Joe was one of the realtors with whom we worked in renting the top floor of our 3 story brick walkup house in Park $@!#%. He brought us two potential rentors, worked very efficiently, professionally with them. Was very patience (One came four times to the apartment). He was on top of numerous details, did excellent background work, worked through some particular challenges, was cordial and helpful. The tenants who finally signed with us were from the midwest, and said they were extrememly pleased with how he worked with them too. Apparently they had had less than stellar experiences with another one(s). Anyway, we highly recommend Joe and Betancourt. more

We dreaded the process of selling the house in which we lived for 25 years. Tim Betancourt and his staff treated us with respect and professionalism, and got us the best possible sale price. Immediately after we retained the firm, Tim and Isabel rushed over to assess our property and take fantastic photos for the internet listing. They generated multiple seller visits, and we received an offer very close to the full asking price only days after the property was first listed. As issues arose during the contract and financing phases, Tim jumped in to help solve a problem or allay a concern to keep the deal moving. We closed two days ago. Now that the sale has been concluded and the dust has settled, I can unconditionally recommend Tim Betancourt and his staff to any seller or buyer. Having Betancourt and Associates as our realtor proved something of a windfall. They assessed our property at $100K over other brokers. While other agents kept pointing out the weaknesses of the property, they emphasized its strengths. John OReilly was our agent, and he understood and was able to explain to us in a nuanced way the fluctuations and timing of the market, and was able to determine a rise in the value of properties in our neighborhood as the rise was occurring (and not after). He had the time and patience to set up numerous appointments for viewers who could not attend the open houses. He is savvy about financing and talked to prospective buyers about their various financial options. He was able to recommend a mortgage broker who had better rates than the buyer's broker. During an unnerving fallow waiting period, John was supportive and encouraging,and we had several long conversations with him that helped convince us we were making the right decisions. He even talked us out of dropping the price beyond a certain point, though it would have been in his interest to do so. In the end, though the property was not in great condition, the sale was close to a record for our neighborhood. My boyfriend contacted Lizie about a listing he found online. My landlord sold my building through Betancourt. I was to be evicted. Myrta and Lizi made that unfortunate situation bearable. Myrta understood that people traipsing through my apt was upsetting and worked with me to limit intrusions. I was kept informed at all stages of the process. She then handed me off to Lizi who found me a great apartment in the area. Lizi dealt with what I thought were some unreasonable demands of my new landlord, and the situation was resolved to my satisfaction. This could have been a harrowing situation, but their professionalism and kindness kept it from being so. more

Betancourt & Associates Realty is a great real estate office with terrific staff! My experience working with agent, Kristin T. was truly a positive one all the way through. Kristin went above and beyond and succeeded in finding us a great place that we're so excited to be moving into within the next month. Not to mention, she was a pleasure to work with. She made the process very easy, as she was in contact often with updates and accommodated us with a few reassuring meetings. Kristin was kind, organized and prepared. She was eager to answer any questions we had and would frequently reach out to the landlord for more detailed information. She kept in mind what our priorities were in an ideal space and as a result, we couldn't be happier with our choice.
