lol! It seems like all of these negative comments on the pavillian here come from people who don't live here? Do you idiots not comprehend that it was probably built with the woodlands residents in mind? If they happen to profit off of others and end up doing better in the long run then so be it, right? Everybody here sounds like they come here ONLY for the music venue. Then, when it isn't up to their ""taste"" they complain about it and insult it as a suburban snob thing. Here is a perfect solution for that. Stay out and don't bother coming here if you don't like it. It's not as if your petty little band is important to you in the grand scheme of things, now is it? If so, you need variety. Again, it was built here for a reason. Families who live here. Pretty obvious. more

The Woodlands Pavilion- may never go again 9/26/2010

My friend and I see Rush everytime they come to Houston. They always play here and I am beginning to wonder why. I agree with all the negative reviews regarding the security here. She drove in from Austin for the show. We saw an opportunity to sneak down to the pit, so we acted on it. Another patron tattled on us to security. Security approached me and asked for my ticket, I didn't have a pit ticket so I left right away. He then went to my friend who was standing in front of me, and jerked her arm from the back (she was facing the stage). Her first reaction on was to pull away because she didn't know who was grabbing her. She pulled away and told him to stop touching her and this escalated so quickly, that he called security, had her escorted out of the pavilion, into a secure area where the cops proceeded to arrest her for disorderly conduct, and took her to the Montgomery County jail where she spent the night. They REFUSED to let her call me to or even text me to say what was happening but thank goodness I witnessed all this and was following them. She didn't know I was behind her and was begging them just to let her call me. When 2 women are traveling to a concert together from out of town, what is the purpose of them refusing to let the other know what is going on???? She refuses to ever attend another concert here again now, and I agree. I am so glad I don't live in the Woodlands or Conroe. The security are way too extreme at this venue. Just a word of warning, you better be on your best behaivor or you could get thrown out like she did. Maybe if the scalpers didn't get all the good tickets over and over, people wouldn't be so pissed about the crappy tickets they have to buy. Also, they need new caterers in the vip and hospitality suites. WHO else serves 9.00 nachos with ground beef and canned cheese sauce ONLY!!! No salsa, no nothing else. I asked for jalapenos and they said they just ran out 5 min. ago. (at 6 pm!) What a joke! I'm a caterer and if I treated my customers like that , I wouldn't last very long. Why can't Spectrum catering order enough lousy jalapenos that are canned anyway. Go to HEB and get more if you run out, or borrow some from the pavilion caterers. That is what I would have done. Even the nachos at the Circus were better, in fact they were really good. Also, if you want a decent parking spot its 15.00, and even that lot of nearly full by 6 pm. If they are so concerned about security they should focus more on checking peoples bags at the door. I could have snuck anything I wanted in there. From now on when Rush comes to TX we are going to San Antonio. more

Artists were great, venue was terrible 9/12/2010

Security was unorganized and unprofessional. My kids were very disappointed as they could not see the stage. This venue is probably ok for adult concerts, but terrible for a child/pre-teen concert. Big let down. I have brought my kids to other shows in other cities (we are new to Houston area) and I guess we just have very high expectations. Security did not inform us that certain items had to go through a special gate, so after waiting in line for over an hour, and finally reaching the gate, we were instructed that prescription drugs needed to go through another line? Really? This couldn't have been told to people before? The kids cried when they couldn't see the stage. And we ended up leaving early. Do yourself a favor and do NOT bring kids to this venue. It may be cheap, but wasn't even worth the small amount spent for the headache. more

Great place for a Concert if Weather is good. 11/6/2008

I love goinmg to concerts here. Fun, Fun, Fun Pros: You get wet if it rains and cold if it is cold!! Cons: Great Shows. more

Very rude security staff 8/18/2008

Can't even bring water into the concert--that makes a lot of sense. Cons: Security extremely rude and tyrannical more

Worst place to see a show 5/12/2008

This is the worst place I have ever seen a concert. In the city the size of Houston we should be able to do better...MUCH better. First, the location is so far out that it is a major inconvenience, parking is atrocious, but most of all the acoustics are horrible. So disappointing to be looking forward to seeing a band you really like and then having trouble making out any of the words. We need to get one of these other burbs...Katy, Sugar Land to build something decent. Pros: hmmmmmm none I can think of unless you like mosquito bites and sore back end Cons: parking, seating, location, accoustics more

save your money = don't go ! 8/6/2007

Over the years my friends and I have frequented 'the pavillion' for various rock concerts. And over the years 'the pavillion' has gone straight down hill. DO NOT get 'hill' seats for a rock concert! You will not be able to hear the show at all. At the Projekt Revolution tour here recently the only band that got turned up was Linkin Park. Save your money! This is not a ROCK friendly venue. You will be able to hear if you see a country group or oldies group. It is just wrong to pay good money for a ticket and not be able to hear the acts. Pros: Close to Conroe Cons: cannot hear the concerts more

I love the Place! 7/14/2007

I?ve seen at least 100 concerts at the Pavilion since it opened in the early 90?s, from the top of the hill to leaning on the stage. If the band did a good job and the sound equipment didn?t malfunction I?ve always had fun. The staff is always friendly. There are plenty of locations for beverages, food and restrooms. Pros: Easy access in and out. No problems with lines. Cons: Somethimes you will need to walk a ways to the gate on sold out shows. more

Avoid this place! 7/12/2007

Outdoor concerts just do not work in this part of the country. It's either too hot, to humid or both. If the heat and the humidity are not the problem then the rain or the mosquitos are. Cons: Outdoors, too far North of Houston, not a bargain more

Great Place to Have an Outdoor Concert 8/18/2006

Saw Dave Matthews and it was a great concert. We sat on the hill and really enjoyed it. Blankets were allowed however we chose to rent chairs. There was lots of room to move around even tho the concert was sold out. Line-ups to the washrooms were minimal (5 minute wait for girls room) and the food wasnt too bad (great french fries). People who worked the facility were very friendly and helpful. Sound was great and the big screens were a nice touch. This was our first experience and we will return. Pros: Great Outdoor Concert Venue Cons: Must remember where you sit on the hill as you could get lost (very very dark) more

Best and worst 7/22/2006

One of the worst concerts I have ever been too was Ozzfest 05. 114 degree temperatures, 15 minute lines at water fountains, and nasty, muggy atmosphere on the grass hill. However, the best concert I've been to is a Dave Matthews show. Awesome breeze on the hill and a nice, cool Fall temperature at night. As for the no anything rule, they only do that at rock shows. I've seen people in hills go crazy with moshing, rolling, and sliding down the hill. The last thing security wants is a lawn chair thrown in the middle of a mosh pit. At the DMB show, they allowed towels, blankets, and whatnot because people enjoyed the show with civility. The bathrooms can be a far walk sometimes, and the concessions are EXPENSIVE! The acoustics and the sightlines are not bad. I have gone to many, many concerts here and I would recommend this venue. Depending on the show, it can be a very nice experience. Pros: Comfortable atmosphere Cons: Parking more

Seating and parking 11/6/2005

The CMWP is expensive for any good seats below the grass hill. There are poles located between the hill audience and the stage. The color coded parking lots are located a good half mile from the Pavillion. The crowds seem to be subdued compared to other area arenas. I love concerts and go often but, I really don't like the situation at the CMWP. Pros: clean , safe, close to I45 Cons: parking, seating, acoustics more

Complete Nightmare 9/14/2005

The shows are usually good, but for example at Weezer/Foo Fighters 9/05, they wouldn't let people bring in a blanket or even a towel to sit on the lawn. It's just absurd...you have to sit in the grass and itch the whole time. And they don't tell you this ahead of time but tell you when you get to the gate that the band made the decision the day of the show. Pros: Bands Cons: No blankets, Parking more

This place SUCKS!! 6/27/2003

Who in their right mind wants to sit outside on a hot, muggy, mosquito infested Houston night to watch a concert. If you're on ""the hill"" you can't see or move. Parking sucks. I'm not surprised astist don't want to come back. Cons: Crowded, uncomfortable, parking sucks more

Can't see the stage 2/7/2003

This place is just too big. If you're on the hill you can't even see the stage. Unfortuantly many of the good successful bands only play here when they come forcing you to go to this overpriced oversold venue. Pros: Many bands play here Cons: Too Large, OverCrowded, Bad Accoustics more

Totally Disagree 1/16/2003

I have been to the Pavilion on a few occasions, thinking of course, that it'll get better. First time was on the lawn, no way I will ever do that again. Too much illegal activity going on out there. Next time I purchased uncovered reserved seats. The view and the sound was horrible! And no, I was not obstructed by a pole. Lastly I purchased covered reserved. That was the best time I had, but totally NOT worth the price! It was outrageous! to spend over 50.00 just to have a descent view, and to hear somewhat. I don't understand it. more

Splendor In The Grass! 1/9/2003

Worst place in the Houston area to see anything. Sitting on a hard, sun baked lawn without a chair is for people who really like to rough it. Being outdoors in July & August is like being in a sauna. Bathrooms are a long way from venue and insufficent & inadequate for the crowd. And, to top it off, you can't bring in a bottle of water. more

far out man 12/12/2002

The CWM Pavilion is great for concerts. I like sitting on the hill just like in the old days.Outside concerts are more fun, seems like everybody partys together more. The parking is'nt too bad and it's the closest venue to my house. Also I helped build it! Pros: THE HILL Cons: ticket prices more

Pretty bad. 12/2/2002

The Nazi Pavilion is no good. It's far, it's too big, they water the freakin' grass for god's sake. You cant stand on the concrete. You cant do this cant do that. The only pos. experience ive had with this venue is radiohead. I mean, they ruined Weezer for me! Pros: Unique Cons: staff, seating, parking more

Pro-Concert Goer Rates 11/12/2002

I've been to too many concerts to list at this venue. They have been enjoyable not only because of the artist, but also the venue. Everything about this place is great. The seats are all wonderful. They have great food. The pit is roomy without allowing too many people in it (short girls like me can still see!!!) Don't hesitate to go if it's at this venue!!!! Pros: clean bathrooms, good food, good drinks Cons: none, none, none more
