Review content:
Good things first: Gindi is a nice little restaurant. It's a great space, with plentiful parking and tastefully decorated in bright colors. Background music selection is cool, the food is good and creative and prices are fair. The service, however, has much room for improvement. Went there on a Monday night with a friend, no reservation was required and we were seated right away. We ordered an appetizer and a main course. The food was promptly served but they seemed to be in a hurry to get us out of there. The main course came just after the appetizer, and was therefore luke warm by the time we got to it. Also, we happened to order the same main course (a curry) and I was surprised to find out that it did not come in separate plates but rather in a single tray. This may have been intentional, I have seen restaurants where this concept of sharing the food works, but here it didn't quite. Also because the portions of rice were really not that large and were simply served on a plate. Maybe they thought that we wanted to share a single order of the main course but if this was the case they should have checked it with us. Overall the food was good and we're about to order dessert when the waitress brought the check and warned us that they're closing in 5 minutes. We felt literally thrown out of the place. I do understand that they want to go home, but we weren't planning to camp out there for the night and there we were not the last customers. This really ruined the whole experience and justifies my 2-star rating.
Pros: Parking, Ambience, Food
Cons: Un-experienced staff
