I first visited Calvin's with my cousin who was in town from Atlanta. She had previously purchased her engagement ring and wedding band there and stopped in to have it cleaned and to have the stones checked. Being fairly new to the Austin area, I did not have a jeweler of my own. When I asked where to take my diamond jewelry to be checked and cleaned, they graciously offered to do it for me at my convenience! They were very friendly and professional, and most of all warm. They always have the same security guard welcoming people into the store, as well as their family standard poodle who anxiously awaits new customers to greet. Their jewelry is quality, classic and beautiful. I am thankful to have found Calvin's and plan to do any fine jewelry business there in the future. more

Calvin's is a great place to go when you really want the best for your money. The sales staff there will spend as much time as you need to show you as much as you want and try to help you find the perfect piece. The prices are great--they charge a flat 8% above cost for loose diamonds. I couldn't find a better deal in Austin, and they are actually competitive with prices for online diamonds. Calvin's won't nickel-and-dime you to death--they set the diamond and size the ring for free. They do charge a $50 fee for providing an insurance appraisal, though. The sales staff has been incredibly accommodating. I bought an engagement ring and wedding band at Calvin's, and my saleswoman, Jacqueline, allowed me a lot of time to look at everything and get comfortable with a decision. Once I made a decision, she did everything she could to speed along the delivery of my ring so that I could ask my girlfriend to marry me on a special date I had planned. She's been extremely helpful even after my purchase, and this is perhaps the most impressive aspect of the customer care at Calvin's. I will gladly return to the store, and to Jacqueline, for any of my future jewelry purchases. more

We went to Calvin's to get our wedding bands. They were friendly, professional and overall excellent to work with. The saleswoman we worked with was extremely patient and really seemed to care that we found exactly what we were looking for. Great place to buy jewelry! more

I bought my fiance's engagement ring last fall from Calvin's. I was so impressed by the store and by the help I received that I returned to Calvin's to purchase her wedding band. My husband and I just got back from a 10 day European vacation where I had purchased a watch. When I got home, I realized that the watch needed to have some of the links taken out...I was a little discouraged because I didn't want to pay MORE money just to wear my new watch. So, I decided to stop by Calvin's and see how much they would charge me....It was 0 dollars and 0 cents...Sandy removed the links in my watch in less than 5 minutes and I walked away a very happy and impressed customer. Calvin's amazing staff and gorgeous jewelry exceeds all others. I have shopped locally at other well known jewelers for years and have always been happy. However, there's just nothing that compares to the service and family-like atmosphere at Calvin's. It's a perfect mix of today's styles with traditional values. more

What wonderful people and beautiful jewelry! I brought in some watches that needed new batteries, and I was out in less than 10 minutes. Why drive to a crowded mall, park and walk a half mile to shop for jewelry when you drive right up to an Austin ""neighborhood favorite"" and be treated like a king or queen? The next time I have any jewelry needs, I'm headed to Calvin's! more

I designed my fiance's engagement/wedding ring with the help of Shelby at Calvin's. She was wonderful to work with. I had a visual in my head, and Shelby worked with me to translate that to paper and ultimately to the ring. My fianc? and I had an amazingly stress-free time looking for engagement jewelry. It was his idea to go there, and was he ever right. The staff was sooooooo warm and friendly, and most importantly they knew how to make it an exciting time for us both. Just picked up my rings and I was blown away. My fiance had my engagement ring made by Katherine James at Calvin's, and not only is it the most beautiful ring (and often complimented), but Calvin's has been extraordinary on follow up service. Calvin's is a first class place and we've been very impressed with them from our first visit to the store. Calvin himself took time away from his bench to introduce himself and thank us for shopping with him. Over time, we have purchased a diamond ring, a ruby ring, a sapphire ring, and a platinum band. We have been very pleased with all the pieces from Calvin's. We appreciate the complimentary refreshments and gift wrapping. But, our favorite thing about Calvin's is the line of creative pieces by a talented young jewelry designer named Kristina Watkins who is also an employee of the store. We have several pieces from her line from a beautiful pink opal ring to earrings to necklaces. Most are made from an attractive tarnish resistant silver and my wife wears something from the line just about every day. Ask Kristina to show you her collection when you visit the store. I'll begin by saying this was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had in a long while. My husband and I were greeted immediately (even though we were in workout wear, fresh from the gym:-) and offered a drink. The atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful (adorable large poodle for ambiance). We went in to see a specific designer I had seen on the web and were escorted to the appropriate showcase. What I didn't expect was that they carried a designer I had not discovered in my hours of web surfing. Katherine James was EXACTLY what I was seeking. I learned that Calvin's is one of only twelve retailers in the United States to carry her line. My husband and I purchased a piece several weeks later and were given a three week lead time. It came in one day early and was more beautiful than I imagined. Unfortunately, there was a fit issue (my fault). Calvin promptly added a bar to the inside in less than 24 hours and didn't charge us.
