HVAC and Electrical service 3/19/2018

I called Appleton Cambell for repeat service because of the outstanding service they provide. I had two services today. One was HVAC provided by Matt. He was one of the most polite and friendly serviceman to ever come to my home. He gave me a detailed explanation of my situation and did a fantastic job with my system. Glenn responded to a call for an electrical issue. I'll tell ya, talk about attention to detail. Yes he was courteous and informative and all those attributes you want in an electrical professional, but this gentleman had work ethic that I thought had all but disappeared in the work force. Also I haven't been more comfortable with people I didn't know , in my house, until today. Appleton Campbell will have my business for life. Thank you Appleton Campbell, and thank you Matt and Glenn for everything. more

Constant Up-selling 3/19/2018

Every time they come out to provide service they find something else that either needs to be replaced or fixed; sometimes the new repair or replacement is related to the service they are currently there to provide but not always. I had them come out to work on my AC unit and they wouldn't touch it because they said the mold was so bad the whole unit needed to be replaced for $7k. It was a hard sell and I ended up agreeing just to get them to leave then I called and cancelled. I called someone else to do the work and when it was done I asked about the mold issue and he said that it wasn't out of the ordinary. I recently had them come to do the annual service on my heating unit and they wanted to replace my hot water heater for $2500 and replace 2 working thermostats, because they are old, to the tune of roughly $400 each. They won't be coming back and I won't be renewing my service agreement. These guys are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We are new to Virginia and have never lived in a house with a forced hot air system before. Seth came out to address some uneven air flow/ heating issues with our system and took the time to fully evaluate our HVAC and explain to us how it works. Today, they sent out Dave (at no additional charge/part of the yearly maintenance agreement) to do a full load evaluation. As a team they are brainstorming solutions to get our system working better. And both times they have been here, they were in my driveway 10 minutes before our scheduled appointment time. These guys are great! more
