Dr. Jiao has been my vet for 20 years. He is a wonderful ver. Kind and considerate and very professional. If you want someone that truly cares he is the vet to have. I would never consider going to someone else more

The worst vet. Please do not take your animal to Dr. Jiao. He is the worst vet I have ever seen. He abuses animals, I know that for a fact because I am close friends with someone who use to work for him. He doesn't fully go through with putting an animal to sleep, he injects them with a little serum, then when they are still half alive, he throws them in the freezer. He boards dogs without having a license to do so, and they are left for days without being walked. Terrible doctor, he should lose his license and business. If you love your pet do not take them to this vet!!!!! more

Dr. Jiao is a thoroughly knowledgeable and professional vet, as well as tremendously compassionate and caring. In the last 20 years, he has treated all my cat companions - who are more than cats to me. \r Fluffy was gently put to sleep in Jan., 2006 and Maggie on Nov. 10, 2012. I simply could not have gone through either deaths were if not for Dr. Jiao. Both times, he left the decision up to me while at the same time going through all the details surrounding their respective prognosis. \r He also let me stay with both - my choice, so they both went to the ""Rainbow Bridge"" knowing they were loved. \r Dr. Jiao's comfort during my crying (no, sobbing) was a tremendous gift - and one for which I am VERY grateful.\r \r PS: Even though it was a Sunday night, Dr. Jiao opened the hospital for me to bring in Maggie! more

I was a bit taken aback by some of the negative reviews,especially the ""dr. evil""one and the ""cat being hit by a car"". \r \r Though I use a homeopath vet most of the time, I've taken my cocker, now 6 years,on and off to Dr.Jiao since she was a puppy. \r \r I've ALWAYS known Dr. Jiao to be consistently caring, easily reachable no matter what the time, listens to me as the ""parent"", and respectful of the fact that I prefer a homeopath, and he, as the back up. He has no problem working in tandem with her, and of my decisions.\r \r When Boo was fixed at 6 months, Dr. Jiao gave her pain meds (many archaic vets, to this day don't believe animals need it), and, let me be with her almost immediately. \r \r I've talked to him at 2 a..m. when she ate a bar of chocolate, calming my hysteria, and remedying it within minutes,and made himself available throughout the night should I need it. \r \r That being said, it'd been a good 3 years since she'd seen him physically. Looking up the address, I perused the reviews,and shocked at the negative ones, I proceeded cautiously. Perhaps things had changed? I was about to find out.\r \r Not at all. Dr.Jiao remembered everything about Boo, me,and even joked with my husband about his guitar lessons without prompting the remembrance that he's a musician! His examination concluded what I'd suspected, which was more about diet, than incurring costs.\r \r In conclusion, my review is more in line with the positive ones, based on my experience - which has been absolutely consistent in the last 6 years. \r \r The only negative, which is also consistent, are some of the knuckleheads at the front desk. I was quoted $42.00 for the blood test, only to find out at checkout it was for the stool sample. The blood test was $135.00. - a good $100.00 more than quoted. But luckily, Dr.Jiao helped out when I complained. \r \r The age of web reviews is a double edged sword - one can avoid a terrible dentist, for example, but a disgruntled ex-employee can cause as much damage to a good one. Which is kind of what I suspect from the""anonymous"" reviewer. \r \r Here's my rule of thumb with reviews: If it's a negative, (or overwhelmingly but non-informatively, positive) see if they've given reviews elsewhere that seem objective. Or, if they've had more than one experience before giving the review. more

I have met Dr Jiao myself and I knew someone who used to work for him. They told me that Dr. Jiao boards animals without a license to do so and keeps the animals in inadequate conditions. This man is a veterinarian only for the money. Please do not take your animals to him! more

I took my Saluki to Dr. Jiao a few weeks back and he was wonderful! Very informative and helpful and I was suprised how much he knew about the breed. He had a sense of humor and took the time to answer my questions. \r \r I think people are really unrealistic of what a vet visit consists of. The vet is not there to answer 500 questions and spend 4 hours with each patient. People complain that they were ""rushed"" and these are the same people who take 12 years in front of you in line at the grocery store and have no regard for time and the given situation. Vets are there to see a patient, answer questions and then go on to the next patient. They have to manage their schedule and do not have time to sit with your ""fluffy"" all dang afternoon......\r \r Dr. Jiao has a personality that is quick, warm, funny and to the point. I can imagine people who are offended by a sense of humor and a vet that does not spend all afternoon on a single patient might be put off. But if you have a logical mind that understands that good vet care can also be quick and to the point, then he is your vet. He was helpful, smart and intelligent. more

I Got y dog from a shelter and took her to Jiao b/c a friend goes there. you'd think for a 1st time visit he would take soem time to answer all my questions -which i had on a piece of paper...but no! once got into the exam room we were in and out in 15mins and i was given a bunch of medications for my dog without any explanation as to how to use them or why i as given them.. later iasked some other dog walkers their opinion of Jiao...and they cringed and said he doesnt send lab work out he just gives u his educated guess as to whats wrong...and he hands out meds like they are going out of style! 9 ppl said the same thing! i spoke to him on the phone 3x afte the visit to see if he could clarify a bit more. he was rushing me AGAIN and on the3rd call he told me my dog had something else that he failed to inform me of. he didnt realize he never told me he just thought he told me the 1st time.. 300 buck later and i was not satisfied. so i wen to Beverlie Animal Hospital and saw Dr Raiti.. Dr Raiti is a great caring Vet! he took time to get know my dog on my 1st visit. he answered all questions i had and he expressed his concerns... he also took time to socialize with my dog! I was very happy with him and will be returning! the staff is amazing as well! I also found out the meds Jiao gave me did not take care of the type of parasites my dog has! Raiti was in the same price range but i walked tu with more knowledge and piece of mind. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND WHAT A HORRIBLE VET JIAO IS UPDATE- NOV 9 2011 I followed up w/ my new vet for yearly shots.he had the records from Jiao&told me that not only did the shelter give her a Bordetella shot in Dec 2010 but Jaio gave her another one in March 2011-which i wasnt aware of!He also gave her a Lyme shot which he never told me about.If you think Jiao is a saint, please do yourself a favor&each time you leave his office ask for a copy of the records from that days visit.He only gives you a receipt, not a list of what procedures were done.if he tells you he cant give them to you on the spot, stand your ground and tell him you want it NOW b/c he scribbles notes in the records when the visit is over.when he tells you he doesnt have the records ready it means he didnt keep track and is going to make something up. iT DOESNT HURT TO ASK PEOPLE.. i've had nothing but inconsistencies with this Dr. and i just want other pets to be safe more

Today while I was driving from the post office in fleetwood I saw a car hit a cat. I slammed on my brakes and tried to jumpout but it was right in fron tof the middle school so i had to wait to back up.i jumped out while other cars sill kep going nobody stopped or tried to get the driver who ran off. The cat was twitching and I thought it just needed to get up until Igot to the across the street and realized it was pouring blood from a head wound. I realized a vet was right across the street so I stop traffic and ran across the street when i got in side i asked for help i didnt want the cat to die or suffer but I didnt knwo what to do. They went into the vets office ame out an one of the girl came out with me but the cat had already died. she sent me for plastic bags so we could get him out of the street. when i ran back they two ladies at the front desk said ""no "" they werent giving me anything an dtell the other worker to come in they are calling mount vernon they arent picking up a cat on the street. the cat was gorgeous weighed more than my min pin so it was someones pet who possiblygot out by mistake !! The attitude and the fact they showed nocompassion and they are vets was the worse ! I have heard horrible things about this place and thats why for 5 years ive taken my dog to scarsdale or mount vernon ave !!! I think they are in the wrong business because i saw no compassion for thet porr cat from anyone besides myself and the one girl at the desk who helped me !!!20 thumbs down !!! more

Dr. Jiao is the best Vet I have ever seen. He was super courteous, very knowledgable, and awesomely friendly. He answered all my questions that I had about the very nerve racking experience of having two kittens. My mind feels much better. After weeks of research on the best vet, I'm happy that my first decision was the right decision. I would recommend anyone with a pet to go see this doctor right now. He is absolutely incredible. The office was incredibly busy and yet I still was seen quicker than I would have been at an empty human doctor's office. And then he apologized for the wait! What an incredible doctor. I vote 10 stars if I could. more

I have had many animals over the years and many vets too but Dr. Jaio is by far the most knowledgeable vet I have ever had. He gave my dog an extra 10 months of life after she was diagnosed in the late stages of DM (degenerative myelopathy). Many other vets had seen her and not one had diagnosed her correctly. He is always available even in an emergency and he never puts money before the welfare of an animal. I strongly encourage anyone who thinks their dog may have DM to make an appointment with Dr. Jaio because he gave my dog a treatment that no other vet even new existed or suggested. Unfortunately my baby eventually passed away but I have a new dog now and a couple of cats and he takes just as great care of them. He is extremely knowledgeable about animal medicine and has saved me money and heartache in his expert treatment of my pets on a number of occasions. Thank you Dr. Jaio! Dr. Jiao took wonderful care of my Rottweiler who had cancer. I will never forget the day my children and I had to put Nikki to sleep. If it wasn't for Dr. Jiao and his staff, we would have never been able to get through the rough times. He treated Nikki as if she was his own child. His kindness will never be forgotten and its been 6 years. I now have a parakeet and Dr. Jiao has even treated him for broken feathers which kept bleeding which was caused by the pet shop clipping his wings but my bird now flies all over the house. I first went to Dr. Jiao three years ago after trying to find a vet who cared and knew his or her stuff. His bedside manner is wonderful, he is competent, caring, has a sense of humor. I'm so glad he wears jeans - it shows he's not pretentious and that he relates to the animals that come to him. His advice has been the most informed and clear of any vet I've ever been to. I BEEN TO HIS OFFICE SO MANY TIMES, HE WAS RECCOMEND IT FOR MY FRIEND, I TOOK MY MOTHER CAT TO HIS OFFICE BECAUSE THE CAT EAT A BIG PIECE OF STRING, WE TOOK THE CAT A NIGHT BEFORE GOING TO HIS OFFICE TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM LOCATED IN TARRYTOWN ROAD, BUT THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY, THEY GAVE US A LIST OF THE PROCEDURES , AND THE AMOUNT WAS OVER 1000.00 THE CAT WAS ALMOST DEAD, NEXT MORNING WE CALL DOCTOR ROBERT BUT OFFICE, WAS CLOSE, HE WENT TO THE OFFICE HE CUT THE STRING, AND THE CAT SPEND THE NIGHT AT THE CLINIC, NEXT MORNING THE CAT WAS RECOVERING SO WELL,,, IT WAS A MIRACLE,,,,, THANKS DOCTOR Pros: BEST IN EVERY WAY more

Dr. Jiao is highly recommended ! He wears jeans...so who cares!.He is the kindest, most up to date, professional, courteous and CARES ! He loves animals and is the best Dr. God put to treat his animal angels on earth! his office is highly clean and sterile... he is growing his practice at a rather fast pace and his office/hospital is bursting at the seams due word of mouth new patients he is taking on!! God Bless You Doctor Jiao!!!!! ps-the girls are ladies and are on the extra phones due the overflow of new and existing patients...he wont say no to save lives and preven illness in our animal angels!! My cat Simba was near death this January from swallowing a very large amount of string. I sent him to be put down, but Doctor Jiao said give him a chance. Doctor Jiao worked on Simba for 1 week. Simba is now healthy and better than before. He kept me updated about his condition everyday. He is a REMARKABLE doctor. He really knows his business. Most of all I found him to be so caring and willing to help even if you couldn't afford it. Thank You soooo much for giving me my Simba back. GOD BLESS YOU! Pros: thumbs up all the way more

The Dr. cares so much about the animals he treats and knows exactly what he's doing. My pets have been going there for years, I had to put down my dog a few years back and he came in on his day off to do it, the dog was in so much pain and so weak.
