I have to take my family to Gindi Thai at least once a week for sushi and Thai food. Very nice employees. We love it! Have to try it!

Best Thai restaurant in Los Angeles 10/19/2007

Well, It's IMHO. Oh wait, my friends agree as well. Gindi Thai strikes a right balance of good food, nice ambiance and friendly service. It's a fun and relaxing place to hang out with friends and not overly romantic that you'd feel weird taking your parents either. We've been a regular customer for many months now and they have yet to make us think otherwise. The food is simply prepared with fresh ingredients and taste so fresh and authentic. I've tried other fine Thai restaurants that try too hard with presentation with a sacrifice of taste and that's not what I want. The dishes should be simple but have balance of flavor. Gindi Thai is spot-on. Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Parking can be hard sometimes more

Service needs improvement 10/16/2007

Good things first: Gindi is a nice little restaurant. It's a great space, with plentiful parking and tastefully decorated in bright colors. Background music selection is cool, the food is good and creative and prices are fair. The service, however, has much room for improvement. Went there on a Monday night with a friend, no reservation was required and we were seated right away. We ordered an appetizer and a main course. The food was promptly served but they seemed to be in a hurry to get us out of there. The main course came just after the appetizer, and was therefore luke warm by the time we got to it. Also, we happened to order the same main course (a curry) and I was surprised to find out that it did not come in separate plates but rather in a single tray. This may have been intentional, I have seen restaurants where this concept of sharing the food works, but here it didn't quite. Also because the portions of rice were really not that large and were simply served on a plate. Maybe they thought that we wanted to share a single order of the main course but if this was the case they should have checked it with us. Overall the food was good and we're about to order dessert when the waitress brought the check and warned us that they're closing in 5 minutes. We felt literally thrown out of the place. I do understand that they want to go home, but we weren't planning to camp out there for the night and there we were not the last customers. This really ruined the whole experience and justifies my 2-star rating. Pros: Parking, Ambience, Food Cons: Un-experienced staff more

Best Thai Restaurant in Burbank - IMHO 8/28/2007

A great place to have a relaxed evening with my girl and friends. Gindi Thai has the most friendly staffs among Thai restaurant and the decor that I cannot complain about. The food is tastely and authentic, not americanized as in others. They have full bar which feature mango mojitos and other exotic drinks. more

Great Green Curry! 8/24/2007

Very good green curry with tofu. Also ordered drunken noodles and an appetizer sampler. Everything was delicious. I will definitely come back again, and bring friends! Pros: Thai Food Cons: Parking more

Good food. 8/10/2007

I've had lunch here a while back and the food was great. The service was also very good, considering a busy lunch crowd. I was very pleased. Pros: good food, great service Cons: location, parking more

Busy lunch, Romantic dinner, Great service 6/27/2007

I work in the nearby office building and I've been having both lunch and dinner here since they open over 10 months ago. The lunch hours are busy which is a good thing. Some of my friends once suggested that we should go to the less busy Thai place down Riverside Drive but we found out why people go to Gindi Thai. It's like night and day - food wise and service wise. So now we stick to eating here and come here early to beat other people. As for dinner, the atmosphere is quite romantic. Too bad I had to come here with co-workers but not with my girlfriend since I live far away. But my girlfriend likes the takeouts I bought home though - our favorites, chicken satay, almond tofu and pad See-U. The people here are super nice, they always tend to us with smiles even when they appear to be running around the place with blurry legs - the smiles may be painted on :). more

Gindi means to eat well and they mean it. 5/23/2007

My Thai friend told me about the meaning of the name Gindi Thai, which by the way means to eat well, when he brought me to this serene and clean Thai-sushi place. It's not a Zen decor nor they try to be. The interior is casual, fun and lively. I said to myself that I have to find out what they put in the staffs' food or drink that make them smile all the time ;) I found the answer after I tried the first bites of its special fantastic bites. It's a lettuce wrap with roasted coconut, cashew nuts, shrimp, lime skin and other stuffs which I don't remember but it's really good. Each bite brings a new flavor to my palate, wow so fantastic. I also tried Pad Thai, a basic dish but very flavorful. The noodle was cooked to the right tenderness not too soft and not too hard. The dessert of mango and sticky rice was heavenly. I am in love with this place and I sure will go back many times again. more

Very Pleasantly Surprised!! 4/21/2007

Met friends here one evening and wasn't expecting anything one way or the other, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Pros: Great Food. Good Prices. Nice atmosphere more

Good food, staff is very friendly. 4/4/2007

Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of Thai cuisine, but this place is sooo good. I really liked the fact that they elaborately describe the ingredients of the dishes and how they are made. Because the menu is simple and does not overwhelm me as someone who started to appreciate Thai cuisine. Pros: Thai food and nice Thai attitude. Cons: Parking is quite difficult unless you go one block further . more

Best Thai Food in Toluca Lake 1/29/2007

This place is getting better in terms of food and service everyday - not to say that there were anything bad about it. I am a regular customer. I go there 2-3 times a month since they opened. The service was good that I was surprised that they find something they can improve. I have to admit that as there sushi is getting more popular among the customer, it may takes a bit longer time than usual but the staffs were very good in keeping the wait more pleasurable by bringing out little snacks or buying me a beer. The quality of food is close to many upscale Thais on Larchmont and in West Hollywood without making a hole in your wallet - my check for two people was averaging $45 for dinner. more

Creative Thai food 1/9/2007

My girlfriend took me to this palce and I loved it. They have a geat menu and the food was great. They have sushi but didn't have a good selection. Pros: Great taste Cons: No good parking more

Great menu selections, excellent service. 1/8/2007

After reading so many positive reviews about this place, I decided to give it a try. At this beautiful Thai restaurant on the quiet neighborhood of Toluca Lake, I was surprised that there is a place like this here. I was impressed by their carefully chosen dishes both the permanent selections which are traditional Thai dishes and the specials of the month dishes which are more adventurous. All the dishes I have tasted are very tasty and more than mildly spicy and come in beautiful presentation. The food are not fusion wannabees which has bothered me at many other pan-Asian fusion places. Their wine selections are better than most Thai restaurants or Asian restaurants for that matter. The servers are all nice and are there to please you without any issue. I've taken my co-workers and friends for dinners and they all like it even ones that don't like Thai food in general. This place is for people of all ages especially ones with mature taste buds who know that it takes more that good decor to make a good restaurant. Pros: Food, Service, Music, Price Cons: Parking - Please have a valet service. more

One of the Best Pad Thai in Town. 12/14/2006

This Thai restaurant is among the best ones that I have been to. I have only been here a few times but all the times, there were decent crowds. That is a good sign that this place is not going anywhere any time soon. I especially like their special dishes and their Pad Thai is really really good. You can tell that they are a good Thai restaurant by judging the Pad Thai alone. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly without the attitude. more
