Best Customer Service I Have Received 9/8/2010

Our A/C and heating unit were 18 years old. By afternoon when the temperatures were high, the temperatures in the house were so high that it had gotten hard to sleep. We had used Wilson in the past and been exceptionally pleased with our bandaids (as some reviewers refer to them). I don't think we could have asked for more from our old system. Still working, but needed to be put to pasture. The most impressive aspect of the whole transaction was dealing with Clint, the person who initially investigated our system and made recommendations. We had set up to have three additional estimates the same day. Clint presented himself in a trustworthy and professional manner, even to the point of locking up and letting my dogs out and back in since I had to leave before the work was done. We paid $200 more than the ""other guy's"" bid because of two things - Clint wowed us with his hands on service and Wilson's warranty was more than $200 more impressive than the large national chain with which we did not not go. They even followed up and added duct work to ensure that two rooms got more airflow. The second crew was even nicer than the first. We will stick with Wilson for the great service we received, but we'll probably ask for Clint because he isn't much of a used car salesman - just an honest guy doing an honest day's work. The kids, and the dogs, are extremely happy the house can get cool enough to need a light blanket at night. A good night's sleep in a comfortable setting - priceless. more

Beware of these guys! 7/10/2010

Our upstairs air went out in June on a weekend so we were desperate. I don't know much about air conditioning units but it was still blowing, it was just blowing hot. I contacted the first service that was open on the weekend which was Wilson. They were prompt and after about 30 minutes or so of time in the attic and outside the tech determined that I needed an entire AC unit at $7,000. The unit is old so I wasn't too surprised.\r \r I double checked with another company on the following Monday just to be sure and he fixed the problem with my unit without even going into the attic which is where a portion of the unit is located (the Wilson guy spent a lot of time in the attic). The other tech said that ""anyone that has been in this business could look at your outside unit and see that this part was out"". He literally had it fixed and blowing cold within 20 minutes at a charge of $340. He also said my unit probably has about another two to three years or so, just depends.\r \r The tech that fixed the problem also told me to be aware of service people that are working on commission, they'll try to figure out any reason they can to get you into a new unit. He said he worked hourly so there was nothing in it for him to gain. I don't know if the Wilson tech was on commission or not, but he definitely wasn't knowledgeable. Pros: Open on Weekend Cons: Technician didn't know what he was doing more

Very friendly folks.?? 7/9/2010

Your team was, as usual, very good about letting us know about the need for a checkup, when they would arrive, getting here when they said they would and keeping us informed about the condition of our furnace. Very friendly folks. Thanks much, C.R. Prahl? more

Something Wrong...Better than anticipated!!!!! 5/5/2010

Recently I started having issues with my air conditioning system, and over the course of the last two weeks three companies have been out, all with different solutions and all walking away with some more of my money. I finally asked a family member who services their air, and they said Wilson has been taking care of them for the past five years. They had been using a family friend to keep their air running (to the tune of over $850 a year in repairs) and called Wilson after enough was enough. Wilson came out and evaluated my situation and not only identified the issues with my system, but explained the short life span of the band-aids sold to me by the other companies. The technician helped me design a system that not only corrected the problems, but gave me a ten year warranty on the new system. One of the things I found amazing is that the Trane company themselves only say a system should last 12-14 years according to their website...Wilson was dead on in saying my 11 year old Amana was like a car with 500,000 miles...it was an inefficient money pit. Apparently the others were more than willing to offer simple repairs, but they were only lasting a couple of days. Now I don't have to worry about it for another ten years!!! I was unsure of how Wilson was going to work out given what a few of the reviews state, but if someone comes out and tells you something too good to be true, like a cheap fix, it usually is!!! Pros: Personal, accurate service Cons: sometimes the truth hurts more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! 4/6/2010

Wilson Heating and Air is the WORST company I've ever been unfortunate enough to do business with. They sold us an A/C and heating unit that is not properly fitted for our house and are refusing to come back and service the unit. We had problems in the beginning with the unit being too loud and they refused to believe that there were any problems with the unit even though Seth, the owner's son in law, would admit that the unit did seem louder than it should be. They promised to come back to our house to ensure that all levels on the unit were safe and accurate for our house but instead are refusing to come fix it. They also said that when they came back, they would do some duct work to ensure that the house stayed evenly heated/cooled. Again, they are refusing to do anything. If i were you, I would stay as far away as possible from this company. They are certainly not going to be recommended by me to anyone I know nor am I going to continue working with them. I'm going to allow my lawyer to take charge from here on out. Cons: A bunch of liars and theifs! more

Stallers and Liars. 12/10/2009

Called them up around 8AM to get a water pipe which broke in my front lawn (At this point I have no access to water in my home), they quotes me as saying they'll be here between 10AM and 5 PM, so I took the day off work to wait. By 6PM no one stopped by, so I called up the technician and apparently there was a water heater leak in someones house and that took priority over my problem. So I rescheduled for the very next day and he quoted me at 8AM-9AM. Well it's 11AM right now so I called up the company, apparently their boss' house sprung a leak and (as I quote), ""That's using up all of our manpower"". Absolutely horrifying experience and 36 hours without water.? Cons: Terrible service, boss priority more

Great People 11/10/2009

Thanks Wilson 10/24/2009

Called over the weekend and spoke with Cynthia about about getting a repair man out asap. Within 3 hours unit was up and running and my daughters b-day party was way cooler than 87 degrees when we called thanks to Tech Shawn and Jimmy. more

Incompetent - Just looking for a quick buck 10/18/2009

I should have done more research before selecting Wilson Heating and Air Conditioning. To start - I did not receive a pre-appointment call from the tech as promised. Service technician just showed up between the ""PM"" hours they designated. Tech (ADAM) looked at our furnace and within 15 minutes determined we needed a new furnace and gave an immediate quote of $3,700.00. I was on the road so my wife put the technician on the phone. I immediately recognized the level of incompetence of the technician just by the way he described the ""problem"" and telling me the furnace was not safe, was over 10 years old and needed to be replaced. I had another company look at the furnace within 2 hours (A#1 Air & appliance) and the technician simply cleared out a line and had the furnace working within 10 minutes. The HONET company that ended fixing my furnace has earned an opportunity to be part of our remodel next spring which includes a new HVAC unit. RUN don't Walk away from Wilson H&AC. more

Questionable 7/16/2009

I bought a heater from Wilson five years ago, and an air conditioner four years ago. I had a problem with the heater last winter, and the service tech told me not to spend one more penny on the heater. He said it was old, and wasn't worth repairing. I informed him I bought it from THEM only five years before, and he kind of hemmed and hawed around after that. HUM. Either he is correct, and it's in bad shape, which means they sell junk that only lasts five years, or he was trying to convince me that I needed a replacement soon when I don't. The four-year old a/c I bought from them is now not working, so I'm calling a different repair co. this time. I just don't trust them anymore. They just lost a good customer. Cons: Either they sell junk or lie about appliance condition more

Trying scam customers 6/29/2009

The air conditioning stopped working and a tech from Wilson told me that I needed a whole new AC unit because mine could not be fixed, that parts were not available and it was a crappy unit. He gave me a $3400.00 quote. (He never even looked at the outside unit)\r Today another company came out and Josh fixed it for $125.00 by simply cleaning it. It works GREAT! \r This is an obvious rip off and deceptive business practicesand I hope no one gets burned by them. \r I am reporting them to the Better Biz Bureau.\r Cons: lied about what I needed more
