It can't get any better than this!!! 1/17/2006

I have been to almost every Brazilian restaurant in Los Angeles (I know of 8) and Gauchos Village is by far the best. Brazilians tend to use a lot of garlic in their food and it can be too much at times. But at Gauchos Village all the meats are seasoned just perfectly. The meat is so delicious, my boyfriend who stopped eating meat 2 years ago could not resist and had some. The price is very very reasonable for what you get. I have paid double of what you pay at Gauchos and did not nearly get the service or quality of food as I did here. It also says a lot about an owner who wants to make things up to you. Some people just aren't happy no matter what you do! Kevin keep up the great work!!!! You don't get to the top by mistake!!!!!! Pros: Amazing food, Great service, Excellent Music Cons: None at all!!!!! more

Green means go. Don't worry about the red, like my belt, that is just for decoration. The huge variety of meats will test your intake capacity, and everyone will have more than one favorite. Great for big parties and fun for family dinners, especially when their band is playing. Service is great and meat selection comes often. I definitely suggest a reservation. Pros: Great Food, Great Selection, Great Service more

Great place and Enviroment 1/16/2006

I just got back from this restaurant and it was my second time there, after being invited by a friend and my boyfriend and I had a great time there. We had a very good service and the food was great, the meat you have to know what you are looking for before you go to a Churrascaria.Whoever brings the meat to the table does not know which way you like it, so you have to tell them which way you would like your meat to be cook. Maybe you should make a little research about brazilian barbecue before you go to a place or if you know at least how to speak english(which is kind of hard for most people around this area here)you can ask and they will be pleased to answer. Thanks for the great time me and my boyfriend had and thanks Kevin for the reception. more

The Most Authentic Brazilian Churrascaria 1/16/2006

brasiltc2000 Provided by Partner
If you want to experience Brazilian Churrasco, there are a few out there in SoCal. But none is more authentic than Gaucho's Village--it is owned and staffed with Brazilians, and every detail is authentic, from the cheese rolls and farofa of the buffet, to the dress of the waiting staff. This is what separates Gaucho's Village from its competitors. Now some may say that the seasoning on the meat is not to their liking. Well, that is how Brazilians eat their meat, so if you want your steak dripping with BBQ sauce, this is not the place. However, the service is very good, and the staff is receptive to requests on the level of cooking on the meat. This is THE place to go if you want to try Brazilian BBQ and it's a great value too! Be sure to try the delicious chicken wrapped with bacon. Pros: Large buffet, Spacious environment, Clean bathrooms Cons: Limited street parkin more

Great place to bring friends!! 1/16/2006

My wife and I are on a low carb diet and love coming here! 12 different kinds of meat and the atmoshpere is great. Last summer we had some friends come visit from New York and we took them there and they loved it! Now, every time we see them they talk about coming to visit us just to eat at gauchos village. The dancers are very fun and the drinks are pretty good as well. They play videos of carnival and have live bands sometimes. If you are not ready to eat a lot of meat and have a good time, I would recommend going somewhere else. For two people and drinks you'll probably drop about $80-$90, not bad for special occasions! ,Jason May Pros: Great Food, Fun atmosphere, Good music Cons: valet expensive, kinda pricey more

Exceptional Value in Brazilian Barbecue 1/16/2006

The Gauchos Village is an exceptional value in the growing Brazilian Steakhouse themed restaurants. GV offers a tasty combination of grilled beef, lamb and pork with exceptional flavors that keep you asking for more. The pricing of the fare is exceptional in comparison to the more well known Brazilian restaurants and has to be considered an EXCEPTIONAL VALUE IN TERMS OF PRICE AND QUALITY. Pros: Inexpensive, Upbeat, Tasty Cons: Buffet Turnover more

If you have never been to Gauchos, I highly recommmend it! The staff is friendly, the drinks are generous, and the food is fantastic. If there is a menu item that does not suit your tastes, you will not be waiting long before another will be brought to you, fresh off of the barbeque. Be sure to bring your appetite - they won't stop until you tell them to! more

One of my Faves! 1/16/2006

I just saw that disappointed reviewer's review and I had to chime in. That certainly must have been an aberration indeed. I've been to Gaucho's about 4 or 5 times and always leave happy. Some of the best meat cuts I can remember eating were at Gaucho's..and it keeps coming and coming. The Chicken Stroganoff and Cheese Bread are two of my gut-busting favorites too. The entertainment is always a treat and Kevin (the owner) is always eager to please. He once chased me down in the street after I'd been turned away when they were crowded and set me up in a private room upstairs. Good guy. Pros: great variety, live entertainment more

A great Brazilian experience in our back yard! 1/14/2006

Gauchos Village has become a regular haunt for us. Drawn in at first by the great variety of yummy Brazilian-style meats (and extensive salads for my wife), all authentically prepared, the wonderful live Brazilian music, friendly people, and party-like atmosphere has kept us coming back almost every weekend. It's like a mini-vacation. We never leave unsatisfied. Whether you're looking for a nice dinner with good food or looking to drink and dance the night away, It's a great place for dinner for two or twenty! We've tried all the other Brazilian Restaurants in LA, and this is the one at the top of the list. Highly recommended! Pros: MMmm...MEAT!, Great Music!, Owner who cares! Cons: Eat too much!, Often loud more

The best kept secret in Los Angeles 1/13/2006

This restaurant is by far the best restaurant in Los Angeles. The staff and owner have developed an amazing restaurant with all its finest qualities. The service, food, music and overall atmosphere are consistently exceptional. Whether it is your first time dining with them or your 258th time, the owner and staff treat each person with much respect and gratitude. It's a place to go and forget your troubles and just be transported into another world at least for a few hours. A definite must see and a true culinary experience. Pros: fun, great food, great service Cons: none more

If you love meat other latin treats with a little live brazilian jazz as background music...you'll also have a a great experience. If you're looking to try a churrascarria for the first time I'd say start here! Pros: friendly waiters, live music, tasty dishes Cons: samba dancers hourly more

It's changed and not really for the better. 3/23/2005

Since they reopened at this current location, they've made a lot of changes and improvements. They've added entertainment and rearranged the furniture. They've put in a permanent hot food station, but the last time we were here, the salad/dessert station was still a buffet table on wheels. When they first reopened, the food was excellent, the service excellent. In my opinion, both have slowly deteriorated in quality. The truth is that I don't even want to go here anymore. I will go to Burbank instead...or even drive all the way to West Covina, even though I live in nearby Eagle Rock. Cons: Limited parking more

Owner:Kevin is sitting in front of restaurant(next to patio) and welcome you like friend. he squeezes lime and make cocktails, make a speech for weekend Rio dancing entertainment, he make it like own home.I like this kind of restaurant owner! They play authentic Bossa Nova which is my favorite for weekend live entertainment too! I heard those foods are from owner`s mothers recipe.Roasted meats to your table until you give up! Pros: Very friendly people, Live Bossa Nova, heart warming food more

Good Stuff!!! 3/26/2004

While the place is somewhat small in terms of seating, it can pack quite a bit of people, and the food packs quite a punch. It is buffett style. You select your side dishes at the buffet, which range from rice, veggies, salads, breads, plaintains, and much more. While you start chowing on your veggies, servers come by with a wide array of meats that are plucked off large skewers, from garlic charbroiled chicken and top sirloin, to BBQ pork and sausages. You have a small widget on the table colored green on one side and red on the other. Keep the green side up and the servers keep coming with fresh meat right of the grill. When you've had your fill, flip it to red. Bring your appetite! Pros: Great meats, Good selection, Good servings more

Churascaria 1/30/2004

bon_petit Provided by Partner
This place is a Brazilian churascuria, please excuse my spelling. There is an all you can eat buffet of things like empanadas, rice, black beans, salads, pasta etc. and then when once you return to the table waiters come around with skewers of all sorts of cuts of marinated beef, sausages, pork, and chicken, which again is all you can eat. You can pick and choose what you want and have as much of it as you can stomach. My family and I lived in Rio De Janeiro for 4 years and while this place isn't exactly the same it's pretty close, I think the meat is better in Rio. Pros: all-you-can-eat, entertaining, good food more
