SWINDLERS! 2/12/2009

I am embarrassed to think about how much money these guys have taken me for. Their only concern is to sell you as many parts as possible. They replaced just about everything possible on my heating unit--which THEY installed-- and still didn't resolve my problem. Their solution? ""Don't spend any more money on THIS unit, scrap it and buy a new one! From us, of course. Yeah, so what if your unit is only an 8 year old Lennox. Get rid of it!""\r I called another company for a second opinion (something I should have done a lot sooner) and it turns out that there was nothing wrong with my system, only the way that the exhaust vent was installed (by Comfort Experts). When there is a strong wind event, like we had had just the night before, it created a negative pressure which caused the pressure switch to close. The fix? Reset the switch by turning the unit off, then on. That's it.\r I'm so furious with this company, I can hardly stand it! Run Like the Wind From Hobson/Comfort Experts!!!!!!! 11/16/2008

Tinman 53 is obviously a Hobson/Comfort Experts goon. This is the worst mechanical company in the state. Just check out BBB-Ft Worth. Over 120 complaints. They try to say their size is reason for their incompetence. Their employee turnover rate is over 100% yearly. This is for installers, technicians, and office and sales personal. I have over 30 years in the HVAC industry and made the mistake of believing their lies and promises. After 8 months of being cheated out of sales commissions I left for good. They force all employees to attend Tom Hopkins Sales Seminars to help them fleece unsuspecting customers. Your pay is based on what you can sell, not your technical ability. You don't lie and sell people ""club"" memberships and unneeded parts-you starve. They have a file a mile long at the TX Workforce Comm and Att Generals office for unpaid wages. Do your self a favor and NEVER allow this bunch on your property. Unless of course you want to help pay for the owners private plane. That is all he really cares about. Facts vs Fiction 10/30/2008

Jaycee713.\r It's obvious you worked, or tried to work for Hobsons, its simple, Hobsons only works for people that work. You have several ""facts"" incorrect. A comment about buying a ac unit on Ebay shows just how little you paid attention in sales class. It clearly show in the sales books that the equipment is around 25% of the price, so $3800 cost, plus freight of $200 gets your cost of equipment to $4000. which is 25% of $16,000. Just a thought, what do you buy a dozen eggs for? But you can pay over $8 at Dennys for 2 eggs and some other stuff, the final price is not always the cost...but it is easy to tell your a smart guy. As far as how Hobson takes advantage of their employees and customers should be discussed as well. ALL customers that elect to do business with Hobson signs a contract which clearly states what is to be completed. Now when a ignorant sales person that has not taken time to study and understand how to sell an ac unit promises that the customers new ac can keep the whole neighborhood cool, or maybe will work for free and then forgets to write that information on the contract (lies to customer) is found out and asked to leave the company, just how is that the companys fault? People looking for a job do not always tell the truth, bad hires are made, as soon as one is discovered they are removed. As far as not being paid by the company the only way that can happen is if you did not earn the money. ALL money is paid to all employees that are owed money, our government sees to that. So if you have a real claim, file it. Hobsons is the largest residential HVAC company in DFW. IF they srewed all customers just how do you think that they have grown so large? Yes mistakes are made, and mistakes are corrected....but some customers are like you Jaycee713, liars, cheats and thiefs that can only exist in the shadows....never can exist in the light. NEVER CALL ON HOBSON 7/26/2008

Our air cond. went out on Monday, I called Hobson/comfort experts at 5:30pm. I was told tha someone would be out in 2-3 hours. At 9:55pm the tech. showed up and after looking at my unit said that my capacitor had gone out, but he did not have one on his truck. He called another tech that was in the area and I was told that he had the correct part and could be at my house in 15 min. An hour and 20 min. passed and I had the tech call the second tech back, who said that he had to stop and get gas and would be out in 15 min.??? At this point I expressed my dissapointment about being lied to. The part finally arrived and I was told that my unit was up and running, the time now was 11:50pm. and the temp. inside my home was at 92 degrees.\r I paid 220.00 and the service tech. left. at 1:05am our house was still at 92 degrees, I went outside and our compressor was not working. I called Hobson back and was told that they could resend a tech out in the morning. I told them that this was not an option, and Mike, the person on call hung up on me twice. I finally got him to say that someone would be out within the hour. At this time, I dropped my family off at a hotel. The original service tech came back at 2:20am and proceeded to work on my unit. At around 3:00 am he came and told me that a wire had come loose on the capacitor that he installed and it was now working. Hobson's invoice says in bold letters ""FIXED RIGHT OR IT'S FREE"" I called back the next day and have recived a huge runaround, no one will return my calls, and when I ask to speak to a supervisor they are either not in, or on the other line.\r \r before you use these guys, check the Better Business Beureau, they have an unsatisfactory rating due to the large number of complaints against them. THREE APPOINTMENTS AND NEVER SHOWED 6/13/2008

The first appointment was supposed to be between 11:00 and 2:00 on a Sunday. I got a call and was told that they don't make appointments from 11:00 to 2:00, that it was for 12:00 to 4:00. They said they were running late but would be there. Then at 6:00 they called to say they might be able to make it around dark, but no promises. So, I rescheduled.\r \r The day of the second appointment they just plain never showed. No phone calls, nothing. I called them the next day and they acted like it was no big deal, like there was nothing wrong and rescheduled again.\r \r The third day we were scheduled for 2:00 to 6:00. At 4:00 in the afternoon, I got a call stating that they were scheduled for 4:00 to 8:00 and that we were next on the list. They said they'd call when the technician was on his way. At 6:00, I got a call saying that the technicial was on his way and in Plano. We're in far north Dallas, which means that it should have only taken him 15 to 20 minutes. It's now 7:20 pm and they're still not here. Don't expect them to ever show and no matter what they say, they're not getting our business. Avoid Like the Plague-They are the Very Worst 3/26/2008

This is without a doubt the most despicable, dishonset, and incompetent bunch of human beings that I have encountered in my 55 years. Fell for fancy advertising they send out constantly. Free energy audit. Yeah right. This is only a ploy to gain access to your home for one of their slick salesman or no nothing technicians{?}. They will promise you the world and you will only get the shaft. Lied about unit to be installed. Lied about installers. Sent out a bunch of illegals to install. My grandson could have done a better job. Lied about warrany. Lied about city inspection. Had a Citi credit card issued to us without even asking. No, I repeat no customer service. No significant energy savings as promised. After receiving no calls after 13 attempts called Better Business. Turned out they have the worst rating possible. Over 60 complaints. Should have called them first. They are worst than the lowest siding sales company you have ever encountered. Several company names. Hobson, Hobson A/C, Comfort Experts, Comfort Genius. I wish I'd read these reviews before I purchased an A/C unit from these people. They talk a good game about superior service for superior price and the only thing they were honest about was the overpriced service-which was terrible! Avoid this company 10/11/2007

Hobson Air Conditioning, Comfort Experts, AC Genius...take your pick, they are all the same company with the same horrible business practices. We were solicited by this company to come out and give us a so-called free estimate. They took a credit card out in our name without our permission and overcharged it . This was all before we even called them out to install the system! (We did not find out about the credit card until four months after they installed the system.) They never had our unit inspected by the city as promised and left our heat strips on, which resulted in astronomical bills. They will not honor their guarantees or promises. They have very questionable business tactics and no ethics whatsoever! Please do your homework before ever even considering hiring these people. I would hate for anyone to have deal with the nightmare this company has caused for us! Pros: They smile alot. Cons: They lie alot. more

I contracted to purchase an AC system from this company. They promised a certain brand and quality. They never installed the agreed equipment and failed to honor any of the promises made in their sales presentation. They fail to honor their guarantees (money back, etc). The financial loss was bad but it was not near as bad as the amount of grief and time lost that we have had to go through. Please be careful. Be careful they go by more than one name (they are also Comfort Experts Inc).
