LIARS, CROOKS AND THIEVES!! Dealing with the people at Autorama has been a nightmare!! Our car was hit by a taxi and the police called Autorama to have our car towed. We are from out of town and they totally took advantage of us. The insurance did not want the car to be fixed there. First they gave me a tow charge of $4000 to bring it to Ohio when all the tow companies in Ohio quoted me between $1100-$1500. Then they wouldnt accept my credit card over the phone to pay the bill and release the car to the transport company. When I told them I was from out of town and couldnt get there I was told ""Well, that's your problem"". SERIOUSLY??? Then they wouldnt accept a check from the insurance and said they only took cash or money orders. That is crazy!! They were rude, overpriced and totally terrible! Dont go here!! more

my car's alternator blew out while i was on cross bronx inching towards the gw through heavy construction traffic at 11pm. i was trying to get 40 miles away in new jersey. i called three different tows and no one would help me until i got to autorama. yeah, it totally sucked having to pay the 130 and change just to be dropped one exit away but after AAA refused to pick me up (why, i dont know. i have premier service WITH roadside assistance - the lady on the phone was a moron), my tow driver, victor, called one of his buddies at another tow and got me a good deal to get back to jersey with my car. he dropped me in a sketch area at around midnight and was about to dump me but noticed how uneasy i was (woman in her mid-20s sitting in a dead car by herself is not very convenient) so he offered to stay with me until the second tow came. i don't love that i had to pay so much money just to go maybe a half mile with this guy but the fact that he stayed with me and calmed me down was really awesome. i dont know many people who would do that. just bc of that im really pleased with their service. thanks again for the help in a desperate situation. more

I entrusted my car to them through Geico after an accident. They were brought the car and quoted about a week to fix since there wasn't any frame damage. After the 1st week the car was still being worked on. They quoted 2 additional weeks to wait for parts. After that I call and ask what's going on and get that they have everything and the car will be ready next Friday. I call the following Monday after...Car still isn't ready and will be ready next Friday. (We're over a month now). Call Friday and he says the car will be ready next Friday. (no explanation for why there's a hold up at this point...but I suspect it has to do with the fact that he'd already been paid and so has no incentive to ACTUALLY work on it). So I explain to him that he's done this multiple times and I have exhausted my Geico allowance for a rental car and have to pay out of pocket... So he goes and ""double checks the schedule"" and comes back with 'did I say Friday? I meant uh...Wed afternoon.' Wed (no car). Finally Thurs it's done (1 1/2 months later)....I get the car back and recently turn on the AC...They didn't fix the AC unit. Throughout the ordeal some (not all) of the staff I called were EXTREMELY rude and dismissive. Stay away from this shop! more

Autorama is the best Towing / Autobody ever!!!! They are all very honest and u can count on them always. The boss is great, Dan. Another great worker is Ernie, he is very honest and helpful.They all really care about their customers and from all the other places I've taken my car to, they are soooooo reasonable. I don't mind waiting for my car because I know it is in good hands. I don't agree with the people that have posted comments where he/she have commented that the job was undone, customer service was poor and not satisfied with their repairs. People need to be patient and can't expect things their way only. Things go wrong with cars, especially for those that wait too long to then find out there is something wrong with it. You have to keep up with your car. Autorama is the hospital for cars. Towing service has been phenominal from accident location to their shop. Tow driver Valdes is the person that you want to get help from when you are stranded on the highway in the middle lane scared out your wit preying for your life. I've been going there for 8 years. Thank you Autorama keep it up!!!! more

I am having a hard time believing what this person below me had written on November 07, 2011. These guys were the greatest guys to work with. I had my car totaled on west side highway and went to the shop about 5 hours after the accident. I had something extremely important left in my car. Lots of cash in a box that I was supposed to deposit that day. It was the money my organization had raised through a fundraiser the day before. Every single dollar was there when I went to the shop to get the box. In fact, the owner of the shop had it safely kept under his desk so nobody else would take it. He then he gave me a kind and thorough direction on how to deal with the situation I was in and what to do with the insurance company when I call them. Great great people to work with! more

APOLOGIZE FOR THE CAPS BUT WOW THESE GUYS ARE THE DEFINITION OF CON ARTISTS!! I CRASHED ON THE WEST SIDE HIGHWAY SOON ENOUGH AUTORAMA SHOWS UP PROMISING QUALITY SERVICE, INSTEAD THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE FROM THE BEGINNING. INCOMPLETE REPAIR, THEY DIDN'T INSTALL HALF OF THE THINGS THE INSURANCE PAID FOR INSTEAD THEY JUST QUICK FIXED IT. THEY EVEN ADDED DAMAGE THAT WAS NOT THERE WHEN I CRASHED JUST TO MILK EVERY DOLLAR. I HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE THAT MIGHT COME ACROSS ANYTHING THAT SAYS AUTORAMA YOUR BETTER OFF STRANDED ON THE ROAD THEN WITH THESE PEOPLE, NEGAVITE STAR AND I HOPE KARMA CATCHES UP TO THIS CROOKED BUSINESS more

I must Begin by telling you that I've used their services 3x fortunately I was not at fault in any of the accidents my car has been in but Autorama has provided me w/ excellent services all times. Their staff is very professional and provide their costumers with high quality service. I just picked up my car and I'm extremely happy w/ the work performed on it and love the feeling of knowing they are great at what they do. Even for minor things I tend to call them after I get ridiculous prices from my dealership and know they are not going to rip me off w/ overcharges. Needless to say I have no restrictions when it comes to recommending them to a friend and i've never heard any complaints from anyone that has utilized their services. more

After a friend crashed her truck with most of my belongings in it in preparation for a move, the truck was towed to Autorama. I arrived with a U-Haul cargo van about 15 minutes after the garage had closed, but they graciously stayed open for me and let me get my belongings out of the decommissioned truck. Not only that, they helped me move everything from the truck to the van without my asking for their help. When I tried to offer them money afterward, they refused it, saying a nice review would be even better. Done. Thanks, Autorama. This was an excellent last experienc with a business in New York. more

Our car was in a accident on may 10th and towed to autorama. I had planned on having it moved to the dealership where I purchased it, I was given a better deal and decided to let it stay put. It was one of the best decisions i've made lately concerning my car. They performed quality repairs, in a timely fashion and helped with my insurance paper work. It was a pleasure and I would gladly refer them to any one in need of quality car repair of any kind. more

first i have to start by saying I was already pissed because my car was towed from infront of my place by the nearby police dept, for no reason. I go to this place that is no where near my home acutally in the bronx and i live downtown manhattan. I arrive there and i see 2 ladies on the phone, one kindly said (I'll will be with you in a moment) behind me comes in a habibi looking dude yelling and didnt wait his turn. The lady asked him to lower his voice and he continued yelling. I tried to say i was next but i this point it didnt matter all i wanted was to get my car. The dude was there still yelling and swinging hands and arms now I know better he was a flame!!! at this moment the 2nd lady directs him to a supervisor and because he was disrespectful. For a moment i felt like i was in a tv show lol.The lady was very polite and appolgized for the inconvienance, i explained to her my situation and she helped me as much possible i really wanted to sue the city. i was kindly directed me to my vehicle. I would say to be in this kind of business these ladys made it as pleasent and polite as possible. Thank you Ladies you handle this very well!!!! more

i never do this , but i feel i should this time. Autorama was amazing all the way. They showed up very quickly after me pulling out to the side ( shoulder) having mechanical difficulties with my family""s vehicle i was driving while in NY. the person that assisted on the road me was very cordial and helpful. also while taking me to their premises they helped me with a car rental. thank you very much Autorama !!! more

First off, I wouldn't even give this place one star. Unfortunately I had to in order to rate this place. On my way to Albany from the City, my transmission blew. I waited over 2 1/2 hours on the Major Deegan on Friday afternoon for someone at this dump to tow my car. Apparently the first tow truck from here said they couldn't see me. I'm not sure how that is possible since I was stuck in the left lane. My car was towed and I was told that I would hear from someone first thing Monday morning. Around noon on Monday I still had not heard anything. I called at 12:30 and spoke to Tommy who told me to give him some time to look things over and he'd call me back later that day. He never called back! I called the next day, Tuesday, at noon after still not hearing back from them and Tommy conveniently was not there. The receptionist told me that I'd have to call back later to see if someone else could help me. For someone who relies on their car to bring them to and from work, this is a huge inconvenience. I called AAA and had them remove my car from this place and tow it to a real shop. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this place. My experience with them was one giant headache! more

On 3/07/2011 in the afternoon I was traveling to the city on the Cross Bronx Expressway when a driver rear ended my 2007 Toyota. I called for road service and Autorama arrived at the scene in less then 15 minutes. I was dissapointed due to the reviews I have read but I gave them a chance.They took me back to their facilty and a lady at the front desk which was so pleasent to be in a business like this guided me to their repair shop manager in which the collected my information and got me in a rental before I even said the word. I have to say I didnt recieve as many feedback from them as I wanted but my vehicle runs better then before and it looks like it just came out the dealer, also gave me a great break on my ded. which I didnt expect. I'm so glad that I was not one of those people that had a bad experience. I would so take any of my two vehicles back. Thank you AUTORAMA more

On Halloween evening I was traveling to Mass. and had the unfortunate pleasure of having a Motor Vehicle Accident on the Cross Bronx Expressway, near Jerome Ave. as a result of a driver ahead of me slamming the brakes suddenly. For anyone traveling through NY, you know this can lead to a real mess. Although it took the NYPD three hours to respond to this accident, the Autorama towing experts were on the spot. They talked me through this ordeal and explained their process for towing. They were courteous and safely towed my vehicle to their garage. One of the night crew, Raymond, was nice enough to recommend overnight accommodations as I was not area and had to make arrangements in the am. They even offered me a ride to my accommodations and continued to be concerned about my wellbeing. I can genuinely say that I have never had that level of service from an auto body shop. Two thumbs up!!! When I arrived the next day, I spoke to Miriam and Danny (The Owner) who were both very helpful and re-assuring as I opted to leave my vehicle in NY to be repaired. Danny took one look at the vehicle and told me it should take two weeks. As we spoke, I became very comfortable in my decision to have the car repaired here as he imparted his years of wisdom in this business. I could tell he was serious about his craft. He told me ""Don't worry, your in good hands"" and he was right. When I called one week later to get status on the vehicle, I spoke with Miriam who was excellent. She made sure that I had all the information I needed and gave me information I didn't think to ask for. She was a true professional. By week two I received a call stating that the car repairs were complete as promised. When I made my way back to NY and Autorama, I can tell you that sheer amazement would have to be the phrase to sum up what I found. My vehicle looked like it just arrived on the show room floor. It was in pristine condition. I was greeted by Ali who was highly professional and then Danny took me to the vehicle and had me inspect it for satisfaction. Ali settled up my paper work with a smile and I could not have been more pleased. Can this place be duplicated please??? I wish there were more places like this around with staff who love what they do and allow it to resonate to others. My hat off to you Autorama. You are awesome. If I have car troubles in the future, I will strongly consider using you for my needs. I could always use a vacation in the Big Apple!!! more

This garage is the epitome of disgusting. The estimate they gave me was almost twice as much as the other garages I asked about the same job. I decided to have my car towed somewhere else, and Autorama would not release my car until I had paid the tow fee (they would not directly bill Triple A, but informed me I would be reimbursed) and the 75 dollar fee to check the car. The staff was rude, insulting and completely unhelpful. The woman I spoke to was Ali and impossible to deal with. When the tow truck arrived to take my car to a different garage, the mechanics rolled the car into the road with the hood still open. While I was waiting for my payment to be processed, there were three other disgruntled customers returning to complain about improper repairs, stolen stereo equipment, and damage done to other areas of their cars. I would not recommend this garage to anyone and I wish there were a more efficient way to warn people against going there. STAY AWAY! This garage is sleezy. more

We were forced to use Autorama to tow a bus from I-95 near the GW Bridge. When they delivered it to the service center we needed it to go to, they backed it into a parked truck on the lot. Initially, they said they would pay for the damages because they were at fault. We brought the bus back to our location in Massachusetts and sent them an estimate. That was as far as we got. Our calls go unreturned and they refused to provide insurance informaton for a claim. Now our insurance company has to battle it out. NEVER AGAIN!! Cons: less than 1 star if we could more

If I could put less than one I would. Our company just had the misfortune of dealing with Autorama. One of our company trucks broke down and our guys were pushing it off the exit and they stopped them and towed it without even the courtesy of calling our company first. Then they called us to tell us they were not letting go of our truck until we paid their fee and if they didn't they would call the police. I tried to reason with them on the fee and they would not budge. Basically, they extorted money from us. I have never dealt with a company that was so completely rude and demanding before and we have been in business for over 40 years. Do yourself a favor and don't deal with this company ever!!! The team at Autorama were very approachable, honest and detailed with the work they were going to do on my car. At the end of it all I got my car fixed the way we discussed the same day and I did not have a hole in my pocket after it all. I will continue to go to them as well as refer them to my friends. Autorama has left my vehicle looking brand new again after my accident. The collision work was spectacular, its like I never had an accident. The paint job was well done. My experience with Autorama staff and company was professional and pleasant. I received my vehicle when it was promised to me. The cost of the body work was reasonable and affordable. I will definitely use them in the future. I highly recommend Autorama Enterprises. Pros: Excellent quality work, Great customer service more
