I hadnt been to the Hilltop in years until last night. The last time I was there I may have possibly been eating off of the childrens menu so it could be as far back as about 15-20 years but I do remember good food and long lines neither of which were present this visit. My girlfriends father was in town from Florida on business and was told repeatedly by colleagues that he had to go to the Hilltop (I was skeptical due to recent reviews from family and friends) so we met him there for dinner. Yes, it was easy to park, we were seated immediately and the service was good though I guess it would be hard to be otherwise consdering we seemed to have two servers and we were asked everything and offered everything twice (which by the end of the meal was becoming annoying, we'd order desert and then the other waitress would ask if we wanted desert!). The three of us ordered steak, I had the sirloin tips and my girlfriend and her father ordered filets. None of us were impressed. The salads were sizeable but boring (basically just lettuce and onion). One of the filets was ordered well done and it arrived at the table rarer than my medium steak tips (which I ordered that way expecting them to actually be cooked medium rare based on the reviews I read and that was what I got so it worked out well for me). My tips were cooked the way I wanted them but the onions and peppers were overcooked and mushy. The rice pilaf was more like wild rice or long grain rice than pilaf and was very dry, I took one bite and was done with it. Even the quality of the steaks was not up to par, I could have cooked them better at home on the grill and could have gotten the same quality (or better) meat at the supermarket. Both of the filets were fatty and somewhat chewy, a far cry from what a filet should be and my steak tips were average at best, chewy and dry. . . I will not be retuning to the Hilltop nor will I recommend it to anyone!
Pros: parking and ability to accomodate large groups (its huge!)
Cons: the food
