Excuses in Place of Service 6/28/2011

Lack of knowledge, poor response to our requests for information, endless excuses (generally in the "beyond anyone's control" category) and indifference to inconvenience to the customer characterize our experience at Bronstein's. Our furniture order from Henredon (2 pieces) had to be redone after ordering because nobody knew what fabrics were currently available. Promised in six to eight weeks, no one called us as that date was passed. At ten weeks when we called no one had any idea of the status of our order -- in fact our salesperson seemed to have dissociated herself from the whole affair and passed us off to a admin, explaining that she didn't track these things. We got an update a few days later. Then silence as weeks passed. Another query from us; eply: they were en route. Then a Bronstein's initiated call -- not delivery but notice that one item was damaged and had been sent back. We asked that everything (there was furniture ordered from other mfg that had come in) be held for more

Indifference and Inefficiency 6/27/2011

When my wife and I left Bronstein's today we concluded that Richard the manager had good intentions but really did little to ensure that the whole buying experience was pleasant and professional with respect to serving their customers. Every problem we had with our furniture order was explained as just one of those things that happens or the result of events beyond their control or ability to anticipate. The place does well in the selection and ordering process but then goes adrift until delivery time. We were promised 6-8 weeks delivery on a love seat and sofa from Henredon. Hearing nothing we called at 10 weeks -- sales person and back office folks had no information but did check and called back with the status of production a few day later. No word for a month, but another call elicited the information that they had been shipped. We got a call that on arrival the love seat was damaged and was shipped back. We requested that both items be delivered together and asked that they give us a two week notice of delivery so we could have the current pieces removed from our home. Never got a call but after almost four months, we did get notified that the love seat was in and delivery would be in a week. But the day before delivery we received notice that everything was going to be delivered (we had three other items from a different mfg awaiting concurrent delivery) EXCEPT FOR THE SOFA (which had been sitting in their warehouse for weeks). They just unwrapped it and discovered either damage or a manufacturing defect (different sources offered differing descriptions) and they would let us know as soon as possible when the sofa would be available. Irate, we drove over to the store and listened to Richard's explanations and excuses all of which pointed to an operation with such inept processes and lack of attention to detail that post-sale customer service is a totally random event hardly impacted on by Bronstein's staff. We by chance had varied and sequential problems, you might have none at all. Who can tell and more important does anybody care about doing better? more

Best Furniture Store in Mobile! 3/18/2011

I have been shopping at Bronstein's for as long as I can remember, and have had nothing but the best experiences there. They seem to carry a larger selection than any other furniture store on the Gulf Coast, and the customer service is unparalleled. The folks at Bronstein's are so helpful in assisting you with finding exactly what you want. Our home has been a work in progress, and at every new stage of renovation and redecoration we have enjoyed working with the staff at Bronstein's to pick out the perfect furniture for our needs. Sure, they have the best brands at competitive prices, but even more than that, the customer service and the warmth of a family-run business keeps us coming back year after year! more

Fabulous customer service 3/17/2011

I have been a long time customer of Bronstein's. I have NEVER had a bad experience there. Very rarely have I encountered a problem, but when I did they were extremely helpful. Richard is the manager (not the owner) and he is very knowledgeable. He was patient with us as we made our selections, and even let us get our furniture delivered on an day they don't normally provide delivery to help accommodate our busy work schedules. The delivery guys were very professional and courteous. They were on time, and even called to tell us they were on the way. We did have one issue with a pillow on our sofa (apparently the manufacturer made a mistake), but they got it resolved quickly and at no additional cost to us. more

When I purchased a sofa, end tables and lamps from Bronstiens there were a series of mistakes on the part of the designer and the store, none of which they were willing to admit or apologize for. The sofa I picked out was priced and I put down a deposit on was discontinued when I ordered it, so they had not checked with the manufacturer. When the replacement was delivered it had an obvious flaw, and it took six weeks for correction, and when it was delivered, it was incomplete. It took a third party contractor to fix the problem. The lamps were ordered incorrectly, and was not checked when delivered. I took two trips to a third party to correct that problem. Throughout the process the company was less than agreeable. The designer had a series of excuses to offer, but no remedy. I would not recommend Bronstiens for any purchase more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED! 9/29/2008

My husband and I visited Bronsteins to purchase a piece of furniture and were told the piece would be in during the week. We had to call them, they never called, and when we picked up our furniture piece, it was incomplete. I called the manager/owner, Richard, and he was very rude. They do not have a return policy: EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE WRONG! I met with him in person and I've never been talked to in a way that he did with me. He was very disrespectful. He was confrontational and had no idea how to just apologize for suppling his customer with the wrong piece of furniture. I WILL NEVER SHOP IN THIS STORE AGAIN AND PLAN ON CONTACTING ANYONE I CAN TO LET THEM KNOW. It is disgraceful that customer's get treated in this manner. DO NOT SHOP AT BRONSTEINS.
