great food as always

Not the best in quality, but for the price exactly what I expected. Cheap comfort food more

They have great services in here. I love it here because the people that work in here are very polite and attentive, the food in here is not that bad. more

no more Grand China for me 4/5/2013

I expected a Chinese food place in Buckhead to be good. It was horrible, I couldn't even eat the rice or the salad dressings which was a yellow Indian dressing. Indian dressing at Chinese place. The waiter was very nice though. I would not recommend to anyone, except Chef Ramsey to help teach them how to cook. The place was empty, that should of told me. My lunch cost $20.00 and I couldn't even eat it. The worst rice I ever had more

I like that I can still have some conversation in here, the tables are not that cramped up together. They have some amazing dishes here too, great place to treat a group. more

So I was getting my hair cut at David Barron's by my favorite stylist ever, she told me about this really fun weekend she had with her friend that ended with the ""best chinese in the city."" I didn't even know that my favorite chinese food place was known Georgia wide as the best chinese and she looked at me like I was so out of the loop.\r \r My dad and I LOVE Grand China and go there pretty regularly, more than any other place we've been. \r \r One warning - they like their chili peppers and if you aren't big on heat order everything mild. If you are a wimp like me, ask for no peppers.\r \r A few of my favorite things:\r \r -Dry Fried Wings. These are seriously the most amazing thing on the menu, they are know bay area-wide for a reason. Get them. It is amazing how many orders you see coming out of that kitchen!\r \r -Mongolian beef. A lot of places have that super thinly sliced kind of dry beef, this is moist and delicious, but definitely heavy on the peppers, just saying. My dad generally judges a place by their mongolian beef, they passed :)\r \r -Chicken Chow Mein. Lots of chicken and fresh veggies, absolutely delicious!\r \r -Pot Stickers. Really yummy.\r \r Also, we get all of this for about $40 and usually order to go. Plan on getting a pretty good amount of food, we usually have left overs, another bonus.\r \r If you plan to go there and eat any time, be prepared to wait. If you order to go, plan to push through the crowd of people that are waiting!\r \r Either way, go get some Grand China! more

Grand China: Number One Chinese 2/3/2013

This place doesn't need another five star review but it's just sooo good. \r \r If you have a mom or grandmother who can pop fresh made dumplings and double-fried chicken wings out of their buttholes then don't come here. \r \r Otherwise come here and get the shrimp and leek dumplings, hot and sour soup, 2 orders of dry-fried chicken wings and the string beans. Seriously, don't even look at the menu. I'm sure there's awesome things on there but why go through the trouble when I've got everything outlined here. \r \r Oh and just call in and order togo, show up and push past the crowd waiting for a table, get your order and devour your lot at the privacy of your own home. \r \r I've waited up to an hour for a table before and then another 30 minutes for the wings. Worth the wait but so much better when you see all those envious looking faces when you walk out with a bag full of GRAND CHINA! more

Oh how I love GC. It is actually becoming a problem. A friend showed me GC and I've gone back half a dozen times since. Everything I've seen going out to a table looks delectable and there is an extensive menu to choose from.\r \r Try the black sauce noodles, they are too good. The noodles are thick, like an udon noodle, and the sauce adds a fantastic flavor. According to the menu there are other items in the sauce (like meat), but I rarely notice it. Also a huge fan of the string beans. I could honestly eat an entire portion in one sitting (that is somewhat healthy, right?). But the pièce de résistance are truly the dry wings.\r \r If you want to eat in the restaurant during peak hours, make sure you have some time to wait for a table. This place gets slammed and there is often a long waitlist. The interior is crowded, but not uncomfortably so. The food comes out quickly as they are doing their best for a quick turnaround. more

Let me tell you! The line is still going till the last minute they close! We got seated around 920 ish and they close at 1130pm. It is crazy packed. I was very skeptical about a Chinese restaurant. \r \r We ordered the must order: the crispy chicken wings, black bean noodles, hot and sour soup, sautéed string beans, and mushu pork. \r \r I think my favorites were crispy chicken wings, hot and sour soup, and the mushu pork. The wings are what everyone raves about and really...I'm not going to start raving. I'm just going to say TRY IT! The hot and sour soup was excellent. Sour and white PEPPERY! Nice touch of ingredients inside. Plentiful amounts. The mushu pork was excellent. You roll it yourself...into a burrito. I thought its a great dish, light, flavorful with the egg, and the hoisin sauce adds a nice touch as flavor. \r \r -Give it a try! more

Add this place to your bucket list kids, you'll be so happy you did.\r \r This is officially my favorite fried wing spot. Ever.\r \r Their wings are just wonderful because of their unique taste. I've never had wings like this before, it's honestly indescribable. It will make all your taste buds come alive! It's truly sensational.\r \r I love that it's saucy and flavorful without being completely drenched in sauce. It allows the wings to be crunchy as well. There's a really great balance there.\r \r I can't believe it's taken me so long to try this place!\r \r It's about $10 for a generous order of wings, I'd say about 10 wings give or take?\r \r This is hands down the best place for fried chicken wings. Amazing! more

Mrs Chang My Vote is for You 2/3/2013

You can't go wrong 2/3/2013

Time and time again, the place to go for great Chinese Food and Wonderful Service is here. Almost all of the selections on the menu are great...you can't go wrong even if you want to try something new. \r \r While some places maybe new and more fashionable, this restaurant has been here through it all. The servers and staff are all very friendly and helpful. \r \r Don't be fooled by the low profile and unassuming exterior however. Inside, you'll find a great experience that has kept me coming back for years. more

I think the food is delicious 2/3/2013

Met up my friend Tiffany for dinner here for around 8pm. Luckily i was running late for once and she beat me there. Good thing cause she was able to get a table for the two of us right away. Right when i got there parking was not the best since construction in Buckhead limited more parking. Also, a lined started to form outside and i was dying hungry since i last ate a meal around noon.\r \r Regarding the chicken, it was my first time ever eating here and i have heard and read all the rave about the chicken wings. First of all, most people seated already had some food but it took nearly 25min to get our 1 order of wings. At least are dumplings came out within 5 min as i would have starved to death.\r \r So back to the chicken...I thought they were good and flavorful. It reminded of some chicken from a thai restaurant that i can't remember at the moment. Decent amount of wings and drumsticks given to us. Like others said I like how its not super drenched in sauce and still get the crunchy texture i like. \r \r I would definately come back but prolly not on a weekend as i figure it would be super packed or if anything i would order to go and pick it up. more

I've been coming here for years and the service has really gone bad... its a shame I heard her shouting at her poor husband right in front on the customers. more

I agree with the last comment, she was very rude to my guest at my business lunch. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/9/2012

We didn't make it past ordering tea before we walked out... The bigoted and condescending hostess (the old bat dressed in trashy high school prom clothes) decided she would greet us as potential customers by rudely talking down to us repeatedly. She seemed to think that criticizing our appearances and directly calling potential customers ""gay' would encourage us to stay to taste what would surely have been subpar (at best) food. Hint: don't insult your customers before they order their food. Avoid this horrible establishment like the plague!! more

Nice Place to Eat 5/20/2012

Fantastic dinning experience with outstanding service, and exceptional Chinese food. Hosted our wedding reception, and attended to every detail without exception. The party was enjoyed and praised by all attending. One person commented that they had attended many wedding receptions, some cosing hundreds of thousands of dollars that did not compare to this experience. more
