4000 characters is just not enough to explain 3+ months of runaround!\r \r I was into a kitchen remodel & upstairs floor refinish. ALL my possessions were in the basement & I was living in a small space in the basement. Days of rain resulted in the sump pit filling with water & the pump coming on to control it. The pump outflow was plumbed into a basement drain when the house was built in 1962. When the pump came on, the drain overflowed. I hand manipulated it to keep water from flooding the basement until I could reach the recommended ARS Rescue Rooter.\r 9 May 2015, Set appt with ARS, Ben P showed up, evaluated the drain, said it was obviously damaged, but snaked it to open it up some. Gave me an estimate of $1600 to move water heater, replace drain & fill hole with concrete; $5500 if estimated 10? of pipe to main drain needed replaced which would also require removing the furnace for access. Said would need camera to check pipe, set appt for Mon 11 May. My son called Ben P. to tell him he didn?t want them to take out the water heater & he would do it which brought cost down to $1150. Ben took my credit card info for half down of $575.\r 10 May My son removed water heater & rerouted the sump outflow to the back yard.\r 11May Evan came to run a camera & replace the drain. He said I needed a camera guy, he?s just a dig guy. He removed the concrete from around the drain & took out the old drain. He showed me the connecting pipe was rusty & breaking apart. He took out bucket of mucky dirt & the drain pieces, tracking muck through the house. When he came back in, he dribbled purple pipe primer on the sidewalk, porch, front threshold, through the upstairs, down the stairs, through the carpeted basement & into the pantry! Since my granite was to be installed that day, the granite people said to cover my hardwood with cardboard & tarps so the cart wouldn?t mar the new floor; therefore, the blotches upstairs were on protected floor. There were 5 steps & the stair landing with blotches, 5 spots on the carpet, 1 on the threshold, & 1 in the pantry. When I brought the purple blotches to Evan?s attention, he tried to scrape it up from the newly installed hardwood steps with his key. I stopped him because he was causing more damage to the wood than just the primer penetration! He called his boss & told him what he?d done. He told me to call John Custis, gave me his number, & said their insurance would cover the damages. I called the number immediately but John was ?busy with a client?. Michelle asked what the problem was, I told her. She put me on hold, came back, said they would send someone out to take up the stains from the wood & clean the carpet. I told her it was new wood, hadn?t had the final seal coat on yet & only my hardwood guy was going to repair it. Back on hold 2x more before came back & said contact my hardwood guy to fix it then send them the bill & they would take care of it & they would contact their carpet people to handle the carpet damage. Meanwhile, Evan put in a temporary drain, said to call for camera guy before he could put in permanent drain. He left behind muddy handprints on the stairwell wall, basement living room wall & the door to the pantry, muddy tracks all through the basement, mud & muddy water on the pantry floor, & a bucket of stinky mud, in addition to the purple stains.\r It's now 3+ months later, of which 7 weeks were without hot water, many phone calls, excuses & runaround, no reimbursement, nothing has been resolved & I am very angry. I have 7 pages of detailed notes on this issue, way more than 4000 characters cover but BEWARE, this is NOT a company you want to do business with! They will do shoddy work when they do any, have no care of your home, take no responsibility for their errors. I feel very strongly that I am one among many other seniors/ widows/women who are bullied & taken advantage of by ARS.\r written 12 Aug 2015 more

Tristan S. and Ricky R. installed a new furnace, air conditioner, and humidifier to our house. They did a fantastic job! It took all day and there were things they ran into like going in through the ceiling to add pipe and making an exit through our brick wall to the outside, but they never complained and stayed until the job was done. They also answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable using the new system. I would highly recommend them to anyone! more

Aaron was my service technician and I felt that he was trained by his company to ""up sell"" the drain cleaner product for sinks that I did not need. I searched for on-line information about the product and when there was none, I called the product company directly. They said that the product does work, however they do recommend selling it as ARS Colorado does. I had to ask him to wear protective covering when he walked through my home, which seemed to offend him. I had called ARS because I had black water and they were offering a $88 dollar special. I ended up with a $250 dollar bill, and the way Aaron dealt with that was by telling me it was $350. When I was shocked he said just joking it is only $250.00. He is a master salesmen - I will give him that. Ultimately I did not feel that I completely trusted him or his company. more

I had a plumbing problem that other technicians were unable to fix in over 8 hours at my house. Stephen D. came later and did a fantastic job. He was in and out in 10 minutes and had my seemingly impossible plumbing job knocked out in no time. I will request him personally every time in the future. more

Steven installed new gas furnace in my tiny crawl space. It was a very difficult task to bring the unit into crawl space. He had to reassemble the furnace in order to do that, and then assemble it again. It took a lot of extra time. He also readjusted air ducts for better furnace performance. He did a truly remarkable work for me. I'm very grateful, and warm -:) Many, many thanks. more

ARS is a scam. Let me start by saying that asking for 50$ up front even if you dont work is a scam...you can give a 2 mil dollar bill and just go from house to house all day long collecting 50 bucks. (which is not far off from what happened to me) This is YOUR business YOU need to go out to peoples houses if you want to be in the plumbing business.. sometimes you can do business and sometimes you cant. How dare you make me pay for the ride over here. every plumber needs to go somewhere.\r \r I needed to take my bathtub faucet off and put a new one on. I took the faceplate off and tried to loosen the faucet from behind the faceplate. It felt really tight so i called a plumber to come help me. they shined a flashlight behind the faceplate and said there are threads they could see. Then without even trying to loosen it he said ""we can get your shower working again."" he proceeded outside to his truck with his accomplice, did some talking with each other, wrote something down on an invoice then headed back inside to talk to me. he handed me an estimate for over $2,000 dollars!! I said look guys i just want you to unscrew my faucet. they told me its so old they did not want to risk breaking anything. I grudgingly gave them 50 bucks and told them to be on their way.\r \r The next day I called a different plumber and when he got there he said, and i quote ""This faucet is made to be unscrewed without removing the faceplate."" it was so simple he almost removed it without any tools. Now granted iam not a plumber i dont know anything about plumbing and it cost me 100 bucks to learn how to unscrew a faucet. But that is exactly why i called a plumber. These guys dident even know how the faucet worked and if they did know then they were purposely trying to scam me out of $2,000 dollars. Either way its not a business i ever want in my home again. Iam writing this hopefully to keep someone else from getting ""ARS'ed"". more

\r Its always a pleasure to speak with someone who is professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Keith gave me the info I needed on a furnace/humidifier issue and showed me what was happening with my old furnace, what my options were, and how I could proceed to fix the furnace problem. This was just what I needed to make an informed decision....thanks, Keith. more
