It had been 38 years since I had last visited Disneyland. I'm sorry that I waited so long. In its timeless fashion, Disney keeps delivering. I had fun just being a kid again. The ...

Not quite as much magic these days 7/4/2005

I have been a fan of the Mouse since 1961. my first trip. They should have left the Electic Parade at Disneyland. I thought about trying to take my 6yr granddaughter there again-she moves to KY next week- the high price & crowds of summer combined with changes of past few years made me decide against it. There will always be magic there, but changes in Disney personnel attitude are not to my liking. Walt would NOT be happy with some of the ways Michael is handling things. Not all want bigger roller coaster rides - and why was Country Bear Jambouree removed? Too many out of control kids- not all of those are minors either! last trip in 2004 was not as magical for either adults or kids. We are going to the LA Co museums this week. Pros: Fantasmic show, fireworks, wonderful music Cons: high priced, too crowded more

Where dreams come true 7/3/2005

I grew up in So.Cal and my parents were vip customers we would go every year and stay at the Disneyland Hotel. And now I am also a vip customer as well ,you get a lot more perks if you are a vip One of them is I can always get a room whenever I want and it is always ready when I arrive. If you ever stayed at the Disneyland Hotel you know that most people have to leave there luggage with the bellman and go to the park and come back later to check in because there room isn't ready. Here are a few tips, get the Fast Pass you can watch the people that didn't get a fast pass glare at you, ,go by the fire station on main st Walt use to stay upstairs, the smart people go in Jan Or Feb Pros: V.I.P, Character breakfast more

The Honest Truth 6/19/2005

We are big Disney fans and had been saving for months to take our three year old. We went in Mid-May and it was INSANELY busy. Granted, it is the 50 year anniversary, but we had to wait in line at least 45 minutes for rides, to eat, and anything else. we had a 4 day flex pass and still didn't get to see everything because of the time we spent waiting in line. We were traveling with a disabled person and the staff was extremely unhelpful and most of the attractions are not disabled-friendly. Our daughter was on sensory overload. She wouldn't sleep or eat and became a little nightmare. I wish we would have waited until she was a bit older. With all of that said, though, we do have some treasured moments and will go again at a less busy time. Pros: Some Great Memories, Character Breakfast Cons: Wait Times, Not Disabled Friendly, Expensive more

My DisneyLand Story and Tips 6/18/2005

I have gone to DisneyLand twice and plan to go in mid August. It is so incredibly wonderful there! I have just a few tips that might be helpful: 1. Generally with rides that have 2 lines, the left side moves faster. 2. While waiting for the Matterhorn, choose the side that goes around Tommorowland (I have heard it has a longer track, and the line moves faster VS. Fantasyland side) 3. Use the FASTPASS, it is genius. 4. During the mid-afternoon when lines and heat are at it's peak, go shopping in air-conditioned stores when others are sweating it out in line you can relax and get shopping done. 5. If you are not interested in night shows you have hit the jackpot for short lines! While others are watching get in line for long-waiting attractions like Indiana Jones, Space Mt., etc. Pros: Rides, Employees, Absolutely Magical Cons: Expenses, Long Lines more

Disneyland with a Dose of Reality 5/12/2005

Having visited Disneyland at least 8 times since Grad Nite in 1980, I have noticed many changes in the park, like overcrowding, considerably less park/ride maintenance, higher admission costs and lack of security when it comes to drunken/high ""guests"" in DCA (which also happens to serve alcohol in a couple of their restaurants). Despite these drawbacks, I still recommend a trip to Disneyland. The main consistency has been that the park employees are always kind and friendly. Plus the Monte Cristo sandwiches at the Blue Bayou restaurant are the greatest. Pros: Atmosphere, Rides, Good Restaurants Cons: Overcrowding, Lazy security in DCA, Bored local teens more

I love Disneyland! 5/12/2005

I've loved Disneyland since I was a very small child. I'm 47, and my parents started taking me since I was quite small. I grew up in Orange County, so had a chance to go frequently. When a boyfriend at one time offered me an annual pass, I jumped at the chance! I love jazz music, and they were playing it daily in the summer. I went every day all summer long. I'll never tire of Disneyland. I'd like to see Disney World someday, but am happy Disneyland is in my backyard. Christmas is my favorite time to go! They dress it up wonderfully! And they have a Christmas store there year round! Pros: Attractions, Main Street, Shopping Cons: Price more

disneyland rocks 5/8/2005

i love disneyland it is awsome you should go people of all ages will love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Great for the family! 5/7/2005

I live in Washington, have been going to Disneyland since I was a kid, now taking my kids there every year. We started taking them when they are infants. Alot of people think they have to wait until they are older - not true! Kids of any age will find something to do and will love it! I have found the best time of year to go to be around Halloween... no lines and the weather is still perfect. Its not open as late during the week but its still great, and the little ones wear out fast anyway. We save money by buying annual passes. Its good for a year from the date you buy it and you can go as often as you want during that time. If you're going to go more then once in a years time this is definately the way to go!!! more

Be kid again 4/14/2005

I have been to Disneyland 5 times. My first time was when I was 33, I felt like a kid let loose in the most magical place on earth. Now my kids are enjoying it. We just came back before Christmas 2004. It was the best! Recommend it highly! Pros: Fast Pass, Great Rides, Great Entertainment Cons: High Priced Food more

The Happiest Place on Earth... really! 7/13/2004

How could you not love this park. It has great food, shops and attractions. All other parks have nada. Since when have you taken a flight on Dumbo in Cedar Point or blasted off into space in Santa Cruz. I love this park sooo much. Go there and believe. (P.S you have to go on the Indiana Jones ride!!!) Pros: Imagination, Indiana Jones ride, Soooo much fun! Cons: , The day goes by fast more

The Best...for Any Age 7/5/2004

My fiancee and I used to live in Nor-Cal, and even thenwe held SeasonPasses. Now we've relocated to so-cal(for school)and go at least once a month. While it is a bit pricey if you just buy a one day pass, season-passes are great. Lines get long in the summer, but nothing beats winter disneyland with the decorations and events. As for the food-we can eat cheaper in disneyland then we can many places in LA County! Try Storytellers in the Grand-CA hotel, or Boudin's in DCA. Disneyland is great even if you don't have kids!! The only problem I ever have is with people who refuse to use the smoking areas and blow it all over the place, and parents who refuse to control their children. I've taken my brother twice, when he was 8 and again at 11, and there was no screaming going on there...figure it out people. Pros: Great Food, Great Fireworks, Good place to hangout Cons: , uncontrolled children more

Where Childhood Never Dies 5/3/2004

Although the last time I have been to Disneyland was while they were remodeling Tomorrowland, the place still has its charm and sense of fun that you become totally immersed in. I almost am ready to require myself to go at least once a year. Pros: Wanting to be there Cons: Overpriced souvenirs more

Great Place! 8/25/2003

We live 700 miles from Disneyland, and have had Premium annual passes for 2 years. We try to go 3 times a year, but made it there 5 times last year. What a great place to enjoy being a kid, with your grandkids! I wish that they would add more of the fun rides that they have added in WDW. I am very upset that Country Bear has been removed and a very lame ride of Winnie the Pooh was built. They could have done better! Pros: Magical, Fast Pass!, Something for everyon Cons: Closes early in winte, Expensive more

Admission price is high 7/20/2003

......so that would be my only negative. I would recommend only trying to do ONE place for a day trip (Disneyland, CA Adventure, or Downtown Disney). What I found works best is 3 days/3 nights. Choose to spend a day at the CA Adventure and a day at Disneyland. Leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy shoppng and dining and events at the Disney Resort at night and on the third day go back and see anything at both places that you missed. Get a good night's sleep and check out the next day. Be sure to use those reserve tickets. There is a New Orleans style restaurant in Downtown Disney that is yummy. The house of Blues was great. I wish they would have a second IMAX theatre in the CA Adventure. The one they have about CA is fantastic and should stay, but another one would be welcome. Pros: Great restaurants, Short lines, Friendly employees more

Gone Downhill 7/17/2003

I worked at Disneyland in Anaheim 25 years ago. I go there occasionally and find it has gone way down hill. They don't keep the park maintenance up anymore and it is not as clean. They used to make us work hard to keep everything in the ""magical"" wonder it was, but not is anymore. Items are worn, trash lay on the ground and rules are not enforced (smoking area's are a joke, people smoke where they want). Plus NEVER go in the summer, the week of Christmas or on a weekend anytime. In the summer and at Christmas you pay $50/person and get to ride 2-3 rides all day because of the crowd. If your kids want to go, take a day off from work and go on a Wednesday or Thursday, best bet for the dollar. Pros: Better parking w/tram Cons: people smoking inline, LONG LONG LONG lines, employee's don't care more

I Dont Want To Grow Up 7/17/2003

I've been going to Disneyland every year since I was 8 months old and I have never been bored or disappointed with ""The Happiest Place On Earth"". From its memorable characters to its whimsical lands, Disneyland is like a place of innocence where everyone, including Grandparents and Grandchildren, can have fun together. In my opinon Disneyland is much like Neverland - a place where you'll never grow up and the fun and adventures never stop! Pros: Memorable, Fun, Mickey Mouse Cons: expensive, broken rides, not open long enough more

Happest Place On Earth 7/16/2003

I want to thank all the employees that work at the Happest Place On Earth. Everyone is always so cheerful and happy. Thanks again for making Disneyland the best place ever. Pros: cheerful, happy, great Cons: inexpensive, DCA hours later more

Disneyland: A Great Place! 6/20/2003

I am an premium annual passholder at Disneyland and I just love it. Since I am a Socal resident, I can go often... I have been 15 times this year so far. The attractions, facilities, service, etc. is great. Also, what sets Disneyland off from other theme parks is the extensive theming. Disney imagineers do a great job! Disneyland cast members (employees) are great, too! With the 50th anniversary of Disneyland coming in 2005, the park will just get even better! Pros: Great attractions, Friendly cast members, Magical atmosphere Cons: Crowded on weekends, expensive, Ride 101s - breakdown more

Magic! 6/18/2003

As a child and a teen I visited Disneyland, and now as a parent I love it even more! There is no other place as Magical as the Disneyland Resort. It may be expensive, but if you buy a vacation package that includes park hopper tickets it can be very reasonable in the end. Be sure to catch the Electric Light Parade in California Adventure, but with kids, you spend the majority of your time in Disneyland. Never Fear, there is plenty to do for toddlers, babies and up. It is pure magic. Also, if you go in September there are basically NO LINES, and all the rides are open the first two weeks of september. Pros: Great Staff, Fun FUn FUN, Lots to do more

disney honest truth 5/24/2003

as a season pass holder i go there once a month. every time i go there they always have several attractions closed. they havent made a new ride worth ride since the mr. disney run the place. save your money dont even go close to california adventure park. you may wonder why i have a season pass, well several rides are the best (done in mr. disney old days). Avoid weekends, extremely overcrowd Pros: pirates of the caribe Cons: crowded, expensive more
