I'm a proud daddy and my wifey told me I needed a little hair cut. She always get's her hair done at Zing. I went in with my daughter and while I chatted it up with my wife's favorite stylist, Joy, Sherell painted my daughters toes and then did her hair. We both left very satisfied! more

I went into Zing on a saturday afternoon needed an immidate hair due for a job I had gotten unexpectedly. I had been turned down all day by many other salons because they were ""booked"". When I walked into Zing I figured they would turn me down too because every stylist looked busy. Joy greeted me and said if I had a seat she could fit me in for a full highlight and cut. As I waited I got to play with 3 very adorable dogs, read girly magazines and be served sodas by the receptionists. I walked out 2 hours later with a brand new due and ready to start my new job! I have avoided going to high end salons because of the cost. I went in to get my hair done at Zing and I was very very impressed. I found it to be about 2/3 of the price of a normal salon but I was more satisfied than any other salon I had ever been to that cost me twice the price! I will defenitly be returning! I've been living in Boulder my whole life, I am a 64 year old Male. I have never been to a fancy hair salon for fear of feeling out of place. I got a new job and needed a new style, so, I sucked it up and went into Zing, a hair salon recommended by a friend. Joy did my hair and I'm happy to say, she made my first visit to a fancy salon memeorable and warming. Her humor is what I enjoyed the most. She had me laughing the whole time...and I'm a guy that loved to laugh! Overall, a wonderful experince and I will defenitly be back! I was visiting from L.A. and I needed a place to get my hair done. My friend who I was staying with recomended I got to Zing...When I entered the Salon I was greeted by 3 adorble dogs. The poodle with the pink bow in it's hair sat on my lap and gave me lots of love while I got my hair done. Zing provided me with a wonderful new hair style to go back home and show everyone and a friendly staff to make my trip worth while...but really...I'd even come back just for the dogs! I came into this salon with six inch roots. Joy did my hair and turned me into a beautiful brunette! I would defenitly come back again. I just got my hair done at Zing for the first time...I have to say how impressed I was with the kindness and willingness to help make sure I left 100 percent satisfied. Joy, the owner as I was informed. worked hard on my hair and made me look better than I have in years. I loved how easy it was to talk to her and how open she was to talk about anything. Moving to Boulder three years ago, I can still recall how I felt the first time I discovered Zing when taking a walk around the Pearl Street Mall area: awed by the bright colors and products and intrigued by the friendly stylists emerging from beaded curtains to greet me. I immediately booked an appointment for highlights with Salina, who is one of the sexiest, strongest women I know. After just having her second child, she still comes in four times a week, looking amazing and giving a great cut, color or style to anyone! Since Zing has been my hair salon, Travis has also done by hair and just recently gave me some really sweet shag bangs. Hip Sierra does my brows...the staff is fun and friendly, to say the least. Joy's craziness that everyone speaks of exists, but in way that adds to the flavor and atmosphere of her salon. She started the business and her attitude, styles, fashion and little dogs only enhance the appeal of Zing. Regardless of whether Joy dyed her dogs with beet juice or not, anyone who is a regular at Zing knows that her dogs are the world to her. Little Franny is so damn cute! People badmouthing Joy and the Zing Hair Salon are out for a power trip; just because you had one bad experience there doesn't mean the salon is horrible. I have witnessed a fluctuation of employees since I have been going to Zing, but I know that everyone working there is trying very hard to be the best stylist they can be. Give people a chance, people! As long as I'm here is Boulder, Zing will be my salon of choice. Pros: Friendly staff, lush vegetation, funky music, little dogs more
