It had been 38 years since I had last visited Disneyland. I'm sorry that I waited so long. In its timeless fashion, Disney keeps delivering. I had fun just being a kid again. The ...

Magical 8/22/2006

The Crowds: True, Disneyland will almost always be packed. There are better times to go, obviously right after the summer season and right before the holiday rush (between September and October) and after the holiday rush but before Spring Break (between January and April). Just expect that things might take longer than you like, however, chances are youll still get to do everything you wanted to. Pros: A Great Way To Make Memories To Last A Lifetime! more

Disneyland... 7/15/2006

Disneyland is by far one of the most unique and fun places to visit. Sure, it can get pretty busy at times, but it is still a really neat place to go to. The atmosphere and the rides/entertainment make up for all of that money we lose as well! Pros: Awesome Atmosphere, Rides, and fairly good Food. Cons: Avoid the weekends, summer months, and ANY Holiday weeks/weekends - tends to be VERY crowded. Long lines and can get quite expensive if you have a large family. more

The small Magical experience 7/14/2006

I have been to both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland...although Disneyland is wonderful as is Magic Kingdom, it is also just the beginning of all the wonder Walt had to offer Pros: Was a wonderful experience to see the beginning Cons: not enough to do for a week long trip more

BusinessLand 7/14/2006

WHo rated this in the top 10? Really? The rides are as old and outdated and the California Adventure is really lame. Also....whats up with the shopping mall attached to it? I brought a guy from China to see it and he was really overwhelmend by all the Disney logo stuff for sale and found the rides ""stale"". Cons: Too many to list more

Disneyland is so AWESOME! 2/19/2006

Disneyland is just awesome, the place has a feel to it that just has to be experienced! The place is more like a museum than a theme park, the rides are not super insane, but they sell you on the little details, like pirates of the carribean, Its not super scary but the whole time your jaw is on the boat floor because its so beautiful! Unlike other parks where its the opposite, super scary roller coaster but super ugly and dirty! The employees are very nice, and its not that exspensive. I recommend the cheap annual pass since the days you dont want to go are conveniently blacked out! I need a life, since I'm writing this, heck,I'm goin back to DISNEYLAND. woot woot =) Pros: super fun, clean, safe friendly Cons: no in&out burger, need a new super ride more

The One and Only 2/14/2006

I have been going to disneyland since i was born...LITERALLY! I have never had problems with the park ever in my life. Ive been going their anytime i can. I recently married at the park in september 2005 and i will continue to go and even bring my kids. Its brings such joy to my life to know that the disneyland tradition is still alive and going strong. Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

Still Magical 2/7/2006

I always enjoyed going to Disneyland as a kid, and now that I'm adult, I'm very pleased to find it every bit as magical as the first time I went. I never go in the summer or on weekends, which are no doubt insanely crowded. In January and September, lines are very short, the staff seems to be relaxed and the costumed characters are more personal with the kids. Food prices are expensive, but no worse than any other theme park. It's also much cleaner than my last trip 5 years ago. For the best possible experience, go during the aformentioned months and stay between mon-fri. I'd recommend coming to the park later in the day at least once, so that you have some energy left to enjoy the park's beauty at night. Don't forget to buy tickets in advance and take advantage of multi-day/family discounts! Pros: Family fun, clean, lots to do more

It is Great 11/22/2005

I have been going to Disneyland at least two times a year and I can't get enough of it. I can't believe anyone who would say that the staff is rude and with all the new parades and fireworks this year is even better. The food is great and not as expensive as other places I've gone to. We stay in the hotel which helps me feel like a king and it has great service. I'm going this Christmas so it's going to be even greater than last time. Please if you want to go somewhere that's fun for the whole family go to Disneyland! Pros: Great Rides, It has two parks, hours of operation more

We're going to the 50TH Anniversary 10/9/2005

We go to Disneyland every other year for a week, we just love it. Fun for everyone and it beets the real world any day. Were going this year for the first time over the Christmas Holiday. We bought one of the 50th Anniversary paving stones. We cant wait to see it and the big parades this year. Whats with all the whining? Long lines and Crowded: Its Disneyland. I dont go to Disneyland expecting to be the only one there. Expensive: Its not expensive for what you get, Cable TV is expensive for what you get. Disneyland is steel for what you get. Out of Control Children: 99% of the kids at Disneyland are having fun. Take a kid to a toy store and there going to want a toy. Take a kid to Disneyland and they just might act just like a kid. Pros: Family Fun more

By far the best! 8/19/2005

Disneyland, expensive? sure it is... but then we went to Sea World in San Diego and it cost $40.95 for my 7 year old son's admission. That's a lot of money just to look at fish. The kind of superior quality Disneyland offers is a bargain for what they charge. I'll agree that the food is pricey, though, and that some of the cast members (anyone who calls them 'employees' is out of the loop) have an attitude problem, but when you employ thousands of people you're bound to get a few surly teenagers in the bunch. You can't hold Disneyland responsible for thoughtless moms with strollers or idiots who climb out of boat #4 on Pirates of the Carribean. They may check your purses and backpacks at the main gate, but they can't check IQs. It's still the cleanest, safest, classiest place to take the family. Long Live Disneyland! Pros: rides/attractions, cleanliness, diversity Cons: crowds/lines more

It's a wonderful place, if you know when to go! 8/19/2005

Disneyland is for all ages! I take my wife and 2 boys all the time (we have the annual passes). If you go in the off peak months especially Sept. & Oct. you wait less than 5 minutes on most rides. Another good time is mid week in the early evening. With the annual passes it's nice to go for just a couple of hours and still hit 5-7 rides. We got the Deluxe Annual Pass ($189. Ea.) and we go probably 25-30 times a year. That's just $6-$7 per person per trip on average. Word of the wise though - Eat at one of the dozens of restaurants nearby before going in or pack snacks. Pros: It's Disneyland, Kids love it, Quality attractions Cons: Can be expensive, Can be Chaotic more

I recommend you go there - ONCE! 8/12/2005

How can you NOT recommend Disneyland? It's DISNEYLAND! That's about all it has going for it. Prices are too high, crowds are too large and lines are too long. Your choices are to stand in line for 1 - 2 hours (which I can't believe anyone in their right mind would do) or crisscross your way through the unbearable crowds across the Park collecting and using Fast Passes. Once you collect your Fast Pass, you can't collect another one for a certain period of time, which adds to the down time. The other option is to go as single riders, which isn't possible with younger children. On the positive side, the Park is absolutely beautiful. The Disneyland employees were all cheerful and friendly. We had fun together and our kids got to experience the rich tradition of Disneyland. In that sense, it was all worth it, but once is enough! Pros: Rich tradition, beautiful park, friendly staff Cons: Massive crowds, high prices, long lines more

The time of our lives! 8/12/2005

We recently visited both Disneyland and California Adventure. This was the first time for our family and the first time for either my wife and I. Our children are ages 17, 14 and 11. We could not have asked for a better vacation this year. It was everything we expected and more! There was no more than a 30 minute wait for any attraction at either park and we only used the fast pass a couple of times. This was out of convienience because we wanted to grab a bite to eat. We traveled by R.V. so our accomodations were taken care of and we made most meals. So our costs were cut considerably (with the exception of gas!) The park was easy to locate and parking was convienient. All of the kids agreed for next year, Hawaii or Disneyland and they ALL want to come back here! Pros: Great Parking, Clean, Fun more

Never Get Tired of Disney 8/12/2005

After going to Disney World 4 staright years we decided to do Disneyland last November. We loved it just as much. Yes it's 2 less parks but we covered both parks in 2 days. November is off season so the lines were almost non-existent. For those who say the prices are too high I'd like to know where else they go, all the ticket prices are similar at theme parks that aren't half as nice a Disney and the food is expensive everywhere. Disney is always a great value for us. We will be back in November to experience the 50th anniversary. The staff is not as good as WDW but we haven't experinced anyone being rude. Our only complaint is we've been Disneyland twice in the last 10 years and both times the Matterhorn has been closed and it's a ride that isn't in WDW. Pros: Great attractions, Clean, great value more

I despise this park. 8/11/2005

I have never liked this park, even when I was a small child. The rides have always bored me, the lines have always been long, and it has also been too expensive. I know all of the many ways to avoid long lines, but that is only a short fix. The workers are extremely rude to people who they know to be locals also. The food is not good at all and very overpriced. The only time I would go is if someone else were paying and it was a weekday during the schoolyear. Cons: security, lines, price more

Expensive Fun 7/31/2005

I have been an annual passholder for ten years and have always loved Disneyland. Yet, I am not sure the fun is worth the prices these days. Sure, a pass pays off after just a few visits, but overall, the prices are ridiculous. Sometimes I find the staff to be non-accomadating, but overall they are friendly. Summer is always crowded, no matter what day you choose to go. Some days throughout the off-peek months are fabulous, giving you the ability to just walk through the lines. FastPass and Single Rider lines are the way to go otherwise! I must recommend the newly reopened Space Mountain above all else, because those Imagineers are geniuses! Pros: Fun, Annual Passes, Space Mountain Cons: Staff sometimes, Crowds, Prices more

A couple of tips from my senior trip... 7/24/2005

The best time to go on the bigger rides like Indian Jones is right before the park closes. Just jump off after the ride and run through the empty line! The Matterhorn seems to operate at a much faster speed when all the little kids go home. Watch out for the parades - make sure you're where you want to be for the next hour, because it's difficult to go around. Just stay away from Main Street altogether if you've already seen it. Don't ever stand up on the Pirates of the Caribbean in attempt to switch boats. For some reason, this is highly frowned upon and a loudspeaker voice says, ""YOU IN BOAT #4 - SIT DOWN!!!"", which kind-of ruins the atmosphere. Besides, the boats are way too far apart to jump between in the middle of the ride anyway, and you might get all wet. =) Pros: Fireworks, Always Makes U Smile, Pressed Pennies Cons: Too Crowded, Too Hot, Too Expensive more

Manaical Moms with strollers 7/13/2005

I never got to go to Disneyland as a kids so when my friends and I went this summer I had high expectations. The rides were great( when they weren't breaking down, Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain all broke down in my 2 day stay) but the food WAY overpriced, too many demon children running around, and what's with women with strollers thinking that they own the street? I also thought a lot of the staff was extremely rude. However, I didn't think the lines were that bad, and I got to see Tigger and Pooh, so that was great. Pros: Fireworks, Rides, Clean park Cons: demonic children, expensive food, rude staff more

Disneyland on its 50th 7/12/2005

We just got back from visiting Disneyland for the 50th anniversary. Lines were extremely long. There were lots of there, sometimes just getting through the crowd was a huge problem. The food prices were high, but I would not pay over $5 for a hot dog. There were thousands of strollers and dodging them was impossible. The parents could be very obnoxious when they wanted to get through. There were a lot of tiny, tiny babies. Disneyland was clean and pretty, and all the cast members were wonderful. I would recommend to anyone to go to Disneyland this year because it is so beautiful. Pros: Great rides, Friendly cast members, Good value for the mo Cons: Strollers, Food prices, Long lines more

Been there, done that, and I'll do it again 7/12/2005

Growing up in Northen CA, Disneyland was always a very special treat. Now that we've moved to SoCAL, It is just as wonderous. Summer months are insane, there is no question about that. The off season is definetly the time to visit. Christmas in disney was the most spectacular thing I have ever seen. after the fireworks, they played ""White Christmas"" and made it SNOW down Main Street! Very Norman Rockwell. In the hot afternoons, go see Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. an outstanding Show with some very funny guys. Fantasmic is another must see show. If you got the benjemins, you can buy preferred seating. They served adults hot coffee, and kids hot cocoa, and everyone got a very gool dessert pack. $$$ Pros: Character breakfast, Fastpass, Shows Cons: most food is fried, summer crowds more
