Unsatisfied Customer 10/24/2012

This is a rip off business. I purchased a set of 4 Firestone Destination tires for my Navigator. Within 20 minutes of leaving the store I recieved a call from Technician Robby Clark. He stated I needed an oil change, the right lower front ball joint needed replaced, and the right front half shaft seal needed replaced. Cost was in excess of $500. I had had the oil changed within the past 2 weeks and the oil was clean. I had an extended Lincoln warranty so I took it to the local Ford Lincoln Service Center. They inspected and reported no action was necessary on the ball joint or the half shaft seal. What a ripoff establishment. I could not find this store on the Better Business Web site. Beware of this place and have a mechanic on call to double check thes people's alleged needed repairs. I have sent an email to Firestone outlining these problems but no reply yet. more

Rude and Dishonest 4/17/2011

If there were NO stars I would give them that instead of one. This place is awful, I honestly don't know how they stay in business. I printed a quote off of the Firestone website for a battery replacement and the quote specifically states to bring it in (good for 30 days) to get the price on the quote. It was supposed to be $59 for the battery and $10 to install. The man (manager named Adam) was rude, told me there was "NO way" he could do it for that price and quoted me $47 to install the battery. What a complete ripoff and I do think they take advantage of women, shameful. Go anywhere but here. I've reported it to the home office but I doubt I'll hear anything back. more

They need to get right 4/5/2010

I am very disappointed with their organization. The first time I scheduled an appointment to get one of my tires fixed and rotated they forgot to put me on the schedule and said I would need to wait. The second time I decided to run some errands while I waited-I assumed that they took down proper notes from last time about what needed to be fixed. They did not, and called me five times wanting to know what tire I wanted repaired. When I called them back they put me on hold to find the person they thought called me. I finally decided to just go back and talk to them in person to save myself the trouble. I will never come back here again. I will also tell others not to come here. more

Firestone Tire & Auto Ctr is taking advantage of people 7/17/2009

I went to this store in Lee's Summit for 2 new tires and an alignment. I was called that afternoon by firestone informing me that the car could not be aligned due to the lower ball joints being bad. It was over $500 to replace them. I priced around and got the price of $300. The shop I took it to said that the ball joints were perfect. I took it to a third shop that agreed the ball joints were in perfect shape. Both of these shops told me that Firestone was notorious for fake repairs. Thanks for your help firestone you should be ashamed. more

caveat emptor! (let the buyer beware) 10/23/2008

I have been to this location several times and always had suspicion I was being ripped off. ( I think this of most mechanic shops so no need to stop going there) I had to have a head gasket replaced one time and they took over a week to get it dont then called me up and stated they would need a few more days due to the fact that when they were putting the exhaust manifold back on they broke it and had to get a replacement. 4 days after that I spoke with the manager and explained to him I had been without my car for nearly 2 weeks and this had been a big problem in many ways. I told him I expected the bill to be adjusted for the monies I was out for a rental car, several heated exchanges later we hammered out a deal. Then he told me "If I had known you were going to be this much trouble we wouldve just welded the manifold!!" Then there was the time I went in for an oil change and ended up buying a new timing belt then when I went to pick up the car I checked the oil and it was obvio more

Don't go to the Firestone in Lees Summit 7/20/2006

We went to this Firestone several times, and each time they screw something up. One day I tried to set up an appointment for the next day but the gentleman set it up for the same day and the time he set it up for was already passed. I went there next morning, the lady told me the appointment was for 'yesterday'. Another instance, I had the water pump and the radiator replaced (which I wasn't sure if it was necessary) and a few weeks later the car died while I was driving (for something unrelated). When we open up the hood, we found out that Firestone did not put the hose clamp correctly and it ruinned the timing belt (brand new). It was a good thing that the car died that day, or else I wouldn't know that the belt was really in a bad shape, which could have caused me my life if the belt slipped out while I'm driving in a highway. We went back to Firestone to let them know what happened and the manager act like it was normal for them to make mistake like that. We had other incidents wit more

Trying to make money off simpley needing 2 new tires 11/9/2005

I went in knowing I needed 2 new tires before leaving town for a 12 hour road trip. I went in and told them what I needed and later received a call saying I needed at least 4 different other services aside from the new tires and I also needed a allignement and they would warranty the new tires with out an allignement because my car was so far out of specks. more

Cheapskates trying to make an extra dollar off of a woman!! 7/22/2005

I had my car inspected by the Olathe Firestone, (very friendly and helpful) only because I work in that area. Then the weekend came and I was home, Lees Summit, MO--so I went to the location on Ward rd. They quoted that I would need new brake pads and Rotors, even though I didn't. Then my husband went in with the car and it was a different story. I didn't appreciate finding out that they added extra services that weren't needed, but lucky for me I didn't fall into the trap. I hope you don't either. PROS: close to highway CONS: bad service, wrong estimates, and un-needed repairs more
