Wilson Air Conditioning

My furnace went out so I called Wilson's. They told me my main board was out and that a replacement cost 1400, they tried to upsale me to a new furnace (mine was 14 years old) for around 3200. Luckily I held off because I found the board for 300 and the furnace is now working great. Pros: Had good customer Interaction Cons: Way overpriced, Tried to get more work than needed more

I used Wilson's HVAC on two occasions. First time was fine. Guy checked the AC. Told me it was old but functioning properly. \r \r Second time, the blower motor went out on the furnace. I am selling the house in two months and changing out the whole furnace/ac system, although needed, is not an option. I told them on the phone the model of the unit, and asked them to quote me a price to change out the motor. They tell me they need to inspect the unit to get the part number. I agree to meet them at my house. When I arrive they aren't there, but when they do arrive it's clear they have already been there and let themselves into the backyard w/o permission. The guy looks at the furnace and tells me to change the motor (a $200 part) will be $2,500. He also tells me they wont do the job, but will sell me a new system for $5,000. A bit miffed as I was very clear on the phone what I needed them to do, and I left work to meet them for this pointless sales pitch, I tell the guy ""give me a quote with model numbers, and prices for parts and labor"". He gives me a $5,000 quote with no breakdown. When questioned I am told ""we don't give out that info"". It was clear to me that I was going to ripoffed by them with the cheapest unit being what they would likely install. I called at 11:30pm on a Saturday, because my home was not cooling properly, a actual Wilson employee answered the phone! A technician got out to my home about 1am. He told me the problem and had a gentlemen at my home on Sunday morning to repair my air condioner. It cost me a total of $425.00!! I was really impressed. Pros: Real employee answered the phone and came out to my home at 1am. more

I called WIlson Svc as my AC was not cooling enough. The guy came in, looked at the system for just 5 mins. Measured temperature and looked at my attic. He said the evaporator coils are mismatched and need to be replaced. A total of 5 mins work. He charged me $55 for each unit ($110) checked ... and this was just for the 5 minutes of work. No other measurements were made. He said the total cost to do the repairs would $4000!!\r \r I was shocked as the system has been running fine for 8 years and if the coils were not matched, it would have failed or been pointed out by someone else. \r \r I called Frymire and they checked it out and said there were no issues and the coils were matched to the condenser. The frymire guy added some freon and the system is working fine.\r \r I would not recommend Wilson Svc ...... more

My AC went out on July 4th Weekend and Wilson's came to the rescue. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a new unit in a hurry. My grandkids were visiting for the holidays and the were lifesavers. more
