Best

The Greek Cuisina downtown closed but there is still one in Tualatin. It has great Greek food and a cool atmosphere. I love the Calamari and the Gyros. Pros: Love the food ...

Worst

I like to play this game...go eat lunch by myself when I know the random restaurant has a tv and sports are on. Its fun for me. I wondered into Greek Cusina today (Sunday) at 1245...

Don't get deceived by the purple octopus 9/27/2006

Okay, I'll admit while walking around trying to find a place to sit down, eat, and get a drink; I was drawn to the giant octopus on the building. I don't usually fall for silly gimmicks like that, but it is a giant purple octopus. - I couldn't resist - Well, first I was told to sit anywhere for happy hour. So, I sat (with my significant other) at the bar in a booth. While sitting there I notice three waitresses whispering and looking at us. I had a feeling that they were not serving this section, but wanted to see how long it was going to take for one of the waitresses to get some guts and come tell us that. Of course that didn't happen, so I asked ""Should we be sitting somewhere else"", the waitress gulped in fear and barely got out ""yeah you have to sit upstairs"". I was not annoyed with this, more entertained. So, upstairs we went. I ordered the house ""margarita"", it was the most disgusting drink I have ever had in my life! If you don't like black liquorish, don't get this drink! The waitress was nice enough to give me something else and remove it from my bill. My significant other ordered a beer, which was flat; he drank it anyways because he didn't know when the waitress would be back (yeah service was slow - it wasn't that busy). We then ordered some dips since the happy hour menu wasn't very vegetarian friendly. The dips were okay, the bread was okay, I have had a lot better for a lot less. The atmosphere was silly. There were a lot of silk shirt types trying to be all cool - not really my style. So, if you are looking to get a bite and a drink, don't get fooled by the big purple octopus.....just keep walking. Pros: Big Purple Octopus! Cons: Bad service, bad drinks, average food more

Very slow and inattentive service 8/19/2006

I went to Greek Cusina last Thursday night for a friends Bachelorette party. I see why brides would want to go here, they do make it fun for her. That's about all this place has going for it. It took at least a half hour to get our drinks, and apparently our server didn't think anyone was hungry because he didn't take our order for about an hour and half after we got there. It was after 10pm when we finally ate. The server had giving my food to someone else at the table. When I asked where it was he said "" oh your friend was just trying a few bites to make sure it was good."" I didn't even know the girl. You would think he would have offered to get a new one, no he didn't. The food was okay, nothing special but not bad either. The majority of the girls at this party were food servers, were usually much more understanding if the servers busy and is working his but off. However, the server we had wasn't very busy, he was just standing around, not really paying much attention. It was obvious that he really didn't care about giving us good service at all. It was almost like "" I am adding an gratuity to this check anyway so why should I work to hard."" Pros: Fun for the Bride. Belly dancer was entertaining Cons: Bad service more

No shinny happy servers here. 8/17/2006

After trying a gyro plate at the Taste of Oregon, I had to check out the restaurant and take my husband along. The atmosphere was calm and we were able to enjoy our conversation. The food was great. The service was iffy. I do not like syrupy over cheerful servers, so I am not offended if they do not bounce over to the table, sit down and start chatting like we're old friends. But our server was borderline rude. He did answer our menu questions. He did keep our water glassed filled. He did bring our food while it was still hot. However, he made perfectly clear our substitutions for potatoes instead of salad were not welcome and he'd be very glad when everyone left and the restaurant closed for the night. If you can not let a huffy server spoil the atmosphere and food, I say go. If you are a fan of the shinny happy servers, maybe see if the do take out. more

Downtown Deli - No Consistency 6/4/2006

The Downtown Deli has lost its charm. When it first opened, the sandwiches were excellent, the salads average. Being a frequent customer, I have seen the consistency and quality of the food decrease. Because of heavy staff turnover and lack of training on the ingredient list in each menu item, you are lucky to receive what you actually order from their menu. more

Worst breakfast experience... 5/4/2006

One hour and fifteen minutes wait time for an omlette? Common!!! Seemed like place was run by highschool kids...Hostess looked barely old enough for a driver's license. Our waiter went MIA after bringing us some water....May be they do better during dinner time...But I doubt it.... Cons: Service more

How do you like your food thrown on the floor... 3/24/2006

After our order was thrown on the floor, and reported to us of this and that it is being remade... After waiting a total of 45 minutes from ordering, and 15 minutes from the dropping episode: Our food ""miraculously appeared"" fixed: Fixed included scooting the food into the middle of the plates, and cold. On discussion with the manager of the evening, he reported ""How do YOU want me to fix this... I can comp a few meals or I can redo the meals.. I can't comp everything. "" As if we wanted our money back or we were expecting a free meal... We asked the manager to remake our meals that were cold. He reported that it was going to take 30min to redo. Somehow 10min later the food returned: scooted around in the plates, and one dish even had the same food with the same exact bite removed. more

A big ""BRAVO"" from a real Greek 3/14/2006

Our first time to the Greek Cusina was a wonderful surprise. It was a weeknight so the place was not too busy, always a plus. Unsure of the food we ordered some classics such as dolmas, tiropita, and pastiso. All were authentically spiced and the pastitso was nearly perfect. My Yiya would approve. The service was just enough to be attentive but not too much or little, also highly appreciated. Perhaps the only element that I was unsure about was the strangely generic ""middle eastern"" sound to the house music in the dining area when I would have preferred the ""best of"" Mikis Theodorakis. Overall a wonderful dining experience in a great window booth. Greek approved! Pros: Authentic tastes, Booths, Service Cons: Music more

Probably the worst dining experience ever 1/4/2006

Considering the huge crowd and the nice menu we expected to be in for a treat. WRONG. The hummus we ordered for an appetizer was extremely bland and likely made from a powder mix. It got sent back. The wine was served warm like 10 minute old coffee. The helpful waitress let us know that red wine is supposed to be served warm. -Really? I though it was supposed to be about room temperature but what do I know. The entrees were also very bland and way overpriced. They may use air as their main seasoning. We wound up leaving in disgust and picked up some take-out on the way home instead. If you're lacking any tastebuds and are fine with paying $18 for bland shish kabobs then this place is for you. Otherwise stay away. Pros: Location Cons: Appetizers, Food, Drink more

Loved it as much second time 12/5/2005

My husband went for dinner and dancing and had a great time. I'd been there once before a few years ago and always wanted to go back. I loved my food but my husband is less appriciative of ""different"" kind of food. He was not in to the greek cuisine but liked the pita and hummus. The bellydancer is always fun and they had a few birthdays and a bachlorette party to celebrate. When the music started we danced for hours. Food was good and although we waited a little bit for our entree we always had pita and hummus and our sides brought quickly. Our waitress always came by to check on us. Pros: Enviroment, Staff, dancing Cons: a little expensive more

Great for happy hour. 7/18/2005

My boyfriend and I wen tor happy hour, the 2nd floor was air conditioned and the service was fast. The food on a scale from 1-10 was an 8. We shared the lamb bites (good but smallish portion), the dip sampler (excellent), and the kalimari (a tad overcooked, but not chewy which is worse) All of that and two beers was $15 at 6:30. Would not be worth it if everything had been full price..(over $25) Check it out for happy hour. Pros: food, service, value Cons: atmosphere ok, hot on 1st floor more

Worst experience ever 7/9/2005

I have never been to a worse restaurant. We were treated horribly, my order was messed up and everything was way overpriced. Also, there drinks are about as strong as a glass of apple juice. Cons: Manager, Food, Service more

Would higly recommend 7/6/2005

This was the first time I have eaten Greek food. The service was great, the food even better. When asking questions about the menu, each question was answered with a smile and full explanation. Was a wonderful eating experience, and was treated very well by all the staff. more

Worst service ever 7/4/2005

The staff was unbelivably rude, they messed up on the food and were unbelivably slow. I would never recomend this restaurant to anybody. It was so bad that we tryed to talk to the manger... the manager just yelled in my face and was a complete jerk!!! Cons: Service, Food, Price more

Great place! 6/19/2005

I have gone to the Greek Cusina two birthdays in a row. I enjoy the atmosphere because it's laid back and you don't feel like you have to be dressed to the nine's to fit in. The staff danced around with the patrons and I liked that as well. Two floors of dancing, both playing great music. It starts out with a very small crowd in the evening, but eventually fills up. I've never had a chance to break plates or eat there, but there's a good chance we'll try it sometime. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Slow at picking up more

Horrible service! 6/12/2005

My wife and I decided to stop in here for breakfast after a morning walk on a recent vacation. The place was fairly empty, but they seated us on the opposite side of the room from the rest of the customers. Took a long time for someone to take our order, and 10 minutes later, they came back to tell my wife the waffle maker was broken, it took that long to figure out? The worst part was waiting for the check, took over 30 minutes of waiting with nothing on our table! Food was just okay, nothing special. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Cons: slow service! more

Really bad service 6/4/2005

Myfriend and i ate at this establishment today and had the worst service in a long time. we had to wait for a long time for our food then our waitress just disappeared never to be seen again. When my friend wanted more coffee, he had to find another waitress and then it came to him cold. We asked for the check and waited 15 minutes for it to arrive. Then, we went inside and asked for it and spent another 15 minutes while they searched for it. We were getting ready to leave because they couldn't find the slip when they created another. Even though I have been here several times, this time the food was so-so (overcooked Greek sausage, etc.). I wouldn't recommend this to a friend again. more

1.5 HOURS for LUNCH 4/21/2005

Took 1.5 hours for lunch (1 hour to get, 10 minutes to eat, and 20 minutes to watch them try to figure out how to split a business lunch tab). Food was luke warm, soggy, and mediocre at best. Appetizers were served AFTER the meal and we were even served items we didn't order. Cons: SLOW, SLOW, SLOW more

An okay place 4/11/2005

I don't find this place very cozy. It's more of a family style restaurant, kinda loud. We were going to sit at the bar upstairs at first but when we went up there the place looked like a cafetaria set up and nobody served us so we went downstairs where the main dining area is to eat and have some drinks. The drinks were alright and the food was okay I'd say. We went at a time where there were only a few tables, our waiter seemed pretty nice though. But I wouldn't say this place is a romantic place at all, more like an eat and run place, not a place I can really get comfortable and stay for a while. We only had appetizers which were in pretty big portions but average taste. Pros: Big portion appetiz. Cons: Not a comfy place, Kinda loud more

Bad Bad Service! 11/28/2004

We have been here on two other occasions, before the dinner area was updated, and we loved it. We went back again a few days ago and cannot say the same. I doubt we will ever go back either, which is a shame. The food is really good, but the service was very poor. We sat there waiting for our order for about an hour, then others were served who got there after us. The waitress hardly came to our table to check on us or to apologize for our meal being late. We didn't get any water, and other waiters were filling in for her at our table, and it wasn't packed at all in there. We did complain and they gave us our entrees for free, so that is a plus. It seems such a shame as we loved going there. Pros: Good food more

Rude Staff 8/29/2004

We were ignored most of the evening. I only managed to get two drinks in two hours. I asked for my check twice but was ignored. On my way out of the establishment the head waiter elbowed the waiter in the ribs and said in a loud voice, ""You always get the good ones, don't you!"" Not only was the food overpriced and the wait staff rude and abrupt but I got the extra bonus of being embarassed and insulted on the way out of the restaurant. Not bad for only $16! Save your pride and go down to Burnside and visit Alexis, where the food is excellent and the service is wonderful. Pros: Ouzo Cons: , rude service more
