I was under the impression that Dr. Palmatier had good experience in dealing with RATS, so I brought my rat in. (I saw a rat web page referral to him and the receptionist echoed that he had an expertise in this area.) He did not even know how to handle rats -- he started bending forward when she went onto his shoulder, so my rat was climbing down his back ... He seemed a bit of a faker, with respect to his dealings with rats. The technician who brought us in asked about vomitting -- which rats cannot even do. Then he echoed "no vomitting" as well when he came in to the exam room. I actually brought in two rats -- one to have tumor (my guess) removed and to have her spayed as well, and second rat to spay. He did not recommend spaying either, and the estimate for tumor removal surgery was $250 -- I got home and turned around and went back to get the rat, and found another vet who looks like she really knows rats, who said it may just be a cyst because of its location near tail, and who a
