NOT 24/7 - ditched at 12:30 am on pre-paid reservation 5/8/2009

No driver for the pre-paid reservation for my 90 yr old mother-in-law who arrived exactly on time at 12:30 am in PHL. Dispatcher would not tell us anything except that he had no driver. Later, I spoke to the manager and confirmed that they have no drivers after 11 pm and should not have make the reservation at all. I had asked if Dave would pick up the tab for a taxi? NO. A hotel? NO. Tough cookie. Will give you your money back if you take a different shuttle. Rude dispatcher hung up on us as did the girl answering the phone the next day when I asked if we could get a time certain for my mother-in-law under the circumstances. NO. Could have as much as a 45 min wait. I am appalled to read of people being taken off the shuttle and made to wait for another one. Thank goodness that did not happen. No Good if you need carseats/booster seats 5/2/2009

I asked if they had booster seats because I have 2 kids that need to ride in them. The woman said I could bring my own and then they would hold them, until I got back from vacation, in their office in the NE. Upon returning to Philadelphia, however, I would have to get picked up by the service and go to their office in the NE to get my booster seats back. That means my kids would have to ride with no booster seat from Philly Intnat'l to the NE. It makes no sense. Pros: Good Price Cons: No carseat/booster seat availability more

DANGER! STAY AWAY! 4/16/2009

Flew into Philly and due to delay was picked up around 2:00 AM. The driver showed up on time, however it was rapidly clear that he was far too tired to be driving. It was raining and we used every lane but ours on I-95. The drive told me that ""he really shouldn't be driving"" because he was too tired. It took him quite a long time to figure out where we were and where Ferndale Road was and admitted that he wasn't too sure where he was. He was a danger to me (his only passenger) and to the other people on the road. At one point he turned on his emergency flashers and road in two lanes on 95 and then forgot to turn them off and drove surface streets with them going. I won't speak for other members of my family who used the service at different times during the week, but suffice to say, they had very similar experiences (including very poor customer service and credit/charge bookkeeping). Bottom line: AVOID Dave's Best (worst) Limousine Service at all costs. Pros: On time for pickup at airport Cons: Everything else more

Daves Best Limo 3/18/2009

I had to wait for one hour at the airport to be picked up. Then I had to sit in the van to wait for ten other passengers to be stuffed into the van with all the luggage.. That took at least a half an hour. Then I had to travel all over the northeast for the drop offs. It took a total of 2 hours and twenty minutes to arrive home, I had a medical condition that I needed to treat with a nebulizer and my request to be taken home sooner was denied. I called Manny, the owner the next day , and he refused to compensate me for the unreasonable delay in arriving home. I will not use this service again more

Unfortunately citysearch does not give any business a place to respond to claims or reviews by a customer. This review is in response to ""Terrible Fraud"" posted 11/28/08. The company that you describe is not Daves Limousine. We have shuttle vans that go to and come from Newark and JFK. When a passenger makes a reservation coming into the airport it is for the shuttle (we do not have a price of $70) unless you request private service. The only way a towncar would or could pick up a passenger is if they had previously booked and paid for private service through our office. Our drivers do not take credit cards in the van. All creditcard transactions must go through our office.\r It is not uncommon for an individual with an unregistered car to search out weary or new to the states travelers to try to make some money, regardless of the fact that this person already has a paid reservation with a company who has rights to provide service. They cruise through the terminals looking for people who need a ride. They put you in their vehicle and leave the airport, once you are out of the airport they then tell you the fee. This fee is usually quite high because they are bringing you back to Philadelphia. This sort of scenario happens to even the frequent traveler because when you ask the driver if they are from such and such a company they say yeah, yeah this way to the car. So when you're not fluent in English,not familiar with the airport and not sure where it is that you are going because you've never been there you are an easy mark for these unethical 'business' like people.\r We are sorry to hear that your passenger was taken advantage of in this manner on her first trip to the United States. The incident you describe is not the way Daves conducts business. I've lived in Philadelphia all my life and only ever used Dave's Limo for my traveling purposes. I think they are great. My first phone call was answered by a woman in the office by the name of Lisa, who usually works at night. I go out of my way to make my reservations at night and specifically ask for ""my friend Lisa"", as I dearly refer to her as, because making travel plans couldn't be easier. I understand that some of the other office staff may not be as polite because on occasion I've encountered them also but I don't think any of you who previously left negative reviews can generalize the entire office or set of drivers to be rude. My family uses Daves Limousine every year to go to the airport. They pick all 8 of us up, they're always on time to take us and we never have to wait long when we get back. The girls in the office have always been nice when answering questions or if you have to make changes to your reservation. We have traveled at different times of the day and have always found the drivers to be polite and they always help with the luggage. more

Shuttle service doesn't mean a stretch limousine 10/30/2008

I worked for Daves a few years ago then I moved and I now work for a competitor. I read the complaints people have about rude office staff and drivers.These are some experiences from both places. Let me tell you that trying to provide good customer service to customers who bark at you ,blame you for their lousy vacation,flight delays and bad weather or traffic are not a picnic. People call to make reservations,their flight info is somewhere else or they have no clue about times or dates and they want to haggle the price. But I will hold on while you get your stuff together,even though the phones are busy and you happen to be carrying a screaming kid through the house while you search or you tv is so loud the people in my office across the room from me know what you're watching. I have people ask me if their children count as people,I feel sorry for your kid. Drivers,have to listen to those same people I just mentioned,but now its the whole way home and everybody wants to be first. They drop off people in million dollar homes waaaayyyy out in the suburbs and get a dollar tip. My point is that although Daves may not be perfect they do their best to satisfy customers,the company I work for now plain doesn't give a hoo haa. They have your money and you no longer exist. Daves was a picnic compared to this place. Remember people to get good customer service it helps if you treat people the way you want to be treated. If you're a hothead who gets angry and irate because it doesn't meet your need,chances are you will be lucky enough to get that hothead that is on the other end of the phone. So in spite of reading the endless sea of terrible reviews on ""Dave's Best Limo Service"" (and if that's Dave's BEST, then damn... get another line of work, Dave!)... I decided to call for schedules from JFK to Philly. The women on the phone started by telling me I needed to prepay. I said I didn't care about whether or not I had to pre-pay, I was just trying to figure out what their schedule was. And she said to me... ""Well, THAT'S ignorant!... hold on"". I especially liked the ""hold on"" part... like I was going to hold on after that. Actually it was pretty funny... sort of beyond anything you could actually make up yourself. Worst EVER!!! 6/5/2008

When you need Dave's to pick you up at home they get it done fine, but if you need a ride from Phila. International I suggest you find other arrangements. It took me 4 hours to get to Willow Grove, PA from PHL thanks to Dave's lousy service. I landed at 3:00 got my bags and was on the phone to Dave's by 3:15 pm. I got on one van at 3:40 and was asked to get off and wait for another van. I waited an hour for the van that was supposed to be only minutes away. Dave's gets your money and then they could give 2 cents about the customer. God help you if you live outside the city, and have to wait for them to let off 10 other people. I would have been better served taking the train or a cab. I have tried to use Dave's many times and it is the same story; you get great service to the airport, but coming home you get treated like the stepson no one wants. Well the heck with Dave's I can get treated badly for free. I will never use them ever again and if you use them you deserve their more

LOUSY SERVICE from hateful company 6/5/2008

Dave's Limo is the only service provider I have ever known that hates to provide service. It took me nearly 4 hours to get home to Abington, PA from PHL. I was on one van with about 5 others and then I was asked to get off and wait for another van which was supposed to be a few minutes away; IT WAS NOT. I had to call Dave's again to remind then m that I was still at the airport waiting. Then when I get on the van they have the driver return to the airport to pick up 5 other people. Now instead of being the 1st drop off I got to be the last. I had already been waiting for my ride for 2 hours and was given no apologies other than from the driver. This is not the only bad experience I had from Dave's; but it is the last because I have other choices for my dollars. Dave's may think they are the only choice in Philadelphia, but they are not. Be smart learn from my mistakes never take Dave's Limo. Unless you like sloppy service; impolite customer phone reps; dirty vans; and taking 4 hours to get home from a ride that should take no more than 40 minutes. Dave's limo is expensive and not worth the money or the headache. They have no interest in giving any better service which should have been obvious to me from past experiences. WORST RIDE EVER 3/13/2008

I had the mis-fortune on booking a ride to the Airport with Dave's Limo, worst ride of my life, they picked us up at 3:15 AM, we had two other riders with us, they took us to Risque Video's , where they put us out on the corner, to wait for someone else to pick us up. When we returned home, we got our luggage, went to the taxi's station, called for Dav'e to pick us up, I called at 10:45 PM, the gentlemen told me it would be 30 mins to 45 mins, before we got pick up. I called again at 12:15 AM and spoke to the rudest women to work in customer service (I ask if her son owned the company or was she sleeping with the owner, that's the only way she could keep that job), she told me that Daves's don't work for me, someone would get me when they could (Real nice answer), I called again at 12:45 AM only to be told someone would be there shortly, they came at 1:25 AM, the last person who they were waiting for, her plane was late 1 !/2 gours, that why they didn't get me until 1:25 AM. Would I use Dave's again ""NO WAY"", I would walk to the airport before I dialed their number again. They don't belong to the ""Better Business Buearu"" so who came you complain to, not Dave's, they make you pay in advance. more

DO NOT USE! 11/22/2007

Dave's Best is clearly a misnomer. I prepaid to take the 3pm shuttle from JFK-NewYork to Philly. They said the driver was 'late' and were not able to get in touch with him b/c of traffic and the cellphone rule in NYC. The driver finally showed up at 4:30pm at which point I found out the 3pm shuttle had actually been cancelled. So I was sharing a van with 4 others - and I was told it would be 4.5 hrs to my destination after various dropoffs. They are clearly disingenuous. I'm sure there just weren't enough passengers leaving at 3pm for them to make a buck - so they spun me a yarn while I waited (I had just flown for 20 some hours from India) and I actually got on the next shuttle - at a time which was convenient for Dave's best. Dave's do what they say in that they get you where you're going but beyond that it's pure frustration. Beyond over-booked vans with stained and broken seats and dirty interiors the customer service from the intial call to make a reservation to the drive to the airport leaves one wondering how this company is still in business. I've used Dave's four times over the last year and a half hoping each time that my experience would improve but unfortunately it hasn't. I've been verbally abused by call takers in the office and drivers alike. Of course there has been an exception or two but my over-all opinion is that Dave doesn't have a grip on his employees. After all this I have to commend Kim (on the other end of the phone), superb job and John my driver on two of the four occassions... keep the wonderful attitude and sense of humor (name one of those pebbles for me). Over-all, I will not use Dave's again. There are other shuttle services in the area, just do your research. Trinity. Philly more
