I ordered a Bridesmaids dress from them last week for my cousin's wedding......it should not take 23 minutes (I timed it) to place an order for a dress. My cousin said that they had all of the information needed and that I only had to give them my measurements and credit card number. No. I ended up having to repeat my address 3 times and also had to find the dress style number online because they had no clue. If it's this bad for a bridesmaid I can't imagine ordering as a bride. They treat us so professional, and please us even though it was my sister first experiencia going bridal shooping. I originally went to A Formal Affair in October of 2009 looking for a specific wedding dress that I had seen on their website. When I first arrived, I was ""greeted"" by a very rude associate who informed me that the store was by appointment only (which I had not been aware of before driving an hour there). She also very rudely informed me that they did not carry that brand of dresses (Mori Lee). I ended up making an appointment for right then and staying to browse the dresses. Maris was fairly pleasant in helping me look for dresses that matched by budget and style. I was pretty certain that I had found ""my perfect dress"", and was told that I could not take photos of it unless I bought it. So....I ended up agreeing to buy the dress, and they made me pay 100% of the bill up front (mainly because I totally love the dress). My daughter is getting married and due to her work schedule, doesn't have a lot of time to look at wedding dresses. I have gone to many beautiful stores, looked through the dresses and then made appointments for her if I saw the styles she is interested in. I went into A Formal Affair and saw no sales associates. As I browsed the bridal dresses, I did hear voices in the back so I continued to browse, moving toward the back of the store looking at the gowns. Suddenly, a woman walked up and asked if she could help me. I told her I was looking for my daughter and before I could continue, she informed me they do not allow browsing... I would need to make an appointment to browse! How would I know if I even wanted an appointment? She informed me that ALL Bridal Stores require an appointment and do not allow browsing, and that is the way it is done. Well, you can imagine how this conversation went. She was rude and she embarrassed and upset me, so I left saying I would NOT like to make an appointment and would never be back. Even though it upset me, I'm just glad we didn't make an appointment, having never even been in the store. I would hate for my daughter to have been humiliated like I was. I would never recommend this store to my friends. I wish I had gotten the name of the woman who treated me this way, but I was so stunned, I didn't even notice. My sister and I went wedding dress shopping for her big day. We went to three other stores before we got to A Formal Affair. After many experiences of horrible customer service, Keri at A Formal Affair was the most delightful person we met that day! She took her time to get us the dress that suited my sisters needs best. We had a fabulous time, got a gorgeous dress. One things for sure, when my time comes around, A Formal Affair will definately be my first stop!? Pros: service more

I was a bridesmaid in my aunt's wedding quite recently, and after searching and searching for weeks for a proper selection we found this store. There was a good amount of dresses and the display was very nice. Unlike other stores where the dresses look dishevled and manhandled the dresses at A Formal Affair look taken care of. Plus the service was very nice. The ladies that helped my aunt find the perfect bridesmaid gown that all the bridesmaid agreed on were so patient. They would give you enough room to converse and yet be there to answer your questions. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend A Formal Affair. After searching for months to find the perfect gown I thought I was just going to end up at David's Bridal and be wearing the same gown as all my friends. I kept going from shop to shop them telling me it would take up to 10 months to get my gown in and my wedding is in June!!!! I went to A Formal Affair where they can get your dresses in between 4-6 months. My sales associate was so helpful and listened to exactly what I was saying and helped me find the perfect dress! I also needed to get bridesmaids and my husbands groomsmen taken care of. A Formal Affair has those too! I was able to match my bridesmaids perfectly to the groomsmen. They had such a large variety of colors to choose from for vest's and ties. I was also able to find the most precious flower girl dress there. I walked out feeling so relieved that I had found everything for my big day. I am able to get my alterations done there and had a shipping date for my dress within days! A Formal Affair had great customer serivce, plenty of different style gowns to choose from, and a great selections of bridesmaids and tuxedos! Would highly recommend to have everything for your wedding party done here! Pros: One Stop Shop more

I made an appointment a couple months ago to look at wedding dresses. After I made my appointment I came across this site where the reviews were terrible but I went anyways. I walked in and Maris the lady that helped me was awesome!! She did more than any other store I had been in. For me that was great being busty its hard to get a size 8 to fit but she did her best to get the dress I loved to work so that I could see what it should look like. Now fast forward to me visiting the store back to look at bridesmaid dresses and receiving attitude as soon as I walked in by this one associate. I left. Again, I visit the store with my sister(from out of town) and my girlfriend to look and attitude again from the same associate. We came in close to closing and she kept reminding us what time they closed and insisting the dress I bought had been sold but I was looking at it!!! I'm not sure if she is the manager or what but she is in the wrong business. I am very disappointed of what should have been a fun time was ruined by her attitude and unwillingness to help. I'm hoping when I go back for my fitting that Maris is there otherwise I think I will just take it somewhere else to be altered. more

After coming over to this site from Kudzu, I was not at all surprised that everyone who'd taken the time to write horrible reviews also took the time to repeat it here. As a very busy wedding planner, I don't have a lot of extra time to write bad reviews for various stores. Moreover, it is rare that I encounter service so bad as to warrant a review. I had gone to a few of the stores in town that said they carried the particular dress line I was interested in (Pronovias) You know the drill; you call, they claim they have the dress, you drive in, no dress. Pros: Largest Pronovias Selection in GA Cons: Small fitting rooms more

After reading the reviews on here, I am shocked! I had quite the opposite experience at this store. My friend was the bride, and after waiting for an opening at David's Bridal for about an hour or two, we gave up and tried the next store on her list. We walked in (granted, this was a Monday - a holiday, though - MLK, Jr., Day) and my friend was able to see a consultant right away. We walked through the bridal gown area and she picked out a handful of gowns, eventually narrowing them down to 4 to try on for her mom & grandmother, who were going to be in town in a couple of weeks. All the dresses she picked out seemed unique and ""more special"" than the ones DB had, AND were priced $200-$400 LESS than similar gowns at DB. We made an appointment to go back then & when we came back, they had the dresses ready and waiting for us. We helped the bride pick the final one & while they were writing up the order & taking measurements, the other bridesmaid and I shopped for the maids dresses. We found a few styles we liked & tried them on, settling on one style fairly quickly. They showed us all the color options, etc., and the dresses wound up being right around $100 - which was the least I have ever paid for a bridesmaid's dress. I had to split my payment over 2 credit cards and that was no problem for them. My only complaint was that it did take a couple weeks longer for the dresses to come in than they originally stated (although they never gave a specific date, just a ballpark). The bride's dress came in on time and the alterations were done in a matter of a few days - then the dress went home with the bride's mother-in-law for storage until the wedding. By contrast, when I purchased my wedding gown at David's Bridal, they made the alterations within a reasonable time frame, but then held onto the dress until the week before my wedding ""so they could steam it and have it ready for me"" - this made me nervous for a few reasons - No. 1 being that this DB store was 50 miles from my home! So I had to make a third trip just to pick up my dress (that was aggravating & a waste of gas). Overall we've had a very positive experience and I really am surprised by the negative comments. I'm white and certainly didn't feel discriminated against; and other people in the store seemed to be having good experiences as well. Where do I start? First of all, I was riped off, Her price was $400 higher than other places. She was initially very nice but once she got all her money and made you sign the contract, she became the devil. Well, I ordered my dress in Sept and was promised to have my dress no later than mid January. I called a week before the time to get my dress and was told the dress would not be in until end of Jan or Feb. 1st week of Feb, where is my dress? No where to be found. I was offered someone elses dress that was 4 sizes small than what I ordered. I was still in shock that the owner would offer me someone elses dress and again push my pick up date yet another week. After being delayed almost a month, I refused and stormed into her shop. Upon entering she hugged me and said, oh your dress just came in today. Why did she not call? I cannot answer that. She now charged me $75 more because my bridesmaid did not order from her. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Even though, I wanted elegance, and did not want the same wedding dress as every one (reason I did not go to David's bridal).... I should have gone to Davids Bridal.
