Our Lab and Pom just returned from a 7 night stay at the Pet Hotel in Atlantic City including full groomings. They had so much fun that they did not want to leave. Their groomer...

The staff and facilities were excellent. When we picked up our new puppy Sheba, the staff spent time with my children. They showed them how to brush and walk her. Sheba was very happy when we picked her up and\r wanted to stay and play with the other dogs. I have never worked with a pet business that is so caring and professional. The owners make you feel that their home is your home. My wife loved the personal touches of fresh flowers on the desk, beautiful dog pictures and displays. When we were leaving the pet hotel they gave us a bottle of water for Sheba's trip home, treats and a doggy clean up bag. WOW!!! WHAT SERVICE!!!\r more

WHAT AN AWESOME PLACE! 12/15/2011

I booked a week long vacation before I adopted Hailey. None of my friends or family members were available to take care of Hailey the week that I was going. I checked out several kennels and could not find one that I felt comfortable leaving her with. I called a pet sitter but did not want to leave Hailey home alone 24 hours a day and have someone just come in three times a day to walk and feed her. A few of my friends have used the Pet Hotel in Atlantic City and had wonderful things to say about them. I went to visit the Pet Hotel before bringing Hailey and was very impressed. The owner took me for a tour and spent about 20 minutes telling me about the facilities and answering my questions. I had an opportunity to speak to a few different customers both bringing in and picking up there pets. They all had only the best things to say about the Pet Hotel and told me that my dog would be very well taken care of and very happy there. I gave them a try and I am so glad I did. The Pet Hotel is 1 hour and 25 minutes from my home and well worth the trip. The location is good and easy to get to. There is plenty of free parking. They have many things in place to protect the dogs. They have a pretty large staff of dog lovers who take care of and play with the pets. The place is kept very clean. They do not have small cages like I saw at my Vet's office and the other Kennels I visited. They have 3 different size areas for each size dog with plenty of room even with the bed, toys and blanket I brought for Hailey. There were a few caretakers cleaning, playing with the dogs aand walking them. I was very pleased to see how each person handled the dogs with lots of personal attention and love. I was very happy to see that they keep records on the walks, feedings and personal information on each dog. I was very glad that I found a place that is open 365 days a year and have the owners living there. Hailey got to play with dogs her own size and made lots of friends. I was concerned that she might not like playing with other dogs. The owner tested her first. I was then given a choice of having Hailey play in small dogs grooups throughout the day or having her upfront. I chose to have her upfront during the day where she played with otehr little dogs. They had dog houses, beds and toys for the small dogs in the front gated area. They were all fed seperately and had plenty of wateraat all times. In the evening the dogs were put in their individaul accommodations after their last walk of the night. Even though they are almost an hour and a half from my house I willl definitely use the Pet Hotel whenever I travel.. \r \r more

thanks! 10/5/2011

I've been meaning to post this ever since Hurricane Irene. I'm a local and use AC Pet Hotel for doggie day care, grooming, and boarding when I'm away. My dog loves it there! I happened to be away when the area was evacuated for the hurricane. Of course, I was nervous, but I knew Scott and Jackie would take care of Scooter as if he were their own dog. I spoke with and/or got voicemails from Scott once or twice a day durning the whole ordeal and got a running account of their evacuation adventure! My dog came home very happy, and when we went recently for a grooming, he was as happy as ever when we pulled up. Great place and great people! more

Not my favorite place. 9/10/2011

I have been bringing my dog here for numerous years now, and I'm content with it. I wouldn't say it was an A+ kennel, but about a C. They take care of my dog, clean up after it, walk it, and play with it. What more could you ask from a kennel? My only regret is actually taking my dog there, if that makes any sense. The workers there TRULY cared for my dog. The girls were busting their butts walking all the dogs and try to take care of them. My one question is why won't they allow people to take a tour of the kennel area? I've been told for ""insurance"" purposes, but EVERY other kennel I've ever been to along the East Coast, allows you to take a tour of where your dog will be staying. So what're you trying to hide? What bothered me most is that throughout the years the owner, Scott, turned into someone who could care less about the dogs. He's ALWAYS on the phone. One day, it took me almost an hour to check in because I had to talk to him about medicine, and he just would not get off the phone or he wouldn't stop ordering his employees around. There was a person checking out at the same time and he got into an argument with the customer because the dog looked like it weighed more than what the vet paper said. I overheard and the dog went to the vet the day before, and he still had the nerve to try to overcharge the couple. It honestly seems like the ""we treat your dogs as if they are our own"" is a load of junk because of Scott. He only cares about the money, point blank. Jackee, his wife, is the sweetest woman you could ever meet. She always tried to sell me clothes and products. She genuinely cares about the animals. I would always see her walking dogs outside and helping out around the kennel. I wish she was the one sitting behind the counter checking dogs in and out. She's a lot more pleasant than Scott and I believe if she was more in charge, the place would be doing a lot more business. May be pet friendly, but it's definitely not people friendly. Granted, it is extremely convenient due to the fact that it's right in Atlantic City, but I, personally, would look around first. I am also choosing to remain anonymous because I feel as though I have every right to state my opinion on a REVIEW site, and I find it ridiculous that they feel as though they can scare people into deleting the truth. I am not being vindictive or lying to make myself look good, I am just putting MY experience out there, and whether or not you want to believe it, is entirely up to you. more

MY DOG LOVES THE AC PET HOTEL AND SO DO I ! 8/3/2011

MY DOG LOVES THE PET HOTEL AND SO DO I! I was very impressed with the operation. The staff is great with the pets.\r My dog was scared when I brought him in but did not want to leave when I picked him up. He had his own large gated accommodations with lots of room to run around. The Pet Hotel is in a good location\r with lots of free parking. I was able to walk their from my hotel and found the area safe and clean. Everytime I visited, Ceasar was either being walked outside by one of the staff, playing with other small dogs (with my permission), or receiving lots of attention by one of the staff. He was brushed everyday and received a complimentary bandana that matched his collar and leash. The day I drove over in the rain, they were walking Ceasar with a large golf umbrella. When they took him inside they cleaned and dried his paws. They followed all of my instructions and fed him only the food and treats I brought for him. I was able to check in late Friday night and check him out at\r 5:00 pm the day we left. They made it very convenient according to my schedule. They were eager to comply with all of my requests. I was instructed to call the pet hotel 1/2 hour before checking Ceasar out so he could be walked and ready to go. When I arrived I was amazed to receive his bed and blanket back right out of the washer and dryer. They returned the extra food and treats I left. I asked about his walks and feedings. They showed me the records that the staff keeps, listing the times of each of his 4 daily walks, feedings and comments regarding what he did on his walks, and how much he ate each time he was fed. They even fed him at the same times he normally eats at home, even though they were different from their regular feeding times. They offered me a complimentary bottle of Poland Springs water for Ceasars ride home. This is a very well run kennel that caters to each dog individually. I guess that is why they are referred to as a pet hotel instead of a kennel. I'm glad I found them and will be returning soon. It is a big relief to find a pet hotel that I can trust with Ceasar.\r more

Delay Your Plans OR Find a different Pet Hotel! 7/23/2011

My original review is being edited because after insulting the A.C. Pet Hotel with ALL the details of our negative experience on City Search, I was sent a certified letter threatening that I removed the review or ""consult an attorney"" to ""prepare for my defense"" due to ""substantial damages"" that they ""would seek"". I'm not taking my review down. I have the right to leave negative feedback due to a negative experience. I will take out more of the detailed back-and-forth I experienced with the hotel employees, including names. REVIEW After leaving the A.C. Pet Hotel, my wife and I looked at each other worried. We both commented on the fact that the place smelled of urine and were appalled by the pee-soaked doggy diaper pads we saw laying on the floor near the entrance. We had absolutely no choice but to leave him there for a few days. Our flight was leaving in three hours and if we went looking for another daycare, it meant missing our flight and loosing the cost of 5 airline tickets. When my wife picked up our dog, she was assured that he was walked 4x a day, however; he and his bed were wrought with the smell of of urine. My wife had to wash him THREE TIMES to get the smell out and I washed his bed twice. It still smelled and instead of washing IT a third time, I tossed it in the trash. When I called the A.C. Pet Hotel to inform them of the shape they returned our dog in, the owner was extremely defensive, but offered to give our dog a bath if we brought him back the next day. NO! The notion that I should even have to go out of my way to return him to their establishment to CLEAN HIM was absurd. He is 6 years old. Yes, like every dog he has an occasional accident but he has never A. peed where he sleeps or B. sleeps in his bed smelling of urine. I've worked in the publishing industry now for half my life (We've received dozens of negative reviews mind you)...and if your confident in your product, one fact stands the test of time - bad publicity is good publicity. Two life-long dog owners, NEW to the N.J. area strongly advise you not to leave your pet here. If you're going to book a place off of the internet, call ahead of time and if you can; take the time to visit with the pet hotel days before drop-off. We did so and found a GREAT pet hotel off the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing. I won't post their info, a quick Google search will suffice. more

Wow!!! What a great place 7/17/2011

My local pet hotel was booked July 4th weekend. My\r friend recommended the AC Pet Hotel, and I am grateful that she did. I was lucky to secure a reservation because of a last minute cancellation. They treated my dog like a princess. They delivered everything they claimed during our telephone conversation, and more. I was allowed to visit Chanel during the day, and even took her to a dog beach they recommended. I called the pet hotel 30 minutes before picking up Chanel, as instructed. She was fed, walked, brushed, packed up, and ready for our ride home, when I arrived. When I pulled up to the building, I saw 7, or 8 employees each walking a dog, and handling them with undivided attention, and love. Inside there were 2 people behind the desk assisting customers. One employee bringing a dog out to its owner; and another sitting on the floor playing with the small dogs in the front gated area. I could see the staff playing with the dogs in their back indoor area, and large dogs were being played with in the back yard, on the monitors behind the check-in desk. It was very busy with pets checking in. Everything seemed to be handled in an organized fashion. The staff was very caring, accommodating,and\r professional. Prior to departing, I saw the owner run out to a customer who had just picked up her dog. She asked if she could bring their dog back to the pet hotel, so the dog could be brushed, and if she wanted doggy perfume when her dog was finished. Prior to leaving they asked me if I wanted a bottle of water for Chanel's ride home. The pet hotel is small, and personalized. The staff is great. I found the facilities to be clean, safe, and in a convenient location.\r I AM NOT EASILY IMPRESSED, YET I LEFT THE ATLANTIC CITY PET HOTEL WITH A LASTING POSITIVE IMPRESSION. I highly recommend them. more

Actually NOT a bad place! 4/6/2011

After reading the reviews, i wanted to see for myself what the ""MONSTROSITY"" is about the AC pet hotel.I have 4 dogs; I have a Rotweiller/American Bulldog mix, a chihuahua, A Lhaso, and A VERY obese King Charles Spaniel (LOL). I called them and asked to check the place out, and the owner Lynn told me that i could come anytime between 10 AM and 4 PM, but i wanted to catch them at a time when they least expected it, so i showed up at 5 just out of spite.the place was actually VERY clean!i got to catch their main three employees at the same time, and what shocked me the most:all three employess have dogs of different sizes!!So theres someone that can obviously take care of my Max because she has a Pitbull, whereas the very sweet guy i spoke to can take care of my spaniel because he owns a cocker spaniel! The owner owns a chihuahua and the other employee has a shih-tzu.It was like perfection.Anyway so i had them stay for 3 nights, and when i came to visit spontaneously, they smelled fine, seemed happy to see me, and didnt seem hungry or anything.I was VERY content with their work, i gave the employees a tip!!!seriously, give the place a chance.Yeah they might not be the biggest place, but they definitely do care about the dogs! -Jana Michaels more

Let me just say... 3/30/2011

I live in the Atlantic City area, and I vacation all the time to visit my children.I have two dogs and a cat...A bully breed, a shih-tzu, and a cat.My cat only gets alone with the shih-tzu, and my bigger dog does not get along with animals in GENERAL.When i called, I spoke to a woman named Stephanie, who told me that anytime from 10 am to 4 i could come check out the place.I was hesitant because of the reviews, but indeed i checked it out.Heads up to anybody reading this...I'm going to be realistic. When i went to inspect the place, yes, there was a VERY SLIGHT odor, and when i walked in there was a young woman on her hands and knees scrubbing down the floor, the playpen that the smaller dogs can stay in, and the side of the counter.ANY kennel you go to, there's going to be an odor.Dogs pee, they make bowel movements. They're DOGS.I showed up unexpectantly and when i saw this girl on the floor cleaning, the place just showed to me that its the opposite of what everyone claims. When i was taken in the back, the grooming area seemed a little cramped, but i was worried about my animals being boarded in cages, and together.Scott informed me that upstairs is where my cat would stay, and my two dogs could be separated in to different areas.i was completely SHOCKED to look through the window to the cage room.there WAS no cages! not to mention there was yet ANOTHER staff member sitting on the floor playing with a couple of dogs!yes, i will repeat, the place had a slight odor, but if you walk into a kennel that smells like roses EVERY SINGLE TIME...theres something fishy going on.the pricing was VERY reasonable.i knew that my pitbull would be played with one on one and my shih-tzu would play with the owners malteses during the day. There is always somebody upstairs to snuggle with my baby kitty and let him know he's loved.and the greatest thing was, all of my pets BEDS were washed! that shocked me!There was also a backyard with a roof that i saw through the security cameras at the check in desk...my bigger dog was able to do her business out there since shes a runner when it comes to being handled on the leash.\r \r If you want to board your dog at a place where yes, the place smells like perfection everytime you step in, only to have your dog stuffed into a cage, have no play time (or pay extra), and hardly go out...then go to the kennel twenty minutes from Atlantic City. They wanted to charge me extra money to play with my cat...RIDICULOUS!\r Atlantic City Pet Hotel and grooming had people that were very sincere, truthful, honest, and were very down to earth.I now bring them every couple of months just for day care! its amazing...\r \r i hope ya'll found this helpful :) more

FORGET THE REST, YOU'VE FOUND THE BEST! 3/27/2011

The staff is wonderfull!! The facilities are clean!! No foul odor at all. All 3 of our girls love going there. They get to stay together in one of the suites. They all get walked 4 times a day. The ""professional"" dog walkers in the area have been bad mouthing this family runned business here on the review board. They are on a side street NOT on a main road. Don't believe the bad reviews!!!!!! Scottie the owner is so sweet and attentive to all the ""children"" that stay at his hotel!! Their groomer Bonnie is a God send!!!!!!!!!! This women can work miracles!! I wish she could transform me like she does to my Rough Collie. They are very affordable and convienently located accross from the Surf Baseball Stadium. They will even come pick up your pet. It is a SAFE neighborhood!! I don't know where that nay sayer was, but it obviously wasn't the ATLANTIC CITY PET HOTEL!!!!! more
