Had chemdry of wake county come clean a sofa and love seat. Love seat required special chemicals/dry solvent due to nature of fabric and was told would cost double what I was quoted over the phone. After the ""cleaning"" the spots on the love seat remained. I called chemdry to tell them I was unhappy with the service especially since I had paid double the price. I was told by Jeremy (the manager) I could either have them try an alternate method to clean the love seat or be given gift cards in exchange. The alternate method of cleaning, I was warned could damage the upholstery. Jeremy again stated we could have $60 in gift cards, however when I spoke with him about what exactly they could ""clean"" given that they weren't successful in the first place he hung up on me. I called again where I was told the gift cards were no longer an option for me and he hung up on me again. Every call I have made to them since then has gone unanswered. The staff comes across as professional at first but if you arent satisfied they abruptly become rude and uncompromising. Jeremy stated that they typically do not recommend this dry solvent cleaning as it does not actually clean the upholstery rather sanitize it. This was not made clear to me when I was told by the technician the loveseat required the dry solvent method. I think it is very unprofessional that he is not standing by his promise as well as being treated so rudely.\r Very poor business practices. I feel their approach to cleaning is quite shady and dishonest. \r Have filed a complaint with better business bureau as well and complaint has gone unanswered. Another example of their poor business practices. more

My review does not have to do with the quality of their work. Mine is about their business practices. Received a call from one of their customers inquiring about may services. (I'm an electrical contractor.) Their customer explained to me her problem and asked me to call Jeremy at Chem-Dry of Wake County as he would be responsible for the repair. I called Mr. Dillon and discussed the matter with him. He said he did not think his company caused the problem (a loss of power in the office, hall bath and hall) but the customer said power was working before Chem-Dry plugged their equipment into the circuit and was not working when they left. Mr. dillon said he did not know how his equipment had caused the problem and the customer called 2 days after Chem-Dry had completed the job. I explained to Mr. Dillon that I would be looking at him for payment since he was the one authorizing me to make the repair. The bill turned out to be $120.00, much less than my over the phone estimate. Long story cut short, I told Mr. Dillon that unless there was something definite like a blown breaker I probably would not be able to tell if his machine caused the problem or not. Mr. Dillon said to go ahead and take care of the problem and treat him the best I could because he thought it would be the only way to satisfy the customer. Took him at his word and once I fixed the problem I called him and told him I could not tell whether his machine caused to problem or not. Mr. Dillon then told me to collect the money from his customer because it was not his problem and he was not going to pay the bill. Well as I explained to Mr. Dillon, he was my customer not the homeowner. \r \r This company does not keep their word and from reading reviews across the web, it seems this is the rule and not the exception. Before calling this company I highly recommend one Googles Chem-Dry of Wake County and read the reviews. I found more negative than positive. more

Chem-Dry came to our house and did a terrible job cleaning our carpets. We had 3 showings and all 3 of them complained about how bad the carpets looked. We called to have them come back out and they did not show up on time. Then two weeks went back without a call to come back out to redo them. We had to hire someone else to come out and the carpets look great!! Now they will not give me a refund for their terrible work. I strongly advise against using this company. more

Would not use again. 4/16/2012

I wanted a carpet cleaner that was safe for my baby, so based on the website's information, I chose chemdry of wake county. The technician was great, very friendly and professional and did a great job. No complaints on that front. That evening while playing on the floor with y daughter, I developed an allergic reaction to the chemicals they used for cleaning - a red rash that burned on my forearms (the only skin exposed to the carpet). My daughter developed a cough which may or may not have been a reaction to the chemicals. I called to ask if they could come steam the carpet -with just water- to get rid of the chemicals and they said they would charge me the full price. Now, I expected to pay something for the cleaning, but I think full price for just water is unreasonable. So, I have had to hire another carpet cleaning company to come and remove the chemicals deposited by chemdry of wake county. more

Best Carpet Cleaning Service Ever!!! 3/18/2012

We have had several carpet cleaners over the years and wanted to try something new. So, when we received the coupon in the mail we gave them a call. Amy was exceptional in explaining the process, as well as the serviceman. We thought the price was a bit high, but gave them a shot anyhow. The best part is that the carpets have stayed cleaner for longer. I am starting to believe their is something to this extra soap idea that other cleaners use as Jeremy (the serviceman) was explaining. The furniture was on its last leg and he was able to revive it saving us thousands. Thanks to Chem-Dry and we will be calling them again. The price was well worth it!!! more

Awful Customer Service! 8/29/2011

After our new puppy jumped up on our sectional and peed, I was thrilled to be able to reach this company on a Sunday and get an appointment for the following morning! Even more thrilling was the phone call from Amy in the office to let me know their technician was running 5 minutes late - never had anyone do that before. Unfortunately, that's where the good service ended. When the tech arrived, he started off by complaining that it had taken an hour to get to our home. Then, he informed me that the price of cleaning our sectional (just cleaning, not even the pet odor service!) would be double what I was quoted by phone. Apparently, Amy at the office had recorded that we have a chaise, not a sectional, even though I had described in detail what we have - a love seat attached to a chaise - she had relayed the wrong info. Amy informed me they would price it as a sofa, since it is approximately the size of a large sofa, and the price was reflecting the use of one of the coupons on their website. He haughtily informed me, ""I wouldn't even clean a sofa for that much money, so why would I charge that little or this?"". As if it's my job to have known that! This rude young man was subsequently thrown out, and a c all to Amy produced no sympathy nor offer of compromise. I don't give my money to rude, unprofessional businesses. more
