I finally got to Ago last Thursday, and was weary from reading all of the bad reviews before, especially of the staff. From the moment that I arrived, I was greeted by a super ni...

If you want great food, but would like to be seated 1 1/2 hours after your reservation then this is place for you. I have been to Ago many many times (not by choice my friends don...

Definitely for the scenesters 9/19/2002

Ago's food is excellent...thank God because you can't have a conversation with whomever you've decided to go there. The atmosphere is energetic and lively, and you definitely feel like you're ""where it's at""; you also feel like everyone is looking around to see what celebrity might be there. Though celeb-hunting is sort of the fun of this place. The service is friendly and attentive, which is unusual for such a happening place. The salmon I had was delicious and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her pasta special. The tiramisu was delicious, too. Go for the food, stay to check out the stars! more

Great food...posers everywhere! 6/9/2002

Loved the food, loved the service. Had a seared ahi, pizza and the white fish and it was all superb. The white fish, especially. The menu isn't expensive unless you stray from the pastas. My brother wasn't impressed with his seafood risotta but the soft shelled crab salad was amazing. Seemed like everyone there wanted to look and act famous but they weren't. If you can get over the high "vanity factor" at Ago, it's worth the food. Pros: Crab cake salad, Patio more

Food is good, portions are mediocre. Wine is bad. Need more selection of wines. I would go back becuase of the energy of the place. Too many "working girls at the bar though". Very LA crowd. more

This is my favorite restaurant 5/21/2002

I absolutely love Ago. The atmosphere is true Italian, the waitstaff is professional and very adoring and the food is excellent. Try the mushroom risotto or any of the ravioli dishes. Pros: Personalized service Cons: You must valet more

True LA dining experience 5/21/2002

The quaint place lives up to the hype. Great food -- highly recommended are the veal medallions -- and a scene of interesting people to watch as you eat. Don Rickles was there the night I visited. Pros: experienced waiters, not too big Cons: expense drinks more
