Not totally impressed 8/22/2009

OK. I'm gonna shoot you straight!!!!\r \r If you are a meat lover, you will really enjoy yourself. I'm certain if there is a such thing as having had a previous life, I was a T-Rex. I LOVE MEAT and good food, but I didn't enjoy all of the selections of meat. I really enjoyed the Bottom Cut Sirloin, Parmesan Pork, Filet and Bacon-wrapped Chicken. I was surprised that I did not like the Ribeye as much, since it's one of my favorite steaks and I was totally disappointed with the Pork Ribs and sausage (which I looked forward to the most) and I just didn't enjoy anything about the lamb.\r \r My conflict in eating at any ""all you can eat"" is that I want to eat far beyond my normal amounts to feel I've gotten my monies worth. Here, considering the cost per person, I attached an extra stomach. At the same time I didn't want to waste the meats I sampled but did not enjoy, so I was stuffed long before I could enjoy a second round of my favorites.\r \r The staff from valet and hostesses to the servers and bartenders were simply amazing and wonderful people, very eager to make your experience the best ever. My trouble with Fogo is the side dishes offered during our meal (only three) and the unbelievably RESTRICTED selection of the salad bar. It was probably the smallest ""bar"" I've ever seen and many of the items filling it had nothing to do with my type of salad. Although I didn't really care because I came primarily for the meat, my wife does not eat meat and came for the salad. Many reviews spoke highly of the salad bar being wonderful, but there must have been another that we did not see during our visit. You don't expect a $25 salad bar to be this limited, especially when you could go to Ruby Tuesday's or even Golden Coral and have a great salad for a third of the price.\r \r I love having both my meat and sides dancing on my taste buds together, so to only be offered mashed potatoes, fried corn meal and fried plantains was disappointing. If there were other choices, we were never told about them nor did we see any other table receive something different. All in all it was a great EXPERIENCE, and while I would probably eat here again, it won't be any time soon. There are many restaurants I enjoy for far less that what it costs experience Fogo.\r \r Pros: Loads of meat selections, awesome staff Cons: Unbelievably restricted salad bar and side dish offerings. more

TRY THE BEST AND GET HOOKED 8/19/2009

I have been to the piedmont location two time and fell in love all over again. Dont fill up on the salad bar eat all the meat you would like to experience. Take your time dont eat to fast and be prepared to have an overstuffed stomach. The servers and staff are pleasent and always willing to help you in anyway that they can even during busy periods Pros: everything about this place is a pro except... Cons: a little pricey but you pay for what you get more

Go hungry!! 8/12/2009

We recently went to Fogo in Atlanta while we were there on vacation. I had been told by a friend that I had to check it out and boy was she right! The food was amazing and there was so much of it! The salad bar was filled with items that are not normally found on a salad bar and was so yummy! The meats were all cooked perfectly and the sides were also wonderful. We had the signature desert, the papya cream and words can't even describe how good this was! The price is very expensive, to me anyway, but the food, service, and experience was well worth it. The service that was provided by the waiters was also great. I never wanted for anything! Pros: food was great and there was lots of it Cons: cost more

If you go, get Matt as your Server, that guy really Cares!! 5/23/2009

Okay so I went there, and I was impressed. I got seated by the fire, which was a lovely delight to accent our meal. It was me and my girlfriend, on a busy busy Saturday night. I expected great food, as I've heard from all my friends that this place has awesome meat. But what I soon realized, is that when you describe a place to people, you tend to focus on what they offer, and what their best meals are. You tend to miss out on telling your friends or coworkers what the service is like. The service at Fogo De Chao was impeccable. I mean truly outstanding. I was not only impressed but I could only wish that if people worked like they did at Fogo everywhere in the United States, the US would be the best place on Earth! My server had his hands full, with seemingly like 8 or 9 tables, and you could see him truly care. He would eye a last bite of a plate, and not just walk over to the plates to offer a new plate, he would run. Literally the guy/kid (he looks pretty young) would eye a soon-to-be empty plate and run to replace it. What truly made it an experience, was when I said that I like lamb, and he asked me in a sincere voice, which I'd like to try first, the leg of lamb, or the lamb chop! I said the lamb chop sounded good, and he didn't just stop there, he asked me how I liked it, well done, medium, I told him how I liked it and Woof! I felt like I was a King giving an order! His pace was very fast, checking the other tables quickly, but then you see him swing by the corner by the salad bar, and whole heartedly start speed walking (as fast as some people can run), just to get me Mint Sauce to try. He said it goes well with the lamb chop and leg of lamb, and that he thought I'd enjoy it. I didn't even ask for it lol! I am a lambchop lover now! and LambChops at Fogo are unbeatable, especially with the mint sauce! My girlfriend is so impressed by the friendliness of not just our server, but most of the gauchos as well. Some seemed in a hurry, but others were awesome because they'd run, and as they were within 1 foot of the table, they'd act like they were just gently gliding, and slowly offer the meat to us. It was awesome service. So if you go there, have the cremebrulee (one of Matt's highly suggested recommendations) for dessert, and ask for some mint sauce for the lambchops. And dig in. And ask for Matt- I've never had a server like that, but then again maybe every server is that good there. He's the first one I had. I usually don't ask for a guys name at the end of a meal, but he was just that awesome, that I have to brag about him. My girlfriend and I loved it, and will definitely be back. Thanks Fogo De Chao. Pros: Excellent Meats, Amazing Service, Aged Cheeses Cons: In a county where taxes are 8%.... more

THE ABSOLUTE BEST FOOD & DINING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD! 3/13/2009

The service was beyond incredible, the waiters are so friendly and eager to cater to your every need. The salad bar is awesome! I LOVE THEIR CHICKEN SALAD! As for the meal, I am absolutely amazed by their cheesy bread! It was unlike any other! So soft and warm and just melts in your mouth! There's an amazing selection of meat and it's all-you-can-eat! So you better come HUN-GRY! And trust me, you WILL BE SATISFIED for DAYS! My favorite is definitely the filet mignon wrapped in bacon! Overall, the experience was truly beyond amazing.. I didn't even want to leave the restaurant! Me and my boyfriend will definitely be going back there soon! It is our ultimate favorite place to dine! Pros: FOOD, SERVICE, ATMOSPHERE Cons: Price more

Best beef in town 12/28/2008

Each and every time I come to Atlanta, this is on the top of my list of places to go. The service is amazing, and only surpassed by the quality of the food. The salad bar could stand as a meal on its own, but why would you stop there, when the smell of the grilled meat is irresistable? From the chicken wrapped in bacon to the baby lamb chops, each meat presented by the gauchos is flavorful and filling. Make sure you're hungry, as it is the ultimate ""all you can eat experience"". I could sustain life indefinately on just the lamb chops alone. more

THE BEST FOOD I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE 2/8/2008

Fogo is easily the best food I've ever eaten. The Brazilian style meats are cooked over open fire to PERFECTION. The meal is decadent and perfect for a first date, second date and every date if you can afford it. The meats are five star quality meats, this is not Golden Coral, it's a five-star resturant that feeds you until you surrender, and believe me you will surrender. When you are served, you can tell them how you like it... if the meat is too rare you can tell them 'well done' and they will make it for you. They will prepare every cut to your satisfaction, no matter how many times you ask them to bring it more or less well done. This place is a meat lover's paradise! Why pay $40-$50 for a 9 oz. filet when you can go to Fogo and get every cut they have for a coupla bucks more?\r **The service is amazing, every employee in the establishment will serve you hand and foot.\r **The food is DEVINE\r **The place leaves nothing more to be desired, if Fogo De Chao does not please you, nothing can.\r Tips...\r \r **Don't fill up on the salad bar, you're not really paying for the lettuce\r **Go with the regular meats, stay away from the 'Garlic meats' \r **The best beef cuts are: Picha?a, Bottom Serloin, Filet, \r **Take the lambchops medium rare\r **Try everything on the menu once, but don't eat the stuff you don't like, just have them take it away\r \r **THE MOST IMPORTANT THING**\r **ASK FOR EVERYTHING YOU WANT, IT WILL MAKE THEM HAPPY TO PLEASE YOU**\r **DON'T BE SHY, YOU ARE THERE FOR THE EXPERIENCE, DON'T CHEAT THEM OUT OF THE OPPERTUNITY TO PROVIDE THE BEST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR YOU.**\r TAKE CARE, ALI PARMAN\r 404-671-7473 Pros: DIVINE FOOD. BEST MEAL OF YOUR LIFE. Cons: YOU MAY LEAVE EXTREMELY STUFFED. more

Compare Brazilian 1/19/2008

Compare Fogo De Chao to Texas De Brazil. Claim to be the same, but Texas De Brazil is much better and worth the money. Fogo De Chao is more expensive, meat all taste the same and salad bar nothing special. Service was good although it seems they were always in a hurry to beat the other servers to your table. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. If you are looking for a great meal then drive past Fogo De Chao and find a Texas De Brazil! more

Excellent Service, Great Food 11/18/2007

I have been twice to Fogo de Chao for my birthday and then for my husband's. I've been impressed every time. The service is very attentive and the food is great. Be prepared to leave with your belly full. On my husband's birthday, we unfortunately had a car accident when we were only 5 minutes from the restaurant. Knowing that Atlanta PD would be a while, I called the restaurant and asked if they could hold our reservation. This was on a busy Saturday night. The restaurant was so accommodating and told us they'd seat us whenever we could get there. I was very impressed. I'll definitely be back! Pros: great service, great food Cons: expensive...but it's too be expected more

Great Food & Service!!!!!!!! 10/20/2007

My husband & I ate here last night for his birthday. Although I'm a vegetarian this was one of my best dining experiences. There was plenty of options for me on the salad bar (chick peas & potato salad was my fav) as well as the potatoes, bread and bananas that are brought to the table. My husband enjoyed all of the meats served but his favorites were lamb chop and filet mignon. Be sure to try their Limeade, great non-alcoholic beverage. The best part about this restuarant is the service. The waiters were very attentive to our needs, we never had to ask for anything. My husband left stuffed & happy!!! Pros: Customer Service more

Exceptional Service 9/10/2007

The food at Fogo de Chao is great, but make sure only to go if you have the appetite to eat all those delcious meats. The salad bar was very delicious and had a variety of items that were also delicious. The lemonade there is slammin. The very best I have ever had. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive...almost too attentive. The never let my glass get empty. It is very expensive, but the food was delicious!! Pros: Delicous food and great service Cons: Very, very expensive. more

The Only Brazilian Steakhouse To Dine! 9/8/2007

This is by far the best Brazilian Steakhouse! I highly advise you to avoid trying to cut costs by going to knock-off Brazilian steakhouses. You will be disppointed! My husband and I have gone at least 8 times and have ALWAYS been very satisfied with Fogo. Service is impeccable. The food is seasoned to perfection. You can't go wrong with Fogo! I was prompted to write this review today, because my husband and I just left another so-called Brazilian restaurant extremely upset to say the least. We never have to put any seasonings on our food when we dine at Fogo. Salt & Pepper didn't help this steakhouse. We were trying to avoid the Buckhead traffic due to special events this weekend. We were in the Perimeter Mall area and he was craving meat! We're still kicking ourselves that we didn't just opt for another day since we couldn't do Fogo's. Pros: Food is seasoned to perfection Cons: Location more

I've been to a lot of steak houses, but Fogo de Choa is by far the best! 7/14/2007

It's awesome! You can get as much beef, chicken, lamb, or pork that you want all for one price. If you love filet mignon then you can get as much as you'd like. If you like lamb also, then you can get as much of that too! It's a never ending feast until you are satisfied. Service is outstanding. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and taken to our table. There were already two waiters at our table ready to pull our chairs and greet us as soon as we sat down. Through out the dinner I felt as if there was always someone there to answer any question or take care of any thing that I wanted. All around, my favorite restaurant to go to!!! You can't go wrong at this place. more
