Where your pets are like family 2/13/2011

I was SHOCKED to see any negative reviews for this vet? until I actually read the reviews and comments. I hope all readers are looking carefully at what these people think this hospital did ?wrong?: they refused to kill a poor kitty just because it was having trouble pooping, they didn?t take out a tooth when it sounds like the person told them not to, they charge an emergency fee to take care of your dog?s broken leg right away the same as every other vet on Earth, they neuter your dog in much safer conditions than some back-alley chop-shop program for only a little more money, and they refuse to carry or recommend cheap & crappy heartworm pills or vaccines. I guess I?m missing what the problem is. The truth is that West Shore Animal Hospital treats my animals like they were my kids, and me like the worried mom that I usually am when I?m there. They are the Best, and to describe them as ?cold?, ?rude?, ?greedy? and ?disgusting? for the things people did is just absurd rubbish. more

Friendly, Caring and Professional! 2/13/2011

I visited West Shore Animal Clinic for the first time last week. From the minute I walked in with my cat I felt at ease. Both nurses pet and played with her and made us both feel comfortable. Dr. Dan Hebert was on schedule and we didn't have to wait to be seen. He was extremely professional and explained what he recommended for blood work, shots and preventative care. After we agreed on what would get done, his nurse (who was petting and holding my cat) took her in the back room which I thought was great because I didn't want to see my cat getting her blood work done. Dr. Hebert answered all of our questions and said he would be in touch with lab results once they came in. The results were emailed to me and I had a message from Dr. Hebert explaining them before I even got to work the next day! I am surprised there are any bad reviews on here based on my experience with such a great staff and accommodating office. I would recommend Dr. Hebert and his practice to anyone! more

Experienced and caring staff. A great visit! 2/13/2011

Dr Hebert and his staff has been caring for my cat the past two years and I must say that the visits to his clinic have always been very pleasurable and stress free. Dr. Hebert and his staff have always been very attentive to my pet's needs and provides some of the best veterinary care I have seen. more

My West Shore Animal Clinic Family 2/12/2011

I have been going to see Dr. Hebert when he worked at the Warwick Animal Hospital and when I found out he also worked at the West Shore Animal Clinic followed him there. When it comes to my dogs, no concern is to small or big. He has seen me through some difficult times with always my "babies" best interest at heart. Dr. Consiglio is also a peach always willing to look after my babies even if they are not technically her patients. As far as the vet staff, I cannot say enough about them. I can go in just to fill a script or buy some dog food, and their first question is always, is everything ok Mrs. Lalli? If I could change anything, it would be for them to call me Bobbie. Their care of my babies is exceptional and I would not have anyone else treat my babies. Some of my babies can be difficult but they treat them with the same affection and dedication that my better behaved dogs receive. I know from past experiance that difficult dogs do not always receive this kind of care which was how I found Dr. Hebert when one of my difficult dogs (Dusty) was not given the medical attention he deserved. In Dusty's defence, he had been abused prior to coming to me, had a bad ear infection, was in severe pain and did not want to be handled. I met Dr. Hebert during Dusty's last year of life and he could not have been kinder to Dusty or me when he had to give me the devasting news that Dusty was dying from lung cancer. He was compassionate, honest, and did not suggest expensive treatments that would prolong his life but he would have no quality of life. In short, I love my West Shore Animal Clinic Family and on most days more than I love my so called "real" family! more

Saved my dogs life!!!!! 2/11/2011

I have been bringing my Papillon their since we got her and have never had any problems. In fact, it is because of their amazing staff the she is still alive. When we brought her in for her annual three years ago, we mentioned that Jewels (our pup) had been having accidents all over the house including her bed which is very out of character. They immediately ran tests and determined that she was suffering from a type of kidney failure. Most pups her size do not live past 1 1/2 with this disease and Jewels was at that point 3. The doctors and staff went above and beyond to determine the best course of action, and put her on a special diet and medicine combination. I am ecstatic to say that Jewels will be 6 this summer and she is doing great. Not only will I continue to bring all my animals there, I would recommend them to everyone!! As far as prices, you get what you pay for. For the quality of care you receive, I think the prices are extremely reasonable!! more

Terrible 1/17/2011

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!! DR DANIEL HEBERT IS COLD, RUDE, ARROGANT & doesn't know anything about how to interact with pet owners. Brought my dog there to have teeth surgically extracted that were broken & he leaves a 3rd broken tooth in my dogs mouth because he assumed when I called back to say only remove the teeth that need to come out..he felt a broken tooth should stay?? so know I am forced to have my dog undergo another surgery, & it will not be there...My first call was to Cowesett Animal Hospital...I should have stayed with them.... more

The best of a bad situation. 12/3/2010

I just visited the clinic this morning. They were able to squeeze me in first thing, as it appeared my cat was experiencing a chronic renal failure crash. The staff was very compassionate and helpful, and Dr Hebert explained the situation clearly including all the options available to help me make the most humane decision. Unfortunately, I felt it was best to put my cat to sleep, and there was no pressure to drag out the process for profit. All in all, it cost $141 which I find very reasonable. more

Seriously? 11/26/2010

I really wish I had the same great experiences as everyone else here. The only good thing about this place is the head doctor and one sweet receptionist/vet tech. The rest of the staff is quite rude. They do not care about people or the pets, they only care about the money. more

Very friendly and professional staff 6/6/2010

I find the two vets and all the vet assistants to be very friendly and professional. They really do care about your pet and will tell you what's best and explain the procedures to you. The only downside is that the fees are higher that you will find at some smaller vets in other towns. more

Years Ago Pets Came First 5/17/2010

I used West Shore Animal Clinic for many years. Over the last few years I found that the prices were going up more & more each time I took my pet in for her annual. Once I wanted to buy just 3 months of the heartworm med and they would only sell me the one they had which was very expensive. I told them I would buy it on-line and they said "How do you know it's the real thing". I replied "How do I know yours is the real thing". I now buy everything on-line at Entirely Pets after getting the Script from my NEW VET. Also, I don't like the way they take the pets in the back for all testing. My New Vet does bloodwork etc right in front of me. Cons: Very Expensive-Non Caring more

Great Vet! 1/14/2010

We adored the entire staff at this animal clinic. They took such good care of our dog and were always able to work us in very quickly if our dog was sick. This is a great vet office to use if you live anywhere in Warwick (or beyond!) more

Awful, greedy, disgusting! 11/23/2009

My dog broke his leg last week at 3:00 in the afternoon. The office is open until 7, so you can imagine my shock when I called and was told they were "too busy" to see my dog, however they could squeeze me in, but it would be charged as an "emergency visit." To make matters worse, I found out it was actually CHEAPER to take my dog to one of the 24 hour emergency clinics. How can you tell someone you are too busy to see them, even though they are a PATIENT OF YOURS, and then tell them you in fact AREN'T too busy if they're willing to be a fortune. DISGUSTING. I think Dr. Hebert and whoever the other vet there is are absolute poor excuses for human beings and do not deserve jobs in a field that requires compassion and heart. These people don't deserve your money and they certainly shouldn't be trusted with your family members. Pros: NONE Cons: too many to list more

horrible experience 11/19/2009

in summer of 2007 my cat started getting constipated more

not the best by any means 9/16/2009

I have to say I took my first puppy here based on the great reviews it got. I will say that the front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The vet and techs are pretty friendly too. Since this was my first puppy I assumed that all vet bills were astronomical. However, when we got a FIVE HUNDRED dollar estimate to get our puppy neutured (who by the way is about 4 pounds) I knew I had to find someplace else. I found a low cost program that is going to cost 140$! I also pay 50 for the visit every time i go + 30 for a shot and I found a wonderful new vet with a small practice who chargers 40 for the visit WITH the shot included. I just feel absolutely taken advantage of by this place. The prices are absurd. We went in one day and had virtually nothing done to the dog and walked out 200$ poorer. The last thing that pushed me over the edge is when i called about a skin problem my puppy had and the woman at the desk told me the dr. would call me the next day when he was back in the office. I never got a call. Pros: extremely friendly front desk staff Cons: expensive and mediocre more

HIGHLY recommended animal hospital 1/20/2009

My wife & I had a beautiful lil' 13yr old Lhasa Apso named "Princess" which we always brought her to this facility for her check ups & varied shots, they always treated her & us with extreme kindness. Unfortunately, this past Nov 24th 2008, our lil' Princess passed away at home with her family around her. A few weeks after her passing, we received a box with a card from West Shore Animal Hospital & they took our princess's lil' paw & created a ornament using clay & placing her paw in it as a tribute for us to remember her by, & the entire staff signed the sympathy card stating how sorry they were about her passing because they had known her most of her life.\r \r I will recommend this facility to any & all who inquire about a good Vet to bring there animals to if needed. more

Took me a while, BUT I FOUND THE BEST 12/18/2008

I had been to 5 other Animal Hospitals before I found West Shore Animal Clinic. I have at last found a vet that cares more about my dogs than my checkbook. The entire staff at WSAC is fantastic, from the Doctors, to the Techs, to the Receptionists. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am with them all. Professional, Knowlegable, and Caring. I would and have recommende them to many friends, and all are very happy with the service.\r I recommend them very very highly more

Awesome Veterinarians 10/14/2007

I first met Dr. Hebert on Christmas day when my puppy had been sick for one month. Her former vet never diagnosed her condition correctly, and thus, she never got better. After Dr. Hebert treated my dog, I immediately changed veterinarians. more
