The old witch who runs the sales room is a big part of the problem and yes mostly the telemarketers (appointment setters) are undereducated and badly equipped. I would never use this unprofessional bunch. Ed seems OK to me and I don't know the owner. If the sales room supervisor is representative of this company, they are in big trouble. She needs to be thrown out on her duff. Big problem starter. They are just now becoming aware of the damage she causes. more

I was having an issue with my heat on a very cold day. I have a home warranty with American Home Shield and they contract with Absolute Comfort. This was my first call on them, so I was curious how it would go. \r \r After placing a call with American Home Shield, I was told to expect a return call from Absolute Comfort to arrange a time. I received a call from Absolute about 2 hours later. They asked if I was available between 2 and 5 pm. I was working from home, so I agreed. Five o'clock came and went so I placed a call to them. Their technician was running behind, so it would be closer to 6 pm. The tech, Erik, did arrive at 6 pm and quickly assessed the problem. He replaced a capacitor in the blower and had it fully operational in 20 minutes. He was top notch. All in all a good experience, I give them 4-stars. If not for the delay in arrival, this would be a 5-star rating. more

Does not recommend.\r We called Absolute on a Friday evening...they sent Chad out who did sub-par work, overcharged us and caused plumbing problems. \r I've left multiple messages for the Operations manager, Ed Hillen with no reply or interest in my problem.\r My advice is to stay away from Absolute Comfort and look for a reputable AC company. more

Absolute Comfort's Mistakes Cost Me $5K+! 9/15/2011

Absolute Comfort misdiagnosed my a/c problem and sold me an evaporator coil that I did not need (and charged me a whopping $2,400). It became obvious that that was not the problem when the a/c problems persisted after the new coil was installed. Plus, their own documentation included enough information to convince my new a/c contractor that the evaporator coil was never the problem. Additionally, I now know that pressure readings taken by Absolute Comfort shortly after the coil was installed indicated that the problem had not been fixed, yet they left it that way anyway. more

Rip-Off Con Artists - DON'T USETHEM! 4/30/2011

I called Absolute Comfort Air Conditioning, 16840 Clay Rd, #101, Houston, TX 77084, Tel. 281-550-5640, as a result of an ad placed on our subdivision monthly community newsletter. The technician promised to be there within 2 hours. I left someone at the house and asked him to call me when he is near the house, and I visited a neighbor nearby while I waited. Later he called to inform me that the work was finished and that he forgot to call me. He was at the house less than 10 minutes and the bill was $ 335. When I asked what he did, he mentioned that ?he changed a fuse?. I asked him to give me the old fuse back, and he said, he threw it away. What a rip-off! Can you believe this? A company relies on lies, rip-offs and deception does not deserve to do business in the Katy area?.shame on them! There are many good, decent air conditioning repair companies, you?ve just got to ask your friends and neighbors for referrals and check them out online. And avoid Absolute Air Comfort Air Conditioning like a plague! Katy & West Houston Residents DON?T USE ABSOLUTE COMFORT AIR - spread the word to friends and family, church members, neighbors, and to anyone who you really care about. more

Dishonest Technician/Unhelpful Service Manager 6/30/2010

Our experience with Absolute Comfort began 4 years ago (2006). We had an old system that needed to be completely replaced. We went with this company for the work. The system never really cooled well at all. On June 25, 2008, we found the system acting as though it were freezing up. We would shut it off for an hour, then turn it on and it would blow cool air again. Absolute Comfort sent a technician and he told us the evaporator coil was leaking freon and needed to be replaced. It was under warranty and labor would be $1200.00. In the middle of a Houston summer, we were in a pinch and had to do it. After the replacement coil, the system cooled fairly well for about a month or so. Then, it went back to freezing up. Cons: bad techs; bad service; EXPENSIVE more

We had work on our air ducts to increase the air flow into my daughters bedrooms, add return air vents into the upstairs bedrooms, and add an additional return air vent downstairs. The tech, Robert, was very knowledgeable. He walked us through all our options and answered all of our questions thoroughly. Pros: HONEST tech, quick repair, worked with my schedule more

Dishonest Technician BEWARE 9/5/2009

The tech was supposed to come at 10 am as an emergency call to fix the AC. He didn't call us until 11 am to tell me he was going to call me back later to get directions, then he called me 30 minutes later to get directions, and 30 minutes later to tell me he was 30 minutes away. Cons: Sneaky practices, Rude personnel, Unprofessional more

Absolute Comfort Air Conditioning and Heating , Inc 5/5/2008

Got my AC system checked on April 28, 2008 and was told everything was okay. The technician said he wished he could find something wrong that way he has something to do but he can't find anything wrong with our AC unit and compressor. When he left, he set the AC thermostat at 80 degrees whic was OK for me. Two days later my kids were complaining it was so hot in the house, so I had the AC down to 65 degrees but i could not hear the unit running. My husband went to check the AC unit in the attic and discovered that the AC unit's cover was incorrectly placed back and as a result the AC switch came off. My husband placed back the cover correctly and now the i could hear the unit running but it has been running for 2 hours and 30 minutes and the whole house remains hot.. .we're not getting any cold air..I called the company about the problem we have encountered.. more
