Thorough, professional inspection by Kenny Martin. 1/23/2014

We are seasoned homeowners and DIY'ers who have owned and renovated at least 4 homes. Yet, at a recent inspection of a house on which we have a contract, Kenny Martin pointed out many defects that we would not have noticed. We have worked with other inspectors who were much less thorough and seemingly less knowledgeable. One of the best things about the inspection by Kenny is the detailed report which he provided. If we close on this house, we will use the report as a working document and check off the items one by one as they are corrected - either by ourselves or by professionals. Kenny is knowledgeable, professional, and a good communicator. We will definitely recommend Kenny Martin to anyone who needs a home inspection. more

We have used Commonwealth for a few inspections over the years. Kenny does a great job, is very thorough, easy to talk with about what he is seeing and is very timely in getting the results back to you. The results are easy to follow, photos are included, and overall just great. We have referred many people to use Commonwealth and will continue to do so. more

Kenny helped me finally find my first home. 9/11/2013

I have been searching for a home since 2009. I had researched home inspections online and found Kenny from Commonwealth Home Inspections that way. I explained exactly what my situation was and what I had been searching for in my first home. He helped me along the way and helped me find one that I wanted. He gave me advice on what to look for. He taught me how to see certain things: the kind of stuff I'd want to steer clear of because certain things are more costly in the long run. I've had him inspect three homes total. On my third home he actually congratulated me on having worked through him and on having remembering what he had taught me, which enabled me to find that home. That last home I ended up purchasing was one of the better home inspections he had been on. Even with the issues that one had, it wasn't like the other ones where the repairs would end up costing me a lot more money. No home is perfect. Pay attention to what he tells you. If you tell him straight and upfront exactly what you want, he will definitely let you know whether or not what you're looking at seems on track with what you want. more

I think that Kenny at Commonwealth Home Inspections is really thorough at what he does. I haven't bought houses very often. When I've messed up with the paperwork Kenny was more than willing to resend things and had no attitude at all. He was very helpful and kind. more

We were looking to purchase a home for my son to live in while he is in college instead of having to give him rent money. Commonwealth home inspections I feel went above and beyond what would be expected of a home inspection service. Prior to showing the house to us, the previous owners had an inspection done and Commonwealth were able to show us some thing that inspector missed. more

Thorough, great inspection helped us avoid a money-pit house 1/30/2013

We just did a regular home inspection for a house we were going to be purchasing. Kenny was very thorough and noticed things we hadn't. He recommended us to get further information on certain details and he had great insight on minor and major things-both that were good to be aware of before purchasing. He helped us not purchase a house that would have been a money pit. more

I learned of Commonwealth Home Inspections when they were inspecting a home we were selling, and I just used them myself. Kenny Martin was very thorough in his inspection and found some issues with the real estate we were looking at. He helped further the work to repair the problem by giving me some names and numbers of foundation experts. I would recommend him to anybody. more

Home Inspection done by Kenny Martin 1/23/2013

Kenny was recommended to me by my brother. I was very pleased I chose Kenny to do my home inspection. He came out and inspected a home I was considering buying and told me it probably wasn't the best idea. Although I did not see many visible problems with the house, Kenny was able to explain them to me. I was glad that he was honest with me and informed me of the long list of problems there actually were with the home. I was so pleased with the job he had done, I called him again to do another inspection after I had found another house I was serious about purchasing. Kenny really took his time with me and explained everything to me as we were going through. He is very thorough. I would definitely recommend him to anyone buying a home. more

Don't buy a home without it. 1/22/2013

A home buyer looks and asks it appears OK, but is it? Commonwealth Home Inspections provides a confidence inspiring, thoroughly presented, sometimes eye opening evaluation of past, present and future outcomes. This comes from the contractor, subcontractor and DIY'ers result. The home buyer's dream is prevented from becoming a home owners nightmare. This service is a necessity for any home buyer. I highly recommend it. more

very, very thorough. 1/18/2013

Kenny with commonwealth was recommend to me by my parents who had him inspect 2 homes for them. I have to say this is one of those rare times when I feel like I received more than I paid for! The report was 54 pages long with 100 pictures. I was with him when he did the inspection and there was not one part of that house that he did not look at. He explained everything that was wrong and pointed out alot of small things that I would've never seen. He even gave me tips about how to fix the small stuff myself. Kenny has inspected two houses for me now and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. You will not be disappointed. more

Best Home Inspector You'll Find! 9/26/2012

Our neighbor referred us to Kenny, insisting that he was the ONLY home inspector we should ever use. They explained that he was just like "Holmes on Homes" ;). We couldn't agree more! Kenny was extremely thorough and helpful throughout his inspection. He didn't miss a thing. He took pictures of absolutely every concern he had and included the pictures and explanation in his report along with his thorough suggestions for how the issues should be properly addressed. Being first time home buyers, we felt extremely well-informed and safe in Kenny's hands. He had us follow him throughout the entire inspection so he could point out anything he found and explain in detail. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone purchasing a property or in need of his professional services. more

Outstanding Service! 9/24/2012

Kenny Martin has saved me thousands! He steered me clear of a home that had a crawlspace infested with mold and several structural problems that would have been cost prohibitive to repair. After running away from that property, I used Kenny again when I found another home that I liked. Kennys report was 48 pages long and included a 14-page photo summary with 76 photos! As if that werent enough, all issues of concern listed on the report were highlighted in red, making them very easy to find. I used his report on the second home to negotiate approximately $5K in repairs and a price reduction of $3K. He even called me several times to follow up as I negotiated the repairs. I close on the home in about 6 weeks and will use his report as a punch list for all of the remaining small items that he identified. Kenny Martin is the only home inspector Ill ever recommend. more

I appreciate Kenny's service 9/21/2012

Commonwealth Home Inspections did two inspections for me. The first was for a home that I was getting ready to buy. Kenny's inspection was thorough and revealed the number of things that needed to be fixed. That house was a money pit and he pretty much kept me from pouring my money into it. The second home he inspected was done within the time I asked, and I ended up buying that home. Kenny is great at what he does. He is knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. more

Honest and thorough inspections. 8/22/2012

Commonwealth Home Inspections are very thorough, very honest, and they just did a really good job. The were detailed, and I didn't feel like they tried to hide anything from us. We were buying a home, and they inspected two houses for us. They printed out really nice forms with pictures and captions, so it was easy to read. more

Kenny from Commonwealth Home Inspections did a home inspection for me. He did a very thorough analysis of the home. He found a few things wrong with the house and he explained the problems in detail. He told us what it would take to resolve the problems and even included dollar amounts. His concern seemed genuine. I would recommend him to others. more
