several years. I've found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful. And while the prices aren't cheap, they are competitive. You can always find things cheaper online, but it's just not the same and you're always taking somewhat of a chance. more

Large, varied selection. Prices are not typically competitive, (especially compared to Internet vendors), unless you catch them during a big sale. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. more

I have heard a lot of criticism about Hoffy's, but in the grand scheme of things, they do a good job. They sure do sell a lot of Ruger, and they have a habit of winding up Ruger's #1 Dealer of the Year. \r Their salesmen are knowledgeable and helpful, and that helps a lot when you do get to talk to one. I have never been treated discourteously, although they are very, very busy. Hoffman's didn't get to be the size they are by accident. They may not be the only place to shop, but they should definitely be on your list. more

Wow! I went there for the first time this week and I thought the employees were terrific! Being a newbie to guns(pistols anyway) and a woman to boot, I was afraid that they would treat me like I was stupid but they were wonderful. Answered my ton of questions, patiently, showed me various pistols for my needs without being too pushy and were supportive. I will be taking my permit class there in a few weeks. Love that you can try out pistols on their firing range for $10 for 10 shots. Also a neighbor found some old ammo in her basement that her late husband had left years ago. she didn't know what to do with it so she took it to Hoffmans and they took it and disposed of it for her, no problem. Price wise they seem average to other places I have looked around. more

At any rate, customer service was wonderful and very friendly. I purchased some range time for hubby, $25/hour seems very fair to me. They were also very kind to my 3 children, who were gawking at the taxidermy heads all over the store. We got a lot of kind smiles and ""Hello there!"" from the staff. In what could have been a very uncomfortable, testosterone soaked encounter, I left a happy customer. more

I have shopped Cabela's, Riverview and Hoffmans. To be very honest Hoffman's has the nicest people there, most of the other guys are very helpful and processing the paperwork there is, for some reason, much much faster than Cabela's. I have found the guys at Hoffman willing to go out of their way to assist your where Cabela's the guys behind the gun counter are not helpful at all. You always feel rushed there, plus, at Hoffman's you can actually handle the guns at your leisure. Their prices are somewhat lower. My recommendation would be shop Hofffman first..You probably won't have to go any further. more
