This place is full of charm! I have lived in LA for 3 years and go here at least 2x a month! Great food, authentic accented servers lol, Peach Martinis that will take you to a new place! Simple, warm and delicious 7/1/2006

I go to Taste often and I've always wanted to try this place next door. The ambiance is nice, nothing too extravagant or overly hip but just right. All the desserts are on this table you have to walk by, so cover your eyes if you are on a diet! Haha. Our server was awesome, his recommendations were on point and the food came out in around 10 minutes. The swordfish I had was right in the sweetspot between tender and firm and the spinach was great. I am on a diet so I can't comment on the desserts, but they looked really good. Overall a great dinner. Nothing too over-the-top, but a place you can visit back often. Pros: Great service, cozy dinning room, great food. Cons: A little pricey but its WeHo after all. more

This is not the place to take someone you want to impress with conversation. The people watching is amazing...with or without a celebrity sighting. The lobster risotto was tasty...could have used a bit less olive oil, the beet salad was great and not a typical menu item. The best was Francesco, our waiter! We were seated directly in front of the dessert table so we saw everyone and everything. Francesco could not have been more attentive or charming. Next time I will ask to sit on the patio to see if it runs at a slower pace. Pros: Francesco the waiter, people watching Cons: Loud more

This is possibly the worst Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. Prior to being seated, had to sift thru the crowded bar to get a drink... Drinks were good, however once we were seated at a cramped table with my girlfriend; we proceeded to eat a 3 course meal in less than an hour? Rushed? YES! They must prepare all of their food, because our food was delivered within 2 minutes of ordering, and taken away before I could even finish... If I'm lying I'm dying... 1/10/2006

Holiday dinner. 7 close girlfriends. Four of us arrived late. Offered to wait for second table as first group already seated. They insisted we squeeze with first group so remain together. Before apps ordered, tray of red wine spilled down side of my head. Wearing cream cashmere sweater. Matching wrap on chair. Contents of handbag soaked. Clearly needed to go home, rinse hair, change, maybe make it back for dessert. Returned. Gave waiter/spiller hug to alleviate his embarrassment. Nearby diners actually applauded. Had dinner alone as friends had one last drink. Two separate bills arrived. THEY CHARGED ME FOR MY DINNER, but oh-so-kindly removed one of my drinks and an app.!!! Insult to injury, those two items WERE FOUND ON THE OTHER GROUP'S BILL!!! Tried to explain situation to manager. Looked at me as pest and repeatedly interrupted by saying, ""Are you done?"" It gets worse, but word limit reached. more

Overrated and Bad Service 11/9/2005

After hearing great things about this place, and reading all the glowing reviews, a foodie friend and I made reservations at 7:30pm, and didn't get seated until 8:15pm. After our crazy 45 minute wait, we were finally seated -- in the worst possible spot in the restaurant, right in front of the kitchen entrance. There was so much foot traffic, my purse kept falling off the back of my chair whenever anyone walked by. Loud staff were obnoxious and the food took forever. The food itself was nice, but we felt it was overpriced and that you could get equally as good food somewhere else less expensive. Many times, at these types of places, you're paying for the upscale atmosphere, but the atmosphere here wasn't worth it either. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience and I definitely won't be going back. Pros: Food is decent Cons: Overpriced, Long waits, Snobby staff more

I visited Ago with 3 friends for a mini-girls night. We had a fabulous time! Our table wasnt quite ready when we arrived for our 9:30 dinner reservation, but the scene at the bar made the time fly! We started with a peach martini (compliments of a generous and super friendly local) and with dinner we selected the least expensive ($55) bottle of pinot noir and both were delicious! While at the bar we mingled with friendly, intelligent, and over-all beautiful people. The service was impeccable and the food was impressive. Go for the lobster risotto if it is on special, you wont be disappointed. I was warned that Ago was super pricey, but I was pleasantly surprised with the value. I was able to drink two glasses of wine, split a caprese salad, and enjoy veal ravioli for only $35. It was the perfect night! Pros: service, value, patrons Cons: loud more

we had dinner in the private room in the back. the pasta and seafood were fantastic. the drinks were decent and the service a little on the slow side, but we were with a big party. would definitely go back. more
