This was my first experience with David's Bridal. As the mother of the groom I made an appt and the consultant pulled several dresses for me and then left. Didn't see her again until right at the end. Decided on a style that was very flattering but needed another color. The size I tried on fit perfectly. The dress arrived and I went for my fitting appt. As soon as I put it on, I could tell it was too short and one side was much shorter than the other...I measured and it was 1 1/2"" shorter on one side than the other. I am only 5' 5 1/2"". The alterations woman told me I could wear ""flipflops"" and then also told me I should have ordered a size larger...that's why it was too short. I couldn't believe she said that...flipflops are not exactly formal wedding attire! The bride and my daughter both said it fit perfectly. Feeling I was stuck with this dress, I spent a whole day looking for flat shoes to wear and then became frustrated and called the store. Kristin assured me that she would find a dress at another store and have it shipped, which she did. A few days later I went to try the new dress. It was also too short, but at least the hem was straight. I ended up with 1"" heels to make it look right. Do you know how hard it is to find dressy looking 1"" heels? The whole process was very disappointing. In the end the style looked great, but I should have been warned about the length if this dress runs so short. Would not take the chance on ordering from David's again.
