I've been using Comfort Experts since they installed my unit and have never had reason to complain about any part of their service. I am always very pleased with every aspect of this company! I highly recommend Comfort Experts! more

Had a Tune-Up done today. It was like taking my HVAC system to the doctor for a physical. My technician Roy had a great attitude and was very helpful in answering all of my questions. I even signed up for the Platinum Plus program! Thanks Comfort Experts! more

Tony was here today to check my AC -- for the past week there was a noise that sounded like a helicopter landing whenever the unit was on. Fortunately the cause of this noise turned out to be something minor and Tony quickly identified and fixed it. Like the other Comfort Expert associates that have come out for the tune-ups etc. Tony was very professional and courteous. I always appreciate the explanations of the problem and solutions -- I learn something each time. Thanks for the consistently great service!\r more

Heath, Brian, Greg and all of the guys that are here today installing our new equipment have gone above and beyond the call of duty to keep my husband and I cool these past 5 incredibly hot days. Thanks guys. We appreciate you so much. more

I just wanted to send along a note to you to let you know what a great job Thomas and Justin did today installing my whole new A/C Unit. They got right to work when they arrived and finished with it in a much shorter time than I had even imagined it could be done. They were courteous, cleaned up the area and were very pleasant young men to have around. \r more

Rob was at our home today and was a courteous, expedient, and polite young gentleman that represents your company well. Thanks for your rapid service and I appreciate your representative being so timely.\r more

The tech that completed our service on May 4, 2012 was very knowledgeable and made suggestions without being pushy. We have been with Comfort Experts for years and would recommend a maintenance program with them to everyone.\r more

Hope you have better sense than to use them. 7/27/2011

None of these complaints surprises me. Why you might ask?\r I am a former service technician for Comfort Experts / Hobson.\r \r These people are scammers. I was out of work and found an advertisment posted by Comfort Experts for service techs and that they would train. So, I figured why not, I had a background in electronics so I figured I would do okay. I mean they advertise their techs make up to 100,00 a year and this would be just what I needed to provide for my family and get myself out of the large debt I had accumulated.\r First came a general group meeting to tell you about the company and give them an opportunity to run a background check on me. I was okay with that since I am a standup guy. During this meeting, you are told the only facial hair you can have is a gay looking mustache. The next step was a group interview with some of the managers and technicians to see if you are acceptable to them. The team leader Ralph, showed us part of the film ""Glengarry Glen Ross"". Very bizarre. I made the ""cut"" and began training. Fast forward six weeks and I am now a full fledged HVAC technician who is given a broke down van with no air conditioning (ironic). Sent out in the field with no EPA certification. This is a full commision position where I am expected to sell more

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE 2/24/2011

2 years later and still waiting for them to come fix a problem they charged me for and did not complete the job. They tell me they are sending someone out then when the AC Tech shows he says he is schedules for a maintenace check. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! more

""Techs"" are on a commission plan! (part 3 of 3) 2/2/2011

In summary, if you call Hobson/Comfort Experts, they will not be sending a tech to your home. They instead will send a salesperson trained to sell things you don't need. And here's an important fact to keep in mind: The salesperson is compensated based on commission. If that individual is going to make anything close to a descent living, he/she must sell.
Hobson runs an unethical business. I have since found ethical operations in Burleson Air as well as One Hour Heating. more

Crooked as Snakes 10/16/2010

Like the rating says ""Run, don't walk"" away from this company. This company pressures their techs to sell unnecessary goods. They are verbally abusive toward the employees who don't bring in enough ""extra"" sales money. The honest techs don't last long here. I read another review where a former employee said they should change their name to ""Robson's Cheating & Air"". I had an old unit at my old house in Denton and the company I used there NEVER tried to up-sell me. That's why I and many of my friends used them over and over again. You should take a lesson Hobson. Treat your employees and customers politely and fairly and they will keep coming back. You will have so much business from word-of-mouth that you won't be reduced to trying to sell your customers things they don't need. I mean, what sort of business are you running? Are you so inept that you can't even patch up at least SOME of the older units to keep them running a few more years? Most techs worth their salt can. more

Past horrible 6/8/2010

The most dishonest company I have ever encountered, and I lived in NYC for quite a while where tactics such as theirs are fairly common. Among other things, after making a deal for one price they ended up tripling it. If you check their Better Business Bureau rating it will be pretty obvious. They got an ""F"". Run for your life from these people. Pros: none whatsoever Cons: consistently break their agreements more

NEVER use this company! 6/4/2010

This company tried to swindle my dad into buying an entirely new system, after sabotaging his old one. \r My dad's A/C system is 8 years old. It stopped working one day and he called Comfort Experts out to check it. The rep came out around midnight that night, checked around and said there was a short in the outside unit- a new unit would have to be purchased. Another rep came out the next day and tried to sell my dad a $17,000 system. He seemed shady so we sent him away and called another company, Aaron's A/C, for a 2nd opinion. The man from Aaron's looked at the outside unit and told us that wires had been cut-- explains the ""shorted circuit"" I suppose. I had wondered why Comfort Experts would be willing to come out after midnight. Turns out our compressor was the cause of the original problem, the same compressor that had been ""repaired"" by Comfort Experts a mere 3 weeks before it completely stopped working. This whole thing seems like a scam to me. Tell everyone you know to never, ever go to this company! more

change the name to robsons cheating and air 4/18/2010

i was employed by this terrible company for a long time. i was lied to and cheated out of alot of money.first lets start with sales lol. they promised 5% comissions on sales then in the middle of knowhere they change it to 0%. these guys rip people off on a daily basis. the only way they stay in business is one of the owners has a degree in advertising. they promote fake products that do not do anything to save energy. i was instructed by ralph to tell customers on a daily basis to replace there equipment when it was absolutely unnecessary to do so. many of the jobs were simple fixes on older equipment but the team leader refused to let technicians do so. i watched as this company ruined many many co workers lives and reputations by firing for no aparent reason or giving one. the prices are ridiculously over priced. anyone can go online and find the same exact parts for one tenth of the asking price hobson charges. they claim fixed right or its free but if it screws up they do not give refunds and if they do so they take it out of the techs paycheck. there are so many things wrong with this company to list. but nothing will ever change with them including there reputation until the tyrannical brett is bought out or replaced by brian. these guys do so many illegal things that i witnessed. including causing carbon monoxide readings on older style gas furnaces by blocking return air. killing compressors with products claiming to lower amp draws. slugging compressors, punching holes in coils, cleaning rusty coils with intense cleaner causing leaks. so many things to list including most of the techs do not carry an epa license or a r410a saftey course completion card. recovery equipment or anything. they vent the r22 into the air which is illegal.these guys need there licenses taken away and be shut down for good. they fired me for refusing to sell uneeded parts to an elderly woman on welfare. i refused to take advantage of an old woman and they fired me for it, says alot for there integrity, or should i say lack of. very bad company, every tech is dishonest and trained to do so. they are not hourly employees, 100% comission, so if they try to sell you anything tell them you want a second opinion and call another company. i would bet money that its never as bad as they claim it to be.incompitent techs make great salesman. Pros: none Cons: liars, cheats, theives, con men more

This company can really stick the screws to you! 10/22/2009

2002 I, bought a system from Hobson,$7000.00 They screwed up all duct work, would not respond to phone calls for service, and had the nerve to sue me for non-payment,They won by default, They wont make it right so I still wont pay them. They must be in someones pocket. Steven S. Heise Watchdog! Pros: Fast talkers/tell you anything! Cons: Worst contracters you could ever have in your home! more

Avoid this company! 9/15/2009

Every time this company comes out to do one of their ""tune-ups"", they say something else needs to replaced. Something that cost hundreds of dollars.\r \r This is every time they come out.\r I called them on it the last time, but went ahead and got the thing done, they said I needed.\r \r I wish I had read all the reviews on the internet before I agreed to the $181.00 thing they said I needed.\r \r I am cancelling my business with this company.\r \r Pros: None. Cons: Swindlers more

Worst A/C company in the DFW metroplex 7/1/2009

Three years ago I purchased a home in which Hobson's had recently installed a new A/C and furnace, and the previous owner had also purchased a maintenance agreement (spring and fall tune-ups) for $192.00 a year. While I was agreeable with keeping the maintenance contract going, it took two and three calls a week FOR SIX WEEKS to get a copy of the contract - I was unwilling to sign up without knowing what was and was not covered. I was frustrated with Hobson's absolute incompetence and their inability to mail (or email) a copy of the contract. I was repeatedly told they'd ""just put it in the mail"" or ""it would go out in tonight's mail"", and of course it never arrived. Finally I asked to speak with the owner (surprise - he was not available), so I left a message for him and two days later the contract arrived by certified mail. In spring 2008 I asked Hobson's for their price to add blow-in attic insulation (1500sf home) and was quoted $1100.00. After looking around a little, I found a small local company that did it for me and only charged $400.00. Fast forward to today (summer 2009), and I'm looking for ways to trim my budget. A very good company I dealt with in the past - Brown A/C in Richland Hills offers the same spring & fall tune up service contract for just $142.00. I've recently signed a contract with Brown and terminated the contract with Hobson's. Hobson's has gotten their last penny from me. I recommend you find someone other than Hobson's to do your A/C and heating work. Research Angie's List for highly-rated service people - people like you and me rate companies and individuals for price, quality of work, reliability, punctuality, and also details of the work performed, problems encountered and resolutions reached. Cons: Over-priced, poor customer service more

inside information 3/5/2009

stay away very very far away! This place just destroys anyone it comes in contact with, customers and employees. I am not sure how they are still in business. office staff had to trudge around in unsafe working conditions wearing water boots while they walked through knee high water around electrical components. Customers are lied to and ""sold"" by any means necessary. staff are seen as dollar signs to upper management and are fired in an instant if for any reason they no longer like you. Staff is told to cold call people and practically beg them to let the company get into their home, in fact they are not allowed to hang up until they are told no 3 times. This is drilled into their heads. If someone says that they are on welfare and dying and that they cant even afford lunch they still had to continue their scripting ""I can certainly understand why you might not be interested but let me tell you a little about what we do..."" MOST UNETHICAL, UNCARING liars and cheats that my son ever had the displeasure of working for. PAY for employees is never right and is not fair from person to person. The job is a joke as is the service. Company stands behind nothing that they promise. Pros: umm cant think of any Cons: exactly they are all cons more
