Best

My husband and I recently purchased a 9 week old Mini-Bully puppy at Fetch. The workers there couldn't have been more helpful. Anything we wanted to know, they knew and told us....

Worst

Wouldn't shop there if it was the last pet store on earth. I think the associates were very discriminatory. I wouldn't shop there if it was the last pet store on earth.

My Experience at FETCH:\r \r The employees were actually quite helpful, even though what I've read from others sounded pretty bad. I adopted a blue merle Australian shepherd, and he is laying next to me right now. He is healthy and playful and doesn't show any aggression or problems. His name is Toby, and I hope that there are no hidden health problems. If there are, I don't know what I will do, but he seems fine, as energetic and playful as a normal puppy! Sorry for anyone else who had a bad experience at FETCH, and I pray for your dog if you adopted a sickly one. I am blessed to have adopted the breed of my dreams and for him to not be sickly or aggressive. Have a blessed day, and for all the others who didn't enjoy the staff, I hope they clean up their act. more

The staff was extremely helpful & friendly. Very knowledgeable & answered all our questions. We sat with one puppy for almost an hour and they were very patient with us! We fell in love and bought her - thank you for our new family member more

I fell in love with the Corgi breed 17 years ago so when I lost my 2nd Girl I called the manager at the Fetch Pet Store and she gave me a choice of two girls...Crissy has been with me 3 weeks and if there is anything wrong with her I just don't see it...She wants to play play play...She's had her first vet check and the vet said I had a fine healthy corgi... I keep hearing all the horror stories about pet stores buying from puppy mills...and do you think for one minute puppy mills will stop because you don't buy a puppy from a pet store...No they won't and where do you think all those dogs in shelters come from...I'd guess they came from a puppy mill...You can buy from a breeder that you know and still can have a dog with problems... If you think a dog looked sick you should report it to the humane society and not be bullied into buying a sick animal... Fetch must be doing something right because a lot of people buy puppies from them and they have stores everywhere...If you want a show dog then go and buy a show dog and pay show dog prices... more

I was in this store last weekend with my 2 teenaged daughters. They like to go in & play with the dogs. Usually I let each one pick a dog & we'll get one out at a time to play with. Well, we played with a golden retriever & my daughter took her back up & asked to see another dog. The employee said he couldn't come out to play, only if we were serious. Well, I (thinking that maybe that particular dog had been played with too much & that maybe she was just having an attitude since they were kids) went up and asked to see my daughter's 2nd choice. The RUDE B&$%* says in a snotty tone, ""Well, are you with them?"" I said, ""Yeah, why?"" & she said ""Well, you can only play with 1 dog unless you are serious"". I said ""Well, what if i'm not sure what type of dog to get?"" SO ridiculous, if I really were shopping for a dog & didn't know what I wanted, guess I'd be SOL! Guess if I didn't pick the ""right"" dog the 1st time, too bad! Completely ridiculous customer treatment!\r \r Also, I had purchased a dog from this about 10 years ago. They claimed that it was an ""unregistered purebred austrailian cattle dog"". The vet said NO it was a mix & see didn't look like pictures of any cattle dog I'd seen. When I called the manager, they said ""well, we saw both parents & they were blue heelers"". What a rip off!\r \r I can't believe this store is still in business...I won't step foot in there again! more

Do not buy a dog from this pet store or 6/8/2012

Do not buy a dog from this pet store or any pet store. Fetch is known to sell underage and sickly puppies. They say they purchase from breeders but they do not. They buy from puppy mills and people who dogs have litters. No breeder will sell it's puppies through a pet store! These poor puppies spend up to 5 months in a cramped little cage with no love and only the basic care. They are known to have issues with failure to thrive, mental problems, aggression problems etc. Due to horrible conditions and inbreeding. Also those puppies who have been there for awhile and haven't sold. They put them on sale and if they still don't sell they say they send them back to the breeders. Don't believe it they end up in a shelter or dumped or dead. Puppy mills don't take returns! more

Fetch Pet Store 4/10/2012

This store has the worst smelling dogs ever. Those poor puppies smell aweful. It seems like every time I go in there (which isn't often at all) one of the dogs will have old dog poop caked on it's butt. Once, I was given a dog with dog poop caked on it's butt and didn't know it until I was holding it. I kept smell poop and I asked my husband where was it coming from. We kept looking around and he saw it on the dog's butt. I was disgusted and really to go. I know I wouldn't get a dog from there at all. more

Dog bites me and my daughter in store 3/19/2012

I was in the store this past Saturday (Saint Patrick's Day, 17 Mar 2012) and my daughter and I wanted to play with the English Bulldog. One of the workers brought the dog in and we began playing with it. Within a couple of minutes of playing, the dog bit my daughter's leg near her ankle. She began to run away from him, jumping onto the bench. Since this only happened over a period of a few seconds, I did not realize that the dog had bitten her; I merely thought he ""nipped"" (as puppies do) her. I told her just to play with him with one of the toys they had available in the stall. As I offered the play rope to him to play, he latched onto my arm and would not let go. He sunk his teeth into me, causing me to bleed. You can actually see where the shape of his mouth went on my arm. I immediately tried to pry his mouth off of me due to the pain and scooped him up, giving him back to the employee stating, ""We don't want him! He bites!!"" and showed him my arm. The employee responded by saying, ""Yeah, he does bite"". \r \r They let this dog remain in the store, knowing he'd be around other kids?? There was no concern about my arm, the bleeding/bruising/swelling, or what the dog had done. I'm very disappointed in the staff and even more so with the store for keeping a dog that they know is not safe to be around others. more

Employee Abuses Puppy at Fetch! 2/13/2012

Today (2/13/12) my family and i went to Fetch to look at the puppies. They were not open yet so while we waited outside the store we seen an employee threw a puppy into its cage and yelled F**k you, you little bitch, F**k you. I wont be shopping there again. more

Our Experience at Fetch 11/21/2011

My husband and I recently purchased a 9 week old Mini-Bully puppy at Fetch. The workers there couldn't have been more helpful. Anything we wanted to know, they knew and told us. We took our new little girl (Sophie's her name) to our vet for a full check up as instructed. She has a clean bill of health and is really a sweetheart, has lots of energy, and loves us unconditionally...already! I just wanted to let folks know that we had a Wonderful experience at Fetch at Fairfield Commons Mall in Beavercreek! more

Employees 9/3/2011

My expierence at Fetch was HORRIBLE. I had to ask 3 times until I got an actual answer. The first time I said, ""Hi, I was wondering if I could get a price on this Dachshund."" They looked at me and then went to help another costumer. The second time I said the same thing, to the same employee, and I was ignored AGAIN. The third time I asked a different employee, and they said, ""Oh, we're only helping people that are actually interested in purchasing a dog."" DO NOT GO TO FETCH! more

Do not support puppy mills! 3/14/2011

This place is horrible. Went in there today because I needed a bed for my dog and I saw the pet accessories on the wall. I was horrified when I came in and all I saw were cages with puppies. Wire floor cages! One puppy was trying to find a comfortable spot but he couldn't lie down because there was nothing soft or warm for him to rest on. I pointed this out to the jaded employee who looked at me like I was crazy. People who believe this store does not buy from a puppy mill is insane. No reputable breeder will sell its puppies to a pet store. These puppies were obtained at puppy auctions and you don't have to be very smart to figure it out! This place needs to be shut down.... just like many PetLand stores. more

We fell in LOVE! 1/23/2011

Let me start by saying this... UNTIL yesterday, I was totally against buying an animal from a pet shop when so many animals need adopted from local shelters. (We currently have a dog and another cat that we've adopted from shelters & non profits.) My husband and I went into this location to ""burn some time"" while waiting for another retailer and found the newest member of our family! I spoke to one of the girls who worked there, who told me that because they are privately owned, they work with breeders and that is where they get their puppies. Whether this is TRUE or FALSE, let me tell you this: after I really put consideration in it, I realized that this little guy should not have to suffer not receiving a GOOD, LOVING home just because he is sitting in a cage in the pet store instead of at a shelter. It's not his fault where he comes from... he was born and he wants a loving family just like any other animal. We will be taking him to our family vet this week and I am sure he is healthy as he is a WONDERFUL little boy! If (in the event) he is not, we will cross that bridge when we get there as I would never consider returning him. :)\r \r STAFF: The staff are very helpful and nice. Great customer service and it seems as though they genuinely care & TAKE CARE of their animals. \r \r So far, I have NO complaints. We are so excited about our new addition! more

Left Broken Hearted 12/25/2010

This store and the store at dayton are owned by the same person, please read the reviews on the dayton fetch store also. I was left broken hearted by a puppy i purchased, didn't know until i took it to my vet. These stores should be closed and all stores like them. To bad we can't get intouch with the owner. more

No - look up a rescue site for the breed you want. 12/22/2010

A word of advice for both apologists for Fetch and potential buyers: do not ask if the dog in question came from a puppy mill - there is a very good chance that nobody working at the store will know for sure. It is better to simply ask if the dog is AKC registered, and to see the registration papers.\r \r AKC registry is no guarantee that the dog came from a reputable breeder, but it is probably the best existing indicator that the breeder *might* be reputable.\r \r Unfortunately, Fetch and other such retail pet outlets cite a confidentiality clause that prevents them from naming the breeder of any animal. This means that no AKC paperwork (which lists the breeder) will be available. This, in turn, means that there is no guarantee that either the dog is AKC registered or the breeder is in any way reputable... and as a strict matter of business sense, no guarantee should be interpreted as just plain ""NO.""\r \r I understand that purebred dogs sold at such mercenary outfits like Fetch cost less than those sold by AKC breeders. If money is an issue, then spend a few minutes online finding a nearby rescue organization for the breed that you like, and get a dog from them - it may not cost any less, but you'll be getting an animal from an organization that is concerned with the welfare of the dog, instead of from a corporation whose first and foremost concern is making a profit. more

I think it's a good place 10/9/2010

We tried to contact breeders, even went to two rescue shelters, and finally contacted people who said they had rescued puppies. We had no luck. We went to Fetch & received great service. The next day we went in to buy, but first I asked about the company & puppy milling. I was told that Fetch is a privately owned company not a chain - no head quarters, no board of directors - just the owner - George Fetch. I was also told that the manager has working relations with the breeders. I like the guarantee for 3 years on the puppy. Any one can scam you, but I felt it was okay. I like that my puppy had only been there for 3 days. Two weeks later & she is a doll with a good disposition. I do wish they would give written information about the parents and the fact that they sell to anyone with money, but then again so does everyone. I liked that I could stay and interact with the puppy and take my time. Bad dogs usually have bad trainers! Even shelter dogs can be trained pretty well - so complaints are usually lack of understanding. more

Fetch buys dogs from puppy mills 2/18/2010

This store and all other mall pet stores buy their dogs from puppy mills. Puppy mills are places where dogs are kept in stacked, tiny wire cages, urinating and defecating on one another and forced to breed so they can sell the puppies to pet stores. The dogs never see sunlight, never touch the grass and never feel a loving touch from a human. When they are no longer able to breed, they are simply shot and their bodies burned. The breeding stock, as they're called, have many genetic defects that are passed along to those cute puppies you see IN THIS STORE. Most of the puppies either already have diseases or are incubators of disease. Almost EVERY SINGLE ONE. Fetch and all mall pet stores are trying to sell you sick dogs for an unbelievable profit. It costs cents on the dollar to ""raise"" a puppy mill dog, these stores are selling you, the consumer, these sick puppies for sometimes thousands of dollars. Ask to see the paperwork on where a dog in a puppy store comes from, if its from out of state, it's from a puppy mill. The staff everyone complains about here are trained to say that the puppies are from a local breeder. THEY ARE NOT. They may also tell you that the dogs will be euthanized if they are not sold at the store. This is completely false. They will cut the price over and over again (while still turning a profit). If the dog still does not sell at the ""reduced"" price, they will give the dog away rather than euthanizing it or giving it back to the puppy mill. A puppy mill will not do business with a store that returns too many dogs. Please, do not buy a dog from a puppy store. There are many dogs available for adoption in local shelters, no matter where you live. There are many, many purebred dogs in shelters as well. Visit petfinder to see a list of dogs in your local shelter. You can also google prisoners of greed to find out exactly how puppy mills operate and to see photos as well. (sorry, no urls allowed in the post) Please, please...don't buy from Fetch or any other mall pet store. Pros: Absolutely none. Never buy a dog from a pet store. Cons: they buy their puppies from a puppy mill. sick, sick, sick. more
