I have to take my family to Gindi Thai at least once a week for sushi and Thai food. Very nice employees. We love it! Have to try it!

Good things first: Gindi is a nice little restaurant. It's a great space, with plentiful parking and tastefully decorated in bright colors. Background music selection is cool, th...

Best Thai food in Toluca Lake - or - Best sushi in Toluca Lake - hmm? 11/21/2006

Wow. The food here was so good that I had no choice but to eat as much of it as possible. Each dish was amazing and different. You just keep thinking, 'No, this one is my favorite,' and then they bring out the next item and you're convinced that it is the best one. Not to mention the sushi rolls. Well, if I have to pick one that intrigued me the most, it would be 'Fantastic Bites'. It's such a strange appetizers, something in between lettuce wrap with roasted coconut and spicy caramel. You gotta try it. Pros: Service, Food, Ambience. Cons: Parking. more

Not your usual Thai Food place, but in a good way! 11/8/2006

my girlfriend recently took me here for dinner for my birthday and we didnt have reservations( on a friday night) but they were able to accomodate us. the staff was very helpful and friendly. the service was a bit slow but it was definately resonable. to drink i had an ""exotic mijito"" (cilantro+mint+mango!!) i kinda love it...so refreshing...as an appetizzer i had the chicken satay which was yummy with peanut sauce. my girl had duck rolls which were delicious!. for dinner she had the short rib.. i had the pineapple fried rice ..honestly this place was really nice and i will def go back....... i think its a romantic place. def take your significant other if you wanna begin....or end your night with a B A N G!! more

Unexpectedly best sushi 11/6/2006

I love this place! Everything is absolutely fantastic here: fresh sushi, delicious food, cool at the same time elegant setting, fun and friendly good-looking staff, everything! This review would be way long if I list every dish I love. The owner is the sweetest gal. Pros: Sushi is very fresh. Good price. more

Amazing flavors and great atmosphere! 11/6/2006

Just went to this place after a friend recommeded it to me a while back, and i have to say I'm real glad we decided to try it out! The food tasted just amazing, I really recommend the fried calamari and the sea bass in tamarind sauce, especially if you like strong flavors in your food. I also had the tom yum soup which was also amazing. The food's much more flavorsome than other thai food I've tried before and will definitely be going back for more! Also like the atmosphere, not your typical thai restaurant. I'm so glad we've got this great place in Burbank! more

Great place for vegetarian and fish-lover! 10/23/2006

I had a small party with friends last week there. The place is so refreshing with bright lime wall, I love it. Sweet Sole was a dish I picked and totally enjoyed it. Also, the chicken coconut soup was so yummy but don't forget to mention for a mild spicy. They do have Sushi too but I didnt see it in the menu. However, this place is very packed and no way to find a parking at lunch, better go there for dinner! Pros: nice place for a party, great food! Cons: no parking more

good thai food..nice feel 10/14/2006

Food is good, the place is good.. more

Delicious and healthy. 10/2/2006

Hands down my favorite restaurant in the valley! The staffs are cute and attentive. The lunch is crowded with not overly hip environment. I've taken everyone I know here and I still haven't heard a complaint--each menu item is more than delicious. The garden rolls are absolutely refreshing! Thai food at it's best! Pros: Healthy food. more

GREAT FOOD, AMBIENCE and DRINKS. Excellent dating place. 9/13/2006

i was there last night with a friend. we ordered sushi, martinis and a couple of other dishes. more

Worth the wait. 8/31/2006

I am really happy that this restaurant opened near my office. We used to have to drive to find a decent food around this area until now. I really like them with the combination of sushi and Thai. We are still deciding which one is better that why we go there almost everyday. Some days they are very packed. No wonder. But the staffs are so helpful and we still enjoy our lunch. I should not be writing this because this would make this place even more crowded. But they deserve it. more

Cool ambience with great food and drinks. What more do you want? 8/29/2006

Great sushi, full bar, cool, hip decor and atmosphere, but without the attitude. The food is perfect for sharing--you gotta try the Mango Go Tokyo--sushi roll with mango and crunchy coconut shrimp--and really fresh sushi. Delicious! Friendly staff is attentive but not pushy; we lingered for a while after a dessert of cabernet sorbet and a round of drinks. Pros: ambience, full bar Cons: limited parking at lunch time more

Great find. 8/28/2006

Really good food and service. We live in the Bay Area, so the bar for a ""good meal"" is very high, but Gindi Thai was absolutely awesome. We will surely come again next time we visit Los Angeles. more

Creative sushi while Thai dishes taste original. 8/14/2006

This has become my favorite Thai and Japanese restaurant. I just tried the specialty sushi roll ""The red carpet"" and it was very fresh and creative sushi. Also, Pad Thai, Gingerly ginger chicken were superb, traditional tastes, and great dish art. Trendy atmosphere and gorgeous décor. The dessert, sticky rice with mango, was really fantastic!!!. The wait staff was very friendly and courteous. The price is reasonable. I go every week. Really enjoyed our time there. Pros: Great sushi, friendly staff. Cons: Not serving pork. more

Best Thai Food in Town!! 8/9/2006

It's hard to find a HIP and COOL decorating Thai Restaurant like this. The nice and clean interior with a touch of green elements welcoming me to the restaurant. The service is very fast and friendly. The sushi is fresh and delicious, with a few unique dishes to try. The taste is authentic, just like you go to Thai town in Hollowood. I enjoy it a lot and sure will go back when I have a chance. more

Best Thai in Burbank!!! 8/8/2006

We went to Gindi when it first opened a few months ago. The food was delicious. The steak we had was superb as well as the appetizers. The owners did a great job remodeling the location, and the attention to detail really paid off. Gindi brought the trendy vibe of the west side into the Burbank area. The service was excellent. They have a full bar and the drinks are equality delicious. Its a great place for a delicious meal, excellent service and great price! more

Just go there. 8/7/2006

It's hard to find a place that has really cool ambience with friendly service, let alone great food. This newly open Thai and Sushi hybrid manages to do it all and has become my new favorite place. I haven't ever ordered anything that wasn't delicious. All my friends that have gone there with me feel the same. It is in a great location that makes going out after very easy. My only word of caution is tht they don't go easy on the spice. When they say spicy, they mean it. Go there! more

Trendy Place, Authentic Taste 8/7/2006

Except from the name, you would never tell that this place serves Thai food, let alone a very authentic tasting one. White walls with judicious shocks of green accent, linen-lined tables with sleek white chairs and tasteful oak benches, abundant with pillows lends to an open, bright inviting look. The food is good and surprisingly authentic. Served in an elegant, Western style presentation, you wouldn't expect the taste not unlike the most authentic hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant anywhere. Sushi is fresh and original rolls with exotic ingredient a revelation. Mango Go Tokyo - who would have thought that mango would make such a perfect combination with coconut shrimp in a roll? The staff is friendly and attentive but not overly ""efficient"". Parking can be a problem at busy lunch time when it is always packed with people from nearby office towers. Full of energy. Dinner time is a more leisure and delightful experience, especially with a dimmed lighting and lit candle. You can definitely take your time. Pros: Authentic Food, Good Ambience, Good Service Cons: Parking, Busy at Lunch more

Best Thai food in near studio city 8/6/2006

And oh man, the sushi is so good! Finally, we found a good Thai food in this area, please keep up the good work and taste. We will go back! Pros: Service, food, design. Cons: busy at lunch more

Great Thai food. Great Sushi in slick modern setting. 8/2/2006

This place is exceptional. Having experienced thai food in rundown Hollywood thai restaurants for many years and this is perfect. Inside their slick all white room accented by natural wood trims. The menu is varied. Thai menu have authentic taste and their sushi is fresh. I haven't had a good yellowtail in the valley for a long time and was surprised to have found it in a Thai restaurant. Dont let the healthy slant put you off, its all good! This new place has great staff too. We dont visit as often as we would like but even so they always remember us. Try the Flambe Chicken and the steam seabass. It's very crowded at lunch time but dinner time is okay. Parking can be a bit difficult. I hope they have a valet. This place is a gem. Pros: Great Food. Fresh sushi. Great setting. Cons: Parking. more

really gone down 12/7/2004

I tried Chandra a couple of years ago and liked it. I was in the area today and thought I'd stop by for lunch. It was very disappointing. I ordered a cup of coffee, I received a slightly warm, half filled cup. I took it to the waitress and asked if I could have a hot cup, I was later charged for two cups. I ordered a dish called Spicy Grilled Eggplant. I received a plate that had 2 pale-looking, skinned eggplants that were not only not spicy, but very bland. I mentioned to the waittress that the dish was not spicy, she looked at me annoyed and said it is supposed to be mild, did you want it spicy? I responded that I thought it would be since it's called ""spicy"" eggplant. She seemed very uninterested in how satisfied I was with my food. I would never go back. Pros: decor Cons: , bad service, average food more
