One of the friendliest service in town. I have been to many bars and restaurants and I thought I already tasted the best calamari until The Courtyard. Haven't tried the tapas and that's my next agenda. Cobras and Matadors' tapas is the best for me so far. That could change on my next Courtyard visit. Paella, Gambas, the best. One small thing, since nights are becoming warmer, please keep Stellas a little colder. Lager tastes better ice cold. Thanks. p.s. please serve Spanish beers. San Miguel beer not from Spain but from Philippines. Taste good though. more

There were a number a amazingly well prepared food. They have small plates of food that allows for more a sampling of different dishes but also requires you to purchase more. The mango sherbert in watermelon soup was superb (especially the sherbert). My fiance still raves about it. You can park in the lot right next to the restaurant even though there doesn't appear to be clear indications of that. Last time i had dinner at the courtyard with my girlfriend and i have to tell you, there's no better place to have a romantic dinner than the courtyard. The ambience is perfect, they have great perfect, it's very clean, and the staff was just great. I have to say the courtyard is the best restaurant in west hollywood. If you have a big party coming call the courtyard and make your reservation NOW! they'll know how to take care of you. more

i read about The Courtyard from various sources on the internet and print media, i was intrigued from the get go. i live in Orange County and decided to take two friends with me...made reservations for an evening dinner for 3. i must say, the ambience was wonderful...relaxed, warm and inviting. our waiter Niko was genuine, friendly and very accomdating. the food was fabulous... the steak pobre' was delicious!! the sangria we order (Royal) was so yummy. the three of us agree, The Courtyard was well worth the journey up from OC. more

The Sangria, I had the red and the white, was terrible. The mushroom for starters was horrible, I ended up cancelling my dishes to follow because the drink and the first tapa was terrible. I read all the good reviews and thought I couldn't go wrong. boy was I wrong. bad service. they 'lost' my reservation. the tapas were far from authentic. the sangria was horrible. complete waste of time and money. they MUST have friends writing the reviews. I would NOT recommend this place for anybody looking for authentic food or drink. Pros: hot waiter Cons: sangria, horrible service, not authentic more

I had a graduation party here a week ago with about 20+ guests and had a fabulous time. Everything served that I pre-ordered with the help of the owner were excellent. All my guests (kids and adults) were very pleased. The sangria was good too. I would definitely come back! Pros: food, service, price Cons: parking, can be crowde more

Went there this past weeked with my dear husband for our fifth year anniversary. We didn't want to go to a pretentious LA restaurant so I researched some places online via CitySearch. The Courtyard is quite the find. The service staff was exceptional (our server was a complete Spanish hottie) and the food was excellent! I suggest the 'Steak a lo pobre'. Between the two of us, we ordered five tapas. I'm looking forward to my next Courtyard experience. Great restaurant!! more

from being greeted at the door by the nicest host to getting the best service from the nicest waitress i had a perfect first date. both of us were new to tapas and we were guided to the perfect meal. from scallops on a shell to this amazing steak on potatoes everything was perfect. i even have a new favorite wine. i think it's muga. the owner even came and asked us how everything was. it was perfect. i can't wait to tell all my friends. Our supper club met here last night, and we had a great experience. The service was great, the food excellant, (the piquillo peppers, and bacon wrapped dates are to die for!) Our server made recommendations that proved to be wonderful. The only dish we were not crazy about was the short ribs (tough). The atmosphere is very romantic. Great place for a date. I have a been a frequent patron at "another tapas" place in LA but I now have a "new tapas place" which I am telling everyone to go visit and experience the truly authenic Spanish tapas they offer(we had the chcicken paella, asparagas a lo plancha, croquetas, steak la pobre, a cheese plate,and Sangria Royale) along with the great service we received the whole time we were there. It was a great time, great food, and truly awesome service. The only thing, I would recommend a reservation as we had to wait on a Thursday night about 20 minutes to be seated. On a bad night, they'll run out of champagne for the Sangria and the manager runs scared from you. On a good night, you'll get great food at a fantastic value. Atmosphere is awesome and service is good. Just beware that they have trouble keeping their wines & champagnes in stock - and if you ask to speak to the manager, he will never appear at your table to confront the issue (but we did find him busy smoking cigarettes out front!!!) Had a fnatastic experience here on a number of occations. The other raves that members have posted go the some for my but I would like to add that it's consistancy that wins the day here. I have been several times and every time it's excellent all the way around. One last thing that this place has that's an intanigble is "soul". I am not one to write reviews however I just ate at this place tonight with a friend and everything was perfect about this place! We were seated promtly by a very nice, smiling, handsome, welcoming host- waited on by a nice guy- he knew the menu very well and made some good suggestions. The peach sangrias were soooo good (and I don't even like wine!). For food we shared stuffed mushrooms that were out of control, steak ala something that was served on a bed of au gratin potatoes (w/blue cheese), pupusas, and calamari..all of it was amazing! I highly suggest this place for a date or group dining w/friends. Food for the senses! Pros: Parking available, good prices, atmosphere Cons: no full bar more

My friends and family threw a surprise party for me here - the place was in a word, perfect! The staff was just amazing - so friendly, helpful and fun (to the point where both the owners came over personally to say hello and wish me a happy birthday). I also loved the feeling of the place - it felt as if we were in a cafe in Europe! The food was out of this world and the sangria was outstanding! Just this past Saturday 20 of our closest friends came out to The Courtyard to celebrate our engagement. Let me just say I couldnt have dreamt of a better place. With such a huge party The Courtyard staff really really made our evening special. From the service to the amazing tapas and to the romantic ambiance. My fiance and I will forever have a great memory of our engagement party. Our waitress was so attentive, with 20 people she was on top of things, making sure everyone's yummy sangria glasses were never empty and kept the food flowing. i went last night after reading all the reviews here, and let me tell you they were right on! the food was amazing (bacon wrapped figs, steak over blue cheese and potatoes, garlicky shrimp, everything was mouthwatering), the service impeccable (no "i'm really an actor/actress not a waitress so don't expect good serivce" types here), atmosphere so inviting. my girlfriends and i had such a wonderful experience. we will be back often. A friend and I went to the Courtyard because of the great Citysearch reviews and after not being able to secure a Monday night table at a popular LA tapas place. We couldn't have been more thrilled. The food was outstanding, and the service was impeccable - friendly and always there when we needed something but not on top of us in an annoyingly obsequious way. One of the owners stopped by to chat after our meal, and was exceedingly pleasant. The Courtyard is now on my short list of favorite spots. TIP: parking can be a hassle, but apparently is available in the Pet & Leash to the west, and valet service was expected soon. Pros: Great Food, Wonderful Service more

I had a group of friends meet me on a week-night - the place was busy (as good restaurants should be) but we still got great attention to detail. The table we were seated at felt like a Kings' table and we laughed about how small we all felt. The food was delicious although not a lot of options for the veggitarean's because the vegetable tapas still had meat involved. Pros: Atmosphere, service, tapas Cons: not veggie friendly more
