I took my computer to them about 6 years ago and they charged me over $200 to not fix my computer. They told me it was my mother board and replaced some things. After that I noticed that some of my programs were missing or not working right. It never worked right again and I ended going to Wal-mart and getting an inexpensive E-machine which I still have. My daughter and her husband bought a refurbished machine from them about seven months ago and it has already stopped working. I wish they had told me ahead of time and I would have warned them away. They charged them over $300 for a refurbished computer that is now worthless. They don't stand behind their work at all and only want more money to line their greedy pockets. I noticed some really good reviews on here for them and they all sound like they are written by the same person. Probably someone who works there. Would never, never, never recommend them. more

Had two computers, 1 was doing absolutely nothing but had lots of family photos on it stuff dating back to 2009 and beyond! Our newer computer began giving us all sorts of problems and the guys at World of cdrom took care of both systems for me. Not only did they fix my newer computer, but they got all my family photos from the old machine and put them on the new one so now I can enjoy them again. Thank you for retrieving those and solving two problems in one go! more

When our laptop stopped working we visited a few places to get quotes. We decided on World of CD-ROM as they were very straight forward. We dropped it off Monday morning. When they had learned what was wrong with the laptop, they took the time to learn about our needs and gave us a few options to choose from. We decided to go with a new desktop system instead of another laptop and it really is a better fit. We picked it up last night after work and we are very pleased. They saved all of our files and programs and now they are on the desktop. We really appreciate the time they took and how quickly our issue was resolved. We highly recommend this shop. more

I like this shop. All the guys here are decent guys and don't yank you around and they'll offer advice if you ask. I just finished putting together a custom system and they really helped answer all my questions and offered good advice and saved me a load of change. Turns out you don't need to dump a dumb amount of money for a sweet system.... been gaming for a month and everything works great. Thanks for the help guys! more

Terrific service and products 3/3/2012

Everything about World of CDROM is great. The staff has a very helpful attitude, turn-around time is quick and support is local. They have built four systems for me and Josh has taken the time on each occasion to select the components that will give me the system I want and need. I truly appreciate having a local person to call on for support, too. more

Fixed our printer 2/24/2012

Printer started having some troubles. Started getting paper stuck a lot. We took it in and they got it fixed up by the end of the week. Nice boys down there thanks for your help. more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! 2/23/2012

Went in to get some new RAM. Showed a photo of what I needed and the specification it had to fit. Sold me the DDR3 instead of DDR2 so I had to go back and exchange it. Went home to install and it wouldn't work. A REAL computer professional explained to me that they sold me the wrong item for my computer and anyone who actually knew what they were doing would know that. Ended up having to go to the store 3 times in 1 hour and it cost me $10 because of a restocking fee. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! more

Why wait? 2/11/2012

Went to another place to have my computer looked at. I kept being told to wait. Don't know what they were in the middle of but I didn't see any people around and didn't have a lot of time to wait around so I left. I called back later and got transferred to the tech department but whoever was there put me on hold. When another person picked up the line to check on me, I kept being put on hold. What a sucky way to get a customer.\r \r Went to World of CD-ROM yesterday and when I came in I was greeted and asked if I there was anything I was looking for or needed. I asked my questions and they answered and addressed my concerns right there. Bought the part they recommended and put it in when I got home - everything works great. Thanks guys!!! more

Made Internet Setup Simple 1/11/2012

My grandmother just moved to the area to be closer to the family. We had bought her a computer so she could have email but we needed help getting her internet set up. SBC left her really confused when she got her router, but World of CD-ROM simplified everything for her. They sent someone out to come to her house to set everything up and even called into SBC for her and got everything activated. The guy that came out was very polite and patient with her questions. We were so grateful for World of Cd-roms help and recommend them to anyone. more

Considerate to Students 12/29/2011

Near the end of my semester my laptop went on the fritz. My roommate told me about this computer place and I drive by it all the time so I brought it in. They asked about my situation since I was a student, if I had another computer to work from and I didn't. They offered a laptop rental for as long as my laptop was in service so I could keep working on my school stuff. What a lifesaver! Turned out I had some trojan viruses and spyware and they cleaned it up, my laptop works so much better now and I was so grateful not to be without during school. more

Helped me with Christmas Gift 12/22/2011

Wanted to get my wife a new laptop for christmas. Josh helped me understand the specs so I could get something that would work for what she wanted it to do and did it within my budget. Really appreciated the time he took with me. When the laptop was ready he went over everything with me in the shop. He was even willing to go along with setting my wife up for a surprise when I brought her in last week to show her the laptop and he had it ready with a Christmas bow and everything it was real nice and she was very surprised. Good, helpful service 11/19/2011

I had CD-Rom build me a new computer for graphic and photograpic work and it turned out great. When I had an initial problem with the CPU in sleep mode, they spent several days checking it over and eventually it became clear that my internet modem was the culprit. Very helpful and attentive... yes they might not be the cheapest in town, but you DO get what you pay for. more

Very Helpful! 9/24/2011

We came in because our new puppy had been chewing on the laptop cable. We had taped it up but then started noticing some other problems, it was starting to run slow, sometimes the laptop would charge and sometimes it wouldn't. When I called they said they may have another power cable in the store but bring the laptop with me so we could be sure it was a match. It was! They also offered to check the battery for me to make sure there wasn't a problem with the battery or where the cable plugs in. \r \r They were friendly and answered all my questions. I mentioned some other things about the laptop that it was not working as fast as it used to. They made sure everything in the laptop was working ok, nothing had to be replaced, but they did find spyware that explained the problems I was having. I really liked that they told me upfront how much would be before they did anything and they were really reasonable! My computer runs so much better now and I'm glad we went with them. more
