Great food, atmosphere, but bad service. 4/6/2007

I've been hearing about this restaurant for a while now, so I went with my date. The atmosphere was very nice, the salad bar was great, and the whole coaster flipping thing was brilliant. People walking around with the meat all had some kind of exotic accent, and I even liked that.\r Among all the selections of meat, there's three that stood out the most, and they were the Picanha, Fillet Mignon, and the Alcatra. The rest were.....great but not as great as these three. (It's personal preference, mind you.) Their side dishes like the roasted banana was excellent as well. They have a very nice wine list, and I highly recommend having wine with the food, cause it's really rich and greasy, and if you don't have something like wine to wash it down with, you won't get your money's worth.\r One negative thing I have to say about the place is the service. I don't know. maybe I dressed too casually. but our waiter was.......always busy with something else. You know that trick they pull on you--""if I don't look at them, I don't have to serve them"" thing? He was pulling it all night. Even our payment was handled by another waitress. We even thought they had a shift change until he walked passed us, and served another family at another table. Maybe If I take some Louis-Vuitton bag, or wear Jimmy Choo shoes with lots of make-up next time, he'll pay more attention. \r Other then that, it was great!! more

Best all you can eat brazilian steakhouse 1/9/2007

Fogo de Chao is the best all you can eat brazilian steakhouse I've been to. The food is great, the meat is fresh, just make sure you're in the mood to eat non-stop. More important, the service is great. I would highly recommend eating at the Fogo de Chao. more

Loved it! 11/21/2006

Loved it!!!!! Great choice of meats : lamb. filet mignon, chicken, sausage........ALL you can eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: MEAT Cons: $50 more

Meat eaters heaven 11/18/2006

I went with my husband who likes meat, he loved it, I've had salad bar, it was good, but I don't think it was worth $20, however $50 that my husband spent on meat was worth it... Pros: good meats Cons: expensive more

The King! 11/18/2006

Sure, there are many Brazilian steakhouses around by now, but this one tops every one I've tried by a long shot. The best cuts and quality of meat, the salad bar is incredible, lunch is a very good deal, and the atmosphere is one of the best for such a place. If you go to one Brazilian steakhouse, choose this one. Some other fine choices in town, but this one outshines them all. more

bring your appetite! 11/16/2006

This is a wonderful place for date night. Nice, romantic atmosphere. The wine selection is outstanding! Great service and lots of good food. Be sure to bring your appetite though as there are lots of choices to try. Pros: great atmosphere, nice wine selection Cons: crowded at times more

Very Classy! 11/13/2006

I must say I didn't know what to expect when I got here. But it was worth the wild. You pull up and they valet park your car. Your seated and then the fun begins. As the other recommendations said before don't fill up on the salad bar, and the meat is just to die for! Enjoy it, I loved it! Thanks Mr. Baskerville for taking me there! Pros: food, waiters, service, valet parking Cons: a bit crowded and there was kids there more

Excellent for Meat Lovers! 11/13/2006

This was a great experience. The salad bar was great but don't fill up on it. All of the meat selections were amazing and well prepared. I had an excellent time. The staff are friendly and prompt. Pros: Food, Service, Location Cons: Price more

FUN, GREAT SERVICE, AND GREAT FOOD! 10/14/2006

WOW, I LOVE THIS PLACE! I WENT WITH MY HUSBAND AND OUR TWO KIDS AND EVERYONE WAS HAPPY! I FELT LIKE A PRINCESS WITH THE WAIT STAFF POPPING UP SO QUICKLY AS SOON AS OUR DISCS WERE ON GREEN. THE TABLE SIDE DISHES WERE CONSTANTLY FILLED,SOMETIMES YOU DIDN'T EVEN SEE THEM THEY WERE SO QUICK. THE CUTS OF STEAK WERE COOKED TO PERFECTION AND I LOVED THE CHICKEN WRAPPED IN BACON. FOR $46 A PLATE YOU GET ACCESS TO THE SALAD BAR AND ENDLESS ROUNDS OF VARIOUS MEATS, NOT BAD. DO THE VALET PARKING OTHERWISE YOU HAVE TO PARK DOWN A HILL IN A QUESTIONABLE LOOKING PARKING LOT. Pros: GREAT SERVICE AND AWESOME FOOD Cons: PARKING LOT FAR AWAY more

A Fitting Send-Off 10/11/2006

My girlfriend and I went out for Valentine's dinner with a close friend of mine and his girlfriend at the time, who was going back to China. I had heard amazing things about Fogo and I was not disappointed. The salad bar was esquisite and the meat was tender and cooked as ordered. I felt like I was going to die on the way out it was so good. Try the lamb, filet mignon, and the pork tenderloin, amazing. A fitting way to send off an old friend. Pros: Food, atmosphere, salad bar Cons: Noise level more

Best dining experience ever! 10/9/2006

They make you feel like royalty. The entire wait staff assists your every need throughout your meal. Once you turn your card to green, the men with the meat race to your table filling your plate with delicious cuts of meat. The salad bar contains so many delicious salads that you could easily fill up on and leave content! My husband and I went for a romantic date and it was the best date we've ever been on! We can't wait to return. We want to take everyone we know! Perfect place for couples or large groups. Our bill was about $100. more

Tremendous Food!! 9/22/2006

If you love meat this place is for you. My husband skipped the salad bar and had meat only. I on the other hand did check out the salad bar which was loaded with goodies. They had romaine lettuce, olives, mozzarella cheese, salmon, Spanish rice, mixed rice with black beans and a whole lot more. On the table you get cheese puffs, sweet bananas, and mashed potatoes and if you run out its all you can eat of this stuff. Oh and the meats, you can taste the wood on it and they seasoned the meats with sea salt. I highly recommend the Filet Mignon. If you have your medallion on green they will attack you with meat. more

Gracious Rehearsal Dinner. 9/5/2006

Kudos, kudos, kudos! I opted to hold my rehearsal dinner here. On the surface, we had every reason to have less than a great time - my bride and many of her family are vegetarian, and half my party showed up half an hour late. Nonetheless, the staff at Fogo de Chao was gracious and everybody had a fantastic time, even the veggies. \r \r The staff allowed the first half of the party to go ahead and start ahead of the rest, a rarity in fine restaurants these days. They didn't mind explaining things twice for the latecomers. The vegetarians clamored for the salad bar and enjoyed the sheer energy of the place, while the meat-eaters...well, no need to explain the obvious. A lot of my family is from small-town Arkansas, they had no idea such a place existed. \r \r Great food, great service. I left a 20% tip of several hundred dollars, and I wish I had left more. Pros: Great food, ambience, service. Cons: The parking lot is a bit run-down. more

Worth EVERY Penny! 8/15/2006

My husband and I have been to the Fogo in Brazil and loved it. We were excited to return while vacationing in Atlanta. This is a huge financial splurge for us but worth every penny. Meat, meat, and more meat brought out to your table until you tell them to stop. If you can, GO! It's the best meal you will ever have. If finances are an issue, do what we did - go for lunch. Pros: Service, Food, Selection Cons: NON more

Best place to eat when hungry 7/19/2006

Excellent!!! Is all I have to say. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and he is a meat lover so he was in heaven. I was really impressed with our waiter and his wine recommendation. My cheesecake looked and tasted divine. The staff is very attentive..i give Fogo two thumbs up.\r One thing though if you are looking for a quiet romantic spot that is where it is lacking. Its a very busy place. Pros: Food, service, value Cons: not so quiet for romantic dining more

As good as it gets 2/28/2006

Having been to various churrascarias in Brazil, I was a bit apprehensive when I heard that Fogo de Chao was opening a restaurant here in Atlanta. Showed up first week, and my apprehensions evaporated. Have been back many times since. Authentic food and service (although having to traipse to a salad bar is a very American alteration; in Brazil, they typically bring it all to your table on a million little plates.) Having said that, the salad bar is mind numbing. While you're waiting for your table, have a caipirinha or two--be careful, they have a kick! Everyone I've brought has said it was one of their best dining experiences. Even if it is a bit crowded... Pros: Excellent food, Salad bar to die for, Service Cons: Parking, Crowds, Crowds more

Our anniversary 11/17/2005

It was our 3rd anniversary and we were seated promptly before 6pm. Staff explain the menu and service. Salad bar was unique and very good. As I was looking at the wine list the Manager was extremely helpful in picking a unique wine for our taste. I mentioned our anniversary and continued to eat some of the best meat that I have ever had. At the end ordered Creme` Brulee (sp) and the Manager had one of them and it said Happy Anniversary (My wife started to cry) The service, food and management is top notch. THANKS Pros: Service, Food, Management more

Just Roll me out the door!!! 6/8/2005
