WILL NOT leave you alone if you deign to cancel an appointment because you found your dresses locally and don't need to drive 60 miles to get there. Now they keep calling me, like they're annoyed that I don't want to tell them AGAIN that I don't need to reschedule an appointment. Stop fricking calling me telling me I NEED to call back for very important business!!!! more

Diappointing 7/21/2011

This was my first experience with David's Bridal. As the mother of the groom I made an appt and the consultant pulled several dresses for me and then left. Didn't see her again until right at the end. Decided on a style that was very flattering but needed another color. The size I tried on fit perfectly. The dress arrived and I went for my fitting appt. As soon as I put it on, I could tell it was too short and one side was much shorter than the other...I measured and it was 1 1/2"" shorter on one side than the other. I am only 5' 5 1/2"". The alterations woman told me I could wear ""flipflops"" and then also told me I should have ordered a size larger...that's why it was too short. I couldn't believe she said that...flipflops are not exactly formal wedding attire! The bride and my daughter both said it fit perfectly. Feeling I was stuck with this dress, I spent a whole day looking for flat shoes to wear and then became frustrated and called the store. Kristin assured me that she would find a dress at another store and have it shipped, which she did. A few days later I went to try the new dress. It was also too short, but at least the hem was straight. I ended up with 1"" heels to make it look right. Do you know how hard it is to find dressy looking 1"" heels? The whole process was very disappointing. In the end the style looked great, but I should have been warned about the length if this dress runs so short. Would not take the chance on ordering from David's again. more

AWFUL 6/29/2011

I wish I would of read the reviews before I went to this store! All I wanted was shoes - so I was treated like I was bothering them more than anything. The guy talked my into shoes that did not fit - but, he was so pushy I found myself just wanted to purchase the shoes and leave. Now I called to exchange the shoes and they have to order my size! From what I read online ... I better have a backup plan for my shoes. My advice to any customer - Do NOT go to David's Bridal in Duluth, MN! more

Horrible customer service~ 6/4/2011

""Great Experience"" was VERY fortunate! I am not originally from MN but ""MN nice"" does NOT hold true at David's Bridal in Duluth. The older women who works there is NASTY to say the least. She would be better as a dog groomer or doing something where minimal interactions with people is required! What happened with me is that I received an email that I had 14 days to pick up my shoes (which had been dyed to match the dress I bought through them). I traveled 2 hours to Duluth and when I got there I was told to come back a few hours later because they had not been dyed yet. I went back a few hours later and was totally ignored. The least that could have been said was ""were sorry but they are still not ready"". But instead the workers kept helping other customers and I waited for at least 20 min. The older women worker stepped in and was NOTHING but rude about it..... Will never go back to David's Bridal at Duluth or probably any other David's Bridal! more

Great Experience 5/1/2011

After seeing numerous bad reviews and hearing from friends & family about bad experiences at Davids Bridal in Duluth we decided we still wanted to check it out.\r \r We went over on March 5th and was welcomed at the door for my scheduled appointment. My consultant for the day was Jamie S and she was very helpful. I had selected a couple of favorites from the website, she brought those along with a bunch of other styles for me to try on. After I had tried on many dresses we went back to one of the first and that was the one I ended up getting.\r \r I was told that the dress would be in at the end of April (approximately 6 weeks) I got an email the end of March letting me know it was in.\r \r We also selected bridesmaid dresses and ordered them on March 5th. They advised they would be in the end of June (16 weeks), the middle of April my sisters received emails that their dresses were in.\r \r We were able to go over on April 23 and pick up all three dresses in one trip. Once again we had excellent service trying on the dresses. They even gladly steamed my dress before I took it home!\r \r A very great experience after hearing all the negativity.\r I can hardly wait until August 13th for my wedding so I can wear my dress!!!! more

DO NOT GO HERE 5/1/2011

I've had good experience until now with Davids Bridal. They couldn't keep my order straight, was told it wasn't in, then it was in but not done yet, then it wasn't in again, and finally they had it?? Horrible experience, will not use in future. more

Go Else Where! 3/30/2011

My friend (bride) and I (maid of honor) had received a phone call from them after purchasing our dresses on a Tuesday saying we have to come pick up our dresses by that Friday or they will ship it to us and we will be charged. Apparently our dresses had been in for over a month and we had never gotten notified until last minute. We both had moved out of the state shortly after purchasing our dresses with them. We were both in the area a week prior to the phone call so obviously if we knew we would of picked them up but needless to say we could not pick them up so they were shipped... my dress arrived perfectly fine BUT my friend's, the BRIDE.... her dress was lost in the mail and David's Bridal would not replace it, she had to buy a new dress. Besides the whole miscommunication and not replacing the dress.... it was an ok experience being in the store trying on the dress. They want to help you find the dress YOU want... they really make sure that you don't just settle. more

They don't know what they're doing! 10/23/2010

On February 20th I went with my friend to David's Bridal when she went to choose wedding dresses. She chose a dress for herself and her bridesmaids dresses as well. I ordered my dress and they said they'd email me when it came in. Meanwhile, in May I ordered another bridesmaid dress for a wedding in August. I got professionally measured and gave them the measurements. They suggested I order a size 2, which is much smaller than I expected. I told them I had ordered a size 6 for a different upcoming wedding. They reluctantly ordered a size 6. I asked about the other dress I had ordered and they said it was in, but needed to go through another inspection. I got an email for my dress for the August wedding saying it was in. I called and requested it to be shipped in 3-5 days (which i paid extra to do.) Eight days later my dress had yet to arrive. I called David's and my dress was still sitting in their store. The size 6 was a perfect fit. Fast forward to October. Still no word on my dress. Another bridesmaid offered to pick my dress up when she went to get hers. I called to let them know. About an hour later they called and told me my dress had arrived in ""less than perfect"" condition so they would be sending it back. After multiple phone calls and several associates later, we found out that my dress was expected to arrive a few days later. They called and offered to ship it for no charge and it would arrive 10-15 days later. This was on October 4th. Its now October 23rd. Still no dress. I called to day to get an update, and they said they would have to get back to me. Four hours later they called and said my dress would be there in 2-3 days. I guess we'll see about that... more

Don't Know Why There's So Many Bad Reviews... 7/24/2010

This was my first time dress shopping, my first store, and I ended up buying the first dress I tried on (5 hours and 2 stores later...just in case). I had been warned about David's Bridal but I wanted to check it out just in case. \r \r I was greeted right away by the girl at the front desk who helped me get started, since I had no idea how to even go about dress shopping. Then, as soon as she helped me get some ideas, she called in the sales girl, who was great! I tried on about 8 dresses there and she was a huge help getting me in and out of dresses, pulling dresses that I had flagged and reccommending others, and helping me with accessories. \r \r In the end, I chose a dress that was a brand new design to the store. I ended up with half the sales team, including the manager out to see me in it. I definitely got personal attention!\r \r Perhaps what helped was that my Mom and I went at about 1:30 on a Friday afternoon. There were only about 4 other brides in the store. I left to comparison shop for a few hours and when I returned my sales girl still had everything waiting for me ""just in case."" It was busier by then... and there were a few times when I had to wait a max of 10 minutes for her to be available to help me out of a dress, but who cares? It gave me a chance to try all the accessories :) \r \r In comparison, I went to Princess Bridal, which has great reviews online. The sales ladies there were very nice...but not very helpful. My Mom and I chose our own dresses, squeezed into a tiny changing room, and she had to help me in and out of everything. I was a size 4 trying on size 16 dresses!! Also, the place was so small that we were constantly tripping over the other group in there. We would have to step into chaning rooms so the other group could walk by, or vice versa. \r \r All in all, I had a great experience at David's Bridal. The staff was kind and helpful, and didn't pressure me at all. Maybe the experience would have been different if I had gone at a busier time, but just find the time to go on a weekday! Pros: Great service, great selection Cons: ??? more

Wouldn't refer anyone to them if they paid me! 3/4/2010

I was very excited to be at my appointment to try on wedding dresses! After about three or four I found ""the one"". The girl helping us was friendly, maybe too friendly as she kept walking into my fitting room which opens up to the middle of the store. I was pretty mortified when suddenly the door would just swing open and she'd have another accessory for me to put on.\r I ended up purchasing my dress at half off as it was a discontinued gown, which was great. I was told that I needed to call later that week to schedule alterations and BM fittings. I happily walked out of the store, dress in hand. \r I called the store a few days letter and scheduled my appointment for the following week, which was pretty impressive to this first time bride. The lady I spoke with seemed to hardly know any English, be regardless I was happy to be getting my dress altered so soon. \r The following week I called the day of my alteration appt to confirm my appt. The lady who answered was very puzzled and said my name was not on the books for that date. She flipped through this apparently disorganized schedule book and found my appt a MONTH and a HALF later! My BridesMaids were already at my house (whom traveled from afar) and we were all ready to go, only to find out it wasn't going to be for another month. I was very disgusted, even more so when the woman I was speaking with treated me like it was MY fault for misunderstanding, when I KNOW I wrote down the date this woman told me. She didn't even apologize! \r The day of my appt finally arrived, I got all fitted by the non -English speaking woman and when I went to try it on for the last time before the wedding it fit perfectly, however I did not CLOSELY inspect everything as, soon as I took the gown off, the lady quickly zipped it into the garment bag. The night before my wedding I opened the dress to make sure it was not wrinkled etc., to discover half of the dress was wrinkled as badly as a wadded up tissue because she failed to hang the dress incorrectly in the bag and the bottom half was COVERED in black animal hair!!! I ended up going out and buying an expensive steam cleaner to get the wrinkles out and to get it clean. How did it get covered in animal hair??????????? \r \r Anyway, I would definitely NOT advise any brides to go there. You are much better off going to the cities or elsewhere if you want to be treated like a real bride! Pros: Good dresses Cons: Horrible customer service, disorganized! more

DO NOT RECOMMEND OR USE!!!! 2/2/2010

No one can argue...DB has the BEST selection of wedding gowns north of the cities. BUT, the customer service there is terrible and they are completely unorganized and rude. I bought my gown there, and after they measured and fitted me, my dress was almost two sizes too big, and I was charged $300 for alterations. We picked out bridesmaids dresses and had the girls fitted the same day I went in for my alterations appointments, and they were told they had a few months before they absolutely had to order them so they would still be here in enough time for alterations. Two of my girls ordered, but my sister is stationed in California and was unable to get home and sized before Christmas. Three weeks before she came home, DB called me and said we had two days to order to be guaranteed the color and style because the dresses were going to be discontinued. After quite the inconvenience, we got her measurements and I called and ordered her dress. When she got home she tried on my other sisters' dress and we realized that they had also ordered her's two sizes too large. When I called and told them this, they said since it was already paid for and ordered it was too late. I ended up having to go into the store and tell them how disgusted I was with their service and informed them that I WOULD tell everyone to go to the cities instead of risk going there. They DID reorder my sister's dress, and considering this was about a month after their 'two-day notice"" I think it is safe to say I was scammed. I simply picked up the bridesmaid dresses and am taking them to a tailor, there is no way we are paying for alterations at DB-it is WAY to expensive. Also, we ordered three pairs of different sized shoes, and we got two in the same size. This is not the way to treat ladies coming in to spend as much money as we do on our wedding parties. I am disgusted, and would never go back again. Pros: Great selection of Wedding Dresses Cons: Customer service, alterations, everything else more

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! 10/18/2009

I bought my gown at DB and loved the girl who originally helped me out. She was about my age and seemed to care about what I wanted. She also was very patient with me. After I purchased the gown, I had the worst experience of my life. I am continually shocked by the lack of customer service, especially in the state that our economy is in, for a business to not appreciate you or the business that you are bringing them. They never called me to tell me that my dress was in, I had to go there and ask. Also, I set up an appointment to get the dress altered and the woman was a complete idiot. She had no idea what she was doing and I even had to help her figure out how to pin a part of it to make it fit me better. She interupted me and my friend's conversation constantly to tell us about how her first, second, and third weddings and marriages worked out (or didn't for that matter)- not something a bride wants to hear before her upcoming marriage. She also started my appointment late and went half an hour into her next appointment. And on top of that I had to go back later in the day to have her re-do the bustle because she didn't know how to do that either. When I got my dress back, I put it on- with the same shoes and undergarments as the first fitting and it was about 2-3 inches off of the floor. She said it was standard and said that it was because I was standing on a platform- the 'platform' was really just a raised part of the alterations area that was big enough to just be considered as a regular floor. She did not care that it was too short- and as we all know you can't easily add any length to a dress without it looking absurd. I ended up having to buy new shoes and it still is a little shorter then it should be. I also mentioned that it was kind of riding up when I walked- which it hadn't done before and she patted my hips- which aren't large- and said that that was the reason for it. I'm sorry but I am a size 2, I really don't have much for hips... Another thing too was that the bustle that was such a problem for her in the first place had been done wrong and I had to wait while she fixed it. After $250, my dress is still not fitting properly. Over all a very disappointing experience. Also, don't order anything from their website or try to talk to their head-quarters customer service reps. They are more disgusting then the people that work in the stores. Enough said- do not shop here, if you do, get your dress and run! Alterations are the worst I've ever seen and completely over priced! Pros: dress is pretty Cons: horrible customer service more

You are not the ONLY bride out there and they make you feel that way...... 5/26/2008

This is such an exciting time and you want to be sure to find that one special gown. I set up an appointment and after trying on only six dresses I found the right one. The sales girl was very helpful and polite. I was very happy with my decision and was told, since it fit me and we did not have to order it that I could put this dress on layaway. I then paid 25% down on my $387.00 dress and then was told I had 2 months to pay it off, and if need be, it could be stretched to three months. Well I ended up needing three months. So I went to the store to make a payment and to also extend my layaway. I was told by the manager that I should not have been told ""three months"" by this sales girl, and that it was something that had to be approved by a manager and this and that. So I was under the impression that I had three months if need be to pay off this dress, when it was really only two! My bridesmaids then needed to be measured, and this manager asked them what size they were. They did not have any measurements taken, but basically told this manager what size they ""thought"" they might be.They were also told to pay in full for their dresses right then or they might not get them on time, well they did not have the money to do that, we just came to look that day, so they were then treated differently also! I then asked her if I needed to have my dress altered before the wedding, what should I do? I was given a card of a person who did alterations, and that was it. She did not say when I should have adjustments made or how much it would cost, so I left very unhappy. I am happy with my dress, but very unhappy with how we were treated there. This ""Manager"" acted like I was just another bride, I felt belittled and looked down upon. How dare they make a bride to be feel that way! They need to realize that they are working for US and that this is Duluth MN and not Rodeo Drive. This manager was very stuck up and obviously PO'd because she is working here. Pros: I love my dress! Cons: Customer service is horrible!!! more

The Customer is Not Always Right 4/17/2008

I had a great experience with getting my wedding dress... Then I returned for bridesmaid dresses and invitations where nothing seemed to work out. I was told my girls had to order the dress right away because it was being discontinued, which I found out it was not. And apparently DB has no option for extra length on bridesmaid dresses so you better hope no one in your wedding party is taller than 5'8"". When the dresses came in a month earlier than expected, we were rudely told that they better get picked up within 2 weeks or they would be returned to the manufacturer. My out of town BM's had to rearrange their lives to make sure they were picked up and altered when DB demanded it be done. To top it off, alterations were at least double at DB than anywhere else I've been in the area. \r Then on to the invitations...This is more of a problem with DB in general, not necessarily this location. Be warned that if you want to order from them, you better order the $20 proof. If you don't and the invitations aren't right, whether its their mix-up or not, you are stuck with what you get.\r I had been warned by many people that David's Bridal was not a good place to go with, but I had such a good experience with my gown that I wanted to give them a chance. I should have listened... \r Seems like once they get your money, all customer service goes out the window. The workers care about your money more than you. The customer is not always right at David's Bridal. Pros: Large selection of gowns Cons: Horrible customer service, expensive alterations more
