Furniture Connexion

Based on the results of searches my husband and i did online, as well as a trip to the store, we decided to give this store a miss when buying our new couch and chair this week. The quality of the furniture in person is not that great, and after reading about fading fabric and warrantees not being honored - or being honored only after the customer has to sclhep the stuff all the way back to the store - and then learning from the salesman that the warrantee is only for one year anyway - well, we'll be going elsewhere. There are lots of competitors in town and several of them offer lifetime warrantees and just as good prices - that's where we'll be going. more

Last spring my wife and I decided to upgrade to a sectional sofa since we had our second child in addition to a cat and dog. We visited Furniture Connexion and were not terribly impressed with the warehouse, but knew low overhead would save us some money. We were led by the salesman to the in house brand, Porter, and found a sofa we liked. We purchased the sofa and picked it up a few days later from the warehouse. When we got the sofa home and unpacked it (lots of packaging, but that was fine) we noticed there was staining on a portion of the fabric. We contacted FC and were informed we would have to email photos to them. I did so and a few days later they approved an exchange. I was also told that since we picked up the sofa, we would have to return the stained one and pick up the new one. They would not deliver even though they provided a stained sofa. I agreed and did so. more

So, its not like I landed 350lbs on it. I contacted FC 2 days ago and they informed me I needed to contact customer service. I did so and customer service told me to email photos. I did so. Today I received a phone call stating they would need me to drop the sofa off and that their tech would inspect it before approving an exchange. That seemed ridiculous to me since I clearly showed the problem in the photos and have only had the sofa for approx 5 months. Secondly, they told me they would need the sofa for several days and were unconcerned that my children would be sitting on the floor. Third, I asked if they would bear the time/expenses of having it picked up and a new one dropped off since this is sofa #3 in 5 months. They refused to do so and were unwavering in their position and unconcerned that I would be without living room seating for several days since their tech is only on site Fridays (I believe that is what she told me). In sum, the prices are cheap, but so is the furniture. Further, once you need real customer service, FC is an epic failure. Invest a bit more money into a higher quality product and higher quality service when you really need it. more

We just bought a sofa from Furniture Connexion. Its beautiful and so comfortable we want to sleep on it! Service was great, wish I remember our salesmans name but he was on top of everything! We needed to measure, he came right out with a measuring tape, we wanted to buy a table and chairs, he advised AGAINST what we were looking at telling us it wasnt good, cheap and was known to break all the time. So we didnt buy that but we are coming back and getting lots more stuff for our theatre room, and maybe bedroom as well. Delivery was fast and I am very happy with the selection they had there. more

I found exactly what I was looking for at Furniture Connexion. Their Gresham showroom is huge. Not only was the sofa and loveseat I liked in stock, but I was also able to pick it up the same day. This was my first new furniture purchase and I couldn't be more please with the experience. more

I love this store. I live in Gresham, which doesn't have a lot furniture options. This store is really big. Not sure of the size, but it's a big warehouse. I've been looking for a cute bedroom set, and for some reason, never stopped here. I foudn the perfect set (kind of contemporary) that goes well with my other furniture. My sales guy was really nice and helped me find a chair to go in my lving room. The prices were really sharp and they delivered my stuff the same day which was pretty cool. I will recommend them to my friends. more

They're a ways out (Gresham-ish) but it was worth it. I think they have another location too. The looks like a warehouse, but the prices were pretty darn good. Lots of sofa styles in the the $400 range (and up). I love Ikea for bookshelves but their furniture is s*cks. If you want a good deal for a sofa that's well made, I'd look here. They have a lot of dining room furniture too. I love my sofa. Pros: Affordable furniture and lots of different styles. Cons: A little out of the way. more

We purchased a sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman for around $ 1200. Within about 6 months the fabric started to significantly fade-- only in spots. On all of the pieces!!! The furniture was in our living room on the north side of the house, so NO direct sunlight ever.. Furniture was used very little as we mostly are in our family room for casual use. Went to store to complain. Assured us it was under warranty. Owner came out to examine and acknowledged the defects in the fabric. He promised us he would take care it. A few days later, we got a MESSAGE LEFT on our phone, stating that the warranty did not cover the defective fabric. Fabric was made in China and they could not do anything about it. Needless, to say we are exploring other avenues to get the company to stand behind their false promises and low level of customer service. Bottom line, cheap goods and undelivered promises.!!! A total lack of professional integrity-- Shop elsewhere or possibly get burned like we did. RESPONSE to companies rebuttal: When the "company rep" came out to our house, he clearly represented himself as one of the owners of the company. He clearly stated that he and another person had initially started the company. Wow! What a "run a round" we were given. Apparently, More Dishonesty. We took him at his word. He saw the spots on our furniture but NEVER suggested that the furniture had been stained by us or a botched cleaning attempt. Keep in mind that spots developed on all pieces of the furniture in numerous locations. AND, WE HAVE NEVER CLEANED OR SOILED IT. The first time that we even heard the allegation that we had stained the furniture was in the companies response to our original posting. This company is not honest, does not keep their word or do the right thing. BEWARE. Cons: They do not stand behind their warranty. more
