Been to Gindi Thai a few times. Friendly staff that will try hard to accommodate your requests. The food is consistent. Tasty and authentic. Standard fares (Pad Thai, Larb, etc.) are all there. Some have a little twist to it. Som Tum - the papaya salad - is plated high and dress not with peanut but slices of almond. Specials are what sets it apart from other Thai place in town. For the times that I have been there, I have tried many of their specials -- and they are all interesting and good. Sushi with mango, shrimp salad with avocado, braised short rib with Chinese five spice, egg noodle soup with duck, fantastic bites (which is an intriguing lettuce wrap with shrimp, baked coconut bits and sweet caramel sauce). Most of them come and go by the month but some are so popular that they are now on their regular menu. If you have no idea what to eat, try the special and you will be pleasantly surprise.
Pros: Interesting specials, authentic standard fares, nice, casual ambience
Cons: Service can be more polished
