Quality doors for the price. Easy to install. 10/5/2012

Only one complaint. Doors were crated fine and looked to be in excellent condition. However, doors cannot be unrolled until they are installed. When I unrolled my doors there were several scratches down to the metal that I had to use touch up paint on. They tell you to inspect the doors upon delivery but that is hidden damage that clearly happend at the manufacturer. Still a good door at a good price. more

I wasn't sure at first about the company because I had never heard of them. But everything turned out just fine. I'm very happy with the doors and the overall experience. Putting up the big 10x10 doors was a bit of a challenge but some help with ropes and pullies did the trick. more

When I first called for prelim information the rep who answered was friendly and helpful, and even suggested ways I might save money. The rep who took the order was all business and no extras such as "have a nice day", "thanks for your business" kind of thing. She did a good job of taking my order and making sure it was accurate. I realize a more personal, friendlier approach is not for everyone, and there may even be good reason not to be, it just seems nicer to do business with someone like that. No complaints, just an observation. more

Great price for an amazing door 9/11/2012

Bought a Garage door for my new home. The representative made it very easy for me to buy the door. I'm a total newb when it comes to buying doors, specially online. They made it easy to understand how to install the door. It took no time and i did it all by myself. The price was competitive and after much research i came to the conclusion that doors direct had the best prices around. Super recommended A+++ more

Great service 8/15/2012

Ordered by phone after extensive research. Person I spoke with answered all questions, and got through the purchase process as quick as I wanted to go. A minor typo in the original invoice was corrected immediately. Shipping was very quick to Northern Washington State. Install took the entire day, but most of that was framing the garage. The door install itself was about 30 minutes. My door was 8'x8' and was WAY heavier to lift and put in place than the installers in the video made it look. The height added to the difficulty. Still, two of us did it. Instructions were overy complicated and confusing in parts. Some instructions were not quite clear. Would have liked a simple one-page how-to for typical installs. I'm sure customer service would have been able to help, but I was in a remote location (cottage) with no mobile phone service for 35 miles. Did not like that I had to drill holes in my new door to install the draft seal. Overall, I would recommend Buy Doors Direct. more

Door was not properly prepared for installation and was missing parts. 8/13/2012

This review does not imply that I was in any way dissatisfied by the way I was treated by Sheryl Mertz or the ordering process in any way. The installation problems I encountered were due to missing install parts, and the guides not being properly prepared for the installation of the optional bottom bar mounted interior slide locks. These issues should have been caught on the pick-up loading dock when I asked if I had everything I needed to install the optional interior slide locks. The staff at the dock should have known I was missing a packet of install hardware and they also should have checked the door guides and would have seen that the cutouts necessary for the optional slide locks to work had not been cut into the bottom of the side guides. The missing parts and the need for me to cut slots in the bottom of the guides caused me many hours of extra time in order to install this door on a Friday evening. I was not very happy about this. I am very satified with the service and ease of installation. The door came in a day earlier than it was suppose to. My friend and I installed it in about an hour having never installed one before. I looks great the color matched my building perfectly. It was very well packaged also. more

I felt like the crating of the door was a little weak. One piece was bent but I fixed it. I told customer service but they did not seem to care. RESPONSE FROM DOORS DIRECT: I am very surprised to hear that you had a bad experience with our service team as they normally try to help in any way they can, as quick as they can. Customer service is one of our most important parts of our company. more
