Called for a ""leak"". Was told recaulk the tub! Needless to say I did not think that's all it was to it. Had another reputable plumbing company to come out. The found and fixed the leak. Boo ARS. Your technician was either not as knowledgeable as he should have been, or didn't think my issue warranted his time. Next time I'll call the other company 1st. more

Thanksgiving Day - water leaking from the ceiling! I called ARS and got help from Kenny that night. The next day Homer K. showed up early at 8 am to repair a leak in the hot water line. He was knowledgeable and went to work right away. I had questions about how much of the line needed to be replaced. Homer took the time to show me the condition of the line and to help me make an informed decision to replace nearly all of it. Then he and his helper (his son) spent the day carefully taking out the old pipe and replacing it. There was only minimal need to cut through a ceiling in one room to get the job done. I was very pleased with work and the timely response on a holiday weekend! Thanks! more

Our long time friend the Water Heater had a gas leak and had earned the appropirate nick name. ""Dan F"" from ARS was honest about the options we had and was sensitive to our pain in hearing how much more water heaters had increased in price since 1994 when ARS had installed our last quality friend the Water Heater. It was not difficult to decide that we needed a new water heater. But Dan's committment to the customer continued. When he removed the new heater from the box, it was dented and without hesitation or excuses he left and got another unblemished heater and still had it installed in the allotted time. This is another reason I readily use ARS. more

Homer successfully solved a challenging faucet installation issue that a younger plumber couldn't complete. I appreciate ARS sending him here. more

I have American Home Shield. They referred me to ARS when another plumbing company could not, or perhaps would not, accomodate my schedule. I called American Home Shield this Saturday morning, and a couple of hours later ARS contacted me to schedule an appt for later this morning. Domingo arrived to fix my garbage disposal and clogged drain. He was friendly, professional, and had the job done in about 15 minutes. Yes, I would highly recommend this company. They are in the customer service business, and are happy to accomodate you in a timely manner. I was happy with this company from the start. The lady who called to schedule an appt. and the plumber who arrived to complete the job, were both friendly, and professional, and I felt they cared that they satisfied the customer. more

Find me a good review of these people 5/30/2012

Find me a good review of these people and you probably found an employee disguised as a customer. You don't have to believe everyone's review remarks, but rest assured, the stars they give are rightly deserved. This is a horrible, horrible organization, run poorly and staffed with some of the worst of the worst. Are there good ones? Sure, but I hope they get out. The good techs who even happened to work with ARS know and they leave as soon as possible so as to not be spoiled by the whole bunch. My story . . .without being too long . . . we had a ""supposed"" gas leak from our furnace. We called ARS for the same reasons many people do. First, it was late and they were on call. Second, they are a known and national company, surely they are good . . . wrong. So we call at night and we get the guy. He is nice and honest and says there really is no reason for him to come out because no parts places are open at that hour and he knows he will need a part. No problem, he comes in the morning. Now we need a gas leak test, but the AC guys don't carry any of that and have none of it. It took 3 total guys to come out and despite never finding anything they change out a part. There is still a ""leak"" and so we call them back out. The guys with their soap and um, a lighter, still can't find any leak. The only ones with a gas detector are the plumbing guys, so they call them out. They come, go up, realize it is the furnace and refuse to do that because that is not a plumbers job, it is the AC guy's job, but again, they don't have a leak detector. Finally, the supervisor, getting angry with my wife over her frustration and obviously feeling silly, finds out I am on my way to the house and pulls his guys out. I pull up while they are there, see I am there and they take off. We call the supervisor and he informs us he is done with us, not going to help us and that he will completely refund the amount and he hangs up on us. He never picks up again. A matter of fact, we even hear him in the background when I have to call the office to try to get my refund, letting the girl in the office know he isn't going to talk to us. The good news is that we got our refund. The bad is that he abandoned us on a Friday afternoon, too late to get the problem resolved. We eventually did by going with the Woodlands AC (review for them at their spot on Yelp), but what a horrible company ARS is. They also, in the process, signed us up (with our approval) for a monthly fee that included bi-annual service work and discounted rates on service calls. While, surely, you would think they would want to cancel that service when they abandoned us, they didn't. Now, I can semi-understand because we did sign up for it and we did not technically cancel it, so no points off for that. However, for the next four months, on the phone with them, we tried to cancel it (which you can do at anytime, no charge), they said they would and then, boom, the next month, another charge and the same conversation with the same agreement of ""sure"". It's an obvious company culture of too high of prices and less than desirable business practices. Btw, all their prices were indeed super inflated, as checked with two different AC company's. more

ARS Air conditioning unit repair 5/8/2012

I used them for the first time and had a HORRIBLE experience. DON""T EVER USE THEM!! My downstairs neighbor said water was leaking from her ceiling where my AC unit was located. I turned off my AC and made an appt for the next day at 1pm. I took the afternoon off from work. At 5pm I finally called after not hearing from them all day. They said ""I was next in line and that it would probably be 1.5 more hours."" I told the dispatcher to have the driver call me to let him in the gate. He never called and the dispatcher and I had to relay messages back and forth to the driver and call the company about 5 times to get the guy at my door. When he arrived he said ""Oh, your AC unit is on the roof and I don't have a ladder. You needed to request I bring a ladder. We will have to come back another day."" I was very upset that nobody told me about needing to request a ladder and I thought having a ladder was part of the job. He said it wasn't and someone would have to come another day with the ladder. When I called the company to complain that I needed this fixed today, they told me that there was nothing they could do and that the customer service people to file a complaint with were gone for the day. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! more

NOT RECOMMENDED 8/24/2010

Do you enjoy the feeling of getting taken advantage of? Then you should DEFINITELY call these guys. But do your homework before calling them...go to youtube RIGHT NOW and find out as much as you can about HVAC Services & Processes so you can defend yourself from rampant up-selling and horribly overpriced services from commission driven technicians. 24 hour service? Um, I don't think you can call it ""24hr service"" when it takes 11 hours from initial phone call to service. If they can't get there in less than 4 hours, then they shouldn't offer 24hr service. And don't get me started on trying to get a refund. When they want to sell you more overpriced services, they are amazingly attentive. But refunds? All of a sudden, no one is available. Isn't that coincidental? Do I have to mention the 95 complaints against them that have been logged with the Better Business Bureau in the past 36 months? 95 complaints!?!?! Do you realize how wildy displeased someone has to be to file a formal complaint with BBB? The objective evidence is there, so see for yourself. more

Poor service 10/19/2009

There first tech didn't check out my entire system so a month later water was leaking out of the vent area from the unit in the attic. It caused my celiling to fall in and damaged the sheet rock on the walls also.. Still didn't fix the a/c system...\r The second tech changed out a few items but after he left the compressor burned up and they wouldn't come back out that day to find out what had happened. I have spoken with someone at there office and they said that they are not going to be responisble for the damgae to my celiling due to the last repair order which it only says that they put a pound of freon in the system which that is clearly not the problem.\r They should have fixed all the problems which will fix my celiling also. Pros: There are not any!!!!!! Cons: Bad Tech's, Bad Customer service more

They are fast to schedule appointment, but the technician service was bad!!!! DO NOT USE! 10/8/2008

My fridge was not cooling so I called ARS hoping they could give a quick fix. The next morning this guy came. He seemed very tired and was not very friendly, and basically ignored my questions like he's deaf or I was dumb. When he saw my fridge, he complained that we had turned the fridge off. He said the fridge had to be on for 24 hrs in order for him to check. Well, when we made the appointment, nobody said anything about fridge needed 24 hrs on for technician to see. I told him that & he didn't say anything. Anyway, he was very inpatient, spent a short time to check the back of fridge, and then told me the compressor was gone, and the repair estimate was $672, which doesn't worth it. When I asked him what was the reason the compressor gone so fast (fridge is only 4 yr old), he said "it just happened, just like a car". I thought a technician could at least give you some reasons, at least something that i could learn to take better care of the next fridge. Well, he gave nothing, and charged me $79.99 for the "service". Days later, ARS customer service left me a message asking for service evaluation. I called back & it was automated recording. I left message that I didn't appreciate the "service" & especially the "attitude" of the technician. Well, nobody ever called back to follow-up nor to apologize, which tell me that either their recording machine was broke, or they simply don't care about any customer negative feedback. Needless to say, I will NEVER use ARS for any service in the future. *******I am back again because I have more updates about my fridge!!! I want everyone to know that this ARS service technician who came to "check" my fridge actually didn't know a thing. Another tech just came & found out the COMPRESSOR IS FINE, the only problem is the compressor overload protector which only cost $25 and it is cold now. This ARS tech also removed my compressor cover and DID NOT put it back. And he charged me $79.95 for the service. DON'T EVER USE THEM!!! Pros: fast appointment Cons: bad service!!! the tech has no knowledge! DO NOT USE more
