Best

The Greek Cuisina downtown closed but there is still one in Tualatin. It has great Greek food and a cool atmosphere. I love the Calamari and the Gyros. Pros: Love the food ...

Worst

I like to play this game...go eat lunch by myself when I know the random restaurant has a tv and sports are on. Its fun for me. I wondered into Greek Cusina today (Sunday) at 1245...

Wondering about one-star reviews... 3/2/2008

I have been to the Greek Cusina many times, and have only had one bad experience there. It was with a rude waiter, and I never encountered him before or since, so suspect he was not there long. That aside, all my meals there have been quite enjoyable, with good food, reasonable portions, a pleasant atmosphere and friendly, professional waitstaff. My food and drinks have always been delivered promptly, though I have waited as long as 25 minutes during very busy times; I have never had any problems with my order being incorrect or not fresh. I cannot speak to the authenticity of the food or the quality of their breakfasts (I'll have to try them), but I can say that it has always met or exceeded my expectations for the mid-range price, and is the reason I keep going back. That, and their wonderful dessert menu. At peak hours, particularly, the waitstaff is very attentive, and I have frequently received service from several people over the course of a meal. I have never had to wait for ""my waiter"" when I wanted anything, other staff are more than happy to bring whatever is needed, including the assigned waiter when an additional order is desired. To be frank, the level of service can be distracting, as staff can be a bit over-attentive, but that may just be my own preference. In the evening and on weekends, the atmosphere can get a bit rowdy, and is not necessarily the best place for a quiet conversation; lunch is much better for that. more

Worst dinner I have had in a while 2/19/2008

We went to Greek Cuisina last night with some co-workers from out of town. It was my first time there and a co-worker suggested we go. We sat down and it took almost 20 minutes for out waiter to show up. When he took our drink orders he completely skipped one person, and took another 15 minutes to show back up again with our drinks to order another one. After another 15 minutes or so he finally showed up with the final drink. The salads all *supposedly* had calamata olives, but between 6 salads we had exactly 2 measly little olives. They were out of a few of their items, and the food was very poor quality. The waiter at one point dropped a pair of tongs down one of our backs without even noticing. When we pointed it out he didn't even acknowledge it, he just grabbed them and scurried off. To make matters worse, as I was about finished with my beer I discovered a lemon seed in it. And to top it all of, my boss was up all night with abdominal pains and cannot make it in today. As I mentioned this was my first visit here and will definitely be my last. I strongly suggest anyone who is considering going here to avoid it at all costs - McDonald's would be a much better choice. Pros: Big Octopus Outside Cons: Everything Else more

Over priced, small portions, badly cooked and horribly slow service... 2/11/2008

We went to the Greek Cuisina to have a nice dinner before going to a show. We got there 2 hours before the show. The service was incredibly bad. We ordered appetizers and didn't get the entire order. We orderd food and it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive! We had to ask the waitress several times to get the Pita bread that was supposed to come with the Feta Dip we ordered. Pros: The water was tasty Cons: Pretty much everything else was substandard more

Fun place to dance 2/1/2008

Greek has 2 levels of great dance floors, the bar service is quick, and the atmosphere is upbeat. I went to Greek on a friday night around 10pm the place was packed, the line wasn't too long and the staff was friendly. The music was good and the VIP room was nice and relaxing. I'd go there again for sure! more

Surprised because of all the other reviews 12/17/2007

We had a reservation in the banquet room on a friday night. All of us had a great time, it was for a holiday work party. There was a greek guitarist, who was fantastic. The belly dancer was VERY entertaining and there was guest participation in the greek dancing and plate throwing. Pros: Great entertainment while eating Cons: parking more

Are you kidding me? 11/16/2007

One happy reviewer instructs people to ""...go to McDonalds for speedy food..."" if they don't like waiting, oh, an hour and a half for bland food. Funny thing is, McDonalds' food is not only faster, it's 10 times BETTER than the waaaaaay overpriced 'Greek cuisine"" they shovel at this place. I could make MUCH better food in my own kitchen for about $5.00 and I know NOTHING about Greek food. How can so many people give this place such a high rating? Those reviews must have all been written by the owner(s). Pros: The atmosphere wasn't terrible Cons: Everything else was more

Lousy Management and the Slowest, Most Incompetent Service coupled with Iffy Kitchen Service 10/5/2007

This place is a disaster area. The music is good but that isn't the only reason you go to a club or especially a restaurant. Pros: Specials are sometimes good. Cons: Owner and Management, Service, Parking more

Fun Greek experience 10/2/2007

The first & only time I've been to the Greek Cuisina was a few weeks ago for a friends bachelorette party. We had so much fun! We were upstairs in the room thats meant for parties & dancing. We didn't order alot of food, just appetizers & they were great! I recommend the hummus & pita bread! I don't remember what everyone else got, but I know they liked it. We also had drinks & danced w/ their portly, Greek, employee whom made us each get up & dance w/ him. It was a blast! We were able to purchase & break plates & taught greek dances. The service was prompt, granted there weren't alot of people there, but it was good. I would recommend this place for a party or just a fun time. Pros: fun time, good food Cons: can be kind of loud more

Why still 4.5 stars Citysearch? Worst service, so so food. 9/25/2007

After all of these bad reviews I have no idea why this place still has 4.5 stars, Citysearch? I have ben here two times, the first time the service was so so, took awhile to get anything, ordering, drinks, get the drinks, ordering food, get the food and then to get the check. What should have taken maybe an hour to an hour and a half took well over 2 hours. Pros: Good location Cons: Food, Service, basically everything more

Stay FAR FAR away from the Greek Cuisina 8/21/2007

I've ended up at the Greek Cuisina 2 weekends in a row now for the Taverna show - both times our parties were treated horribly! The service was slow, extremely rude and anything you had to say was brushed off and you were labelled as ""being difficult"". Our drinks were never refilled, we were never checked on and we were overcharged for our party for the entertainment and they refused to correct the check. Pros: We got out alive Cons: Parking, Staff and Service more

Harassment/ awful customer service/ poor management 8/13/2007

I have been there before and wasn?t not sure where to place this restaurant. I liked the music but hate the customer service and the attitude from the personnel in general. However, last Thursday night went there with my husband and two friends. I was the first person from our group on the line. I guy in front of me asked me for my ID. I gave it to him. FYI, I am way over 21 years old but somehow this guy started to doubt that. He told me my ID felt funny and until that point everything went ok. Then, he quickly learned that I was a Spanish speaking person same as him. He started talking to me in Spanish although I was asking him to speak in English because of politeness to the rest of my group. He declined and was asking me personal questions that have nothing to do with checking my ID, such as: Can show you a place where we can dance?. My husband asked him what the problem was. He told him that it wasn?t my husband?s business and felt empower to start yelling at my husband, We asked the guy for the manager and he told us that the guy next to him was the manager (the next day we called and turned out that he wasn?t the restaurant manager). We asked him to call the police, at this point we were all in shock by this guy?s behavior. He refused to call the police and denied the entrance to the place. WE ARE NEVER, EVER, GOING BACK THERE. Both, my husband and I called back and spoke to the restaurant manager and he told us that the incident was reported in a different manner and that he was going to investigate it, however, there was nothing he could do about it. I am telling you, you don?t want to go there. You would never know what to expect from this people. I don?t feel safe going there and I would like others to know about it because I would feel responsible if someone else experience this kind of treatment at the Greek cuisine. Horrible, horrible experience? Pros: nice decoration Cons: customer service, management more

Yummy! 7/23/2007

Very delicious food...gyros were wonderful and the salads are great too! Moderately priced and good wine! The atmosphere is very festive and fun and even dining alone was a good time. My only complaint is that the service is consistently slow, but usually the place is packed when I'm there, so they should probably just hire some more servers. All in all, a great place to eat. Pros: Great food, great prices, great wine Cons: slow service more

HORRIBLE customer service, AWFUL food! 7/5/2007

My boyfriend and I were starving so we decided to eat at the Greek. I have never ate there before, but I have partied there on the weekends... anyway. It took them 20 minutes to seat us, yet there were at least 5 open tables. Once we got seated, it took 10 minutes for our waiter to come out and greet us. He seemed very rushed, but the place was not packed what-so-ever. We ordered our food. He ordered the hummus plate with bread and a strawberry margarita and I ordered the penne pasta with a salad and a rootbeer. It took him 15 minutes to bring us our drinks, and he brought me an iced tea instead of a rootbeer. It then took him another 5 minutes to bring me my rootbeer. We waited at least 40 minutes for our food. The chicken in my pasta was way over cooked and they even forgot to bring me my salad.....we NEVER got checked on. NOBODY EVER asked us if everything was alright, or if our drinks needed to be refilled. I didn't even eat my pasta it was so gross...I complained to the manager. He said that we were his ""30th complaint tonight and he was very sorry"". While we were eating I saw at least 5 other people complaining about the same things we were having problems with.... A lady who was upstairs got a big cut in her arm from people upstairs who were having a bachelorette party they were throwing plates and breaking them. She had to get rushed to the ER.........I am NEVER EVER EVER going back to this place in my LIFE. I would NEVER reccomend this place to anyone!! Pros: Decorated nicely Cons: Bad service, slow service, awful food more

Good Happy Hour 5/3/2007

The Greek is a touch and go restaurant. Some days the service is fantastic, and other's it's horrible. I've waited 45 minutes to have my credit card returned to me, and argued with a waitress about splitting a check. But then I've also been seated promptly, had my food and drinks within minutes and back to the office before my lunch hour was up. Pros: Happy Hour Cons: Lunch service more

Don't Waste your time 4/14/2007

My husband and I went here a couple weeks ago. The service was very slow and the food was marginal at best. I felt bad because he was craving Greek food. He ordered the lamb and it was undercooked. We were sadly disappointed. We thought for the long wait for the food, it would at least be good. Even the appetizers were iffy at best. Cons: everything more

Avoid if planning to DD 1/5/2007

I was the designated driver for some of my friends one night. I spent about two hours sitting at a table and drinking a bottled water before I was approached by two ""bouncers"". They said the bartender had seen me smoking marijuanna (?!?) and told me to get out. It was so unbelievable!! First of all, I do not smoke cigarettes, let alone marijuanna. I had been sitting at a table right next to the dance floor, so it was fully lighted, there were no remnants of smoke in my area, and the only possible place I could have hidden something were my pant's pockets, which I emptied for them to reveal only my wallet and car keys. They said it didn't matter and that they had to follow what the bartender said. My group complained to the manager downstairs who then proceeded to write down my ID number and say I was ""blacklisted""! more

not so good food 12/3/2006

I was expecting a real greek food but it turns out it is not the real thing. I am afraid only the names of foods are greek. more

Love the Gyros and Spankakopita 11/21/2006

We always get to a point where we crave the Greek Cusina. For appetizer I would recommend the steak strips, they are so tender and good with the pita bread. The Greek plate is the best, you get a Gyro (lamb is so good), greek salad and spanakopita. A good consistent Greek restaurant! Pros: Gyros, Value more

Always great 11/20/2006

I enjoy this place a lot. I really don't have much to say negative about it. First, I went here with a friend last summer. The outdoor seating is very handy and nice. There were some panhandlers outside, but it's not Cuisina's fault! The lamb and meat entrees are delicious. Everything was authentic and tasty to me. The staff there is very nice, and they won't ignore you if you sit outside! That happens at more places than not. Last time I went here was for a Greek function. It was for a work function. Happy hour was great there. The alcohol selection is perfect. For your birthday, they give you ouzo shots they pour down your throat until you say stop. Definitely something to do for someone who just turns 21! Pros: Nice staff, great food, good hours Cons: A little spendy more

Really good for what it is... 10/22/2006

We, my husband and two boys 16 and 13, had been down town shopping and ended up here for dinner on a Sunday night around 5. It was great. Are waiter was very tentative to our needs and it was a very nice experience for the family. more
