Tamir and Larry and Limor are amazing. They know their stuff and they are personable. They go above and beyond. I cannot count the number of times they have warned me about a possible drug interaction, or other concern about a medication. Or the number of times they have gone out of their way to contact a hard to reach doctor or take care of an emergency situation. They understand that medications can mean the difference between being healthy and being sick; mental collapse or stability; days spent in unbearable pain or being able to function. And they do their very best to make sure that a customer gets what they need as quickly as possible. It is true they know who their customers are. But more importantly they know about the effects of the drugs they dispense. This is where they are miles above the chain and mail order pharmacies of this world. Will a doctor tell you that your elderly grandmother with renal failure might be get a heart arythmia from medicated pads that go on her feet? No. But Tamir made sure to warn me to be on the look out for it. Will a chain pharmacy remind you that your antibiotic cannot be taken within three hours of an antacid? No. On the other hand West Knoll has never canceled my prescription because they did not understand the doctor's instruction for use of the medication. (Take twice a day). My insurance companies mail order pharmacy did just that. West Knoll would have called the doctor and cleared up any questions. And I would have had the meds in a timely fashion. They are closed on the weekends. But they are worth waiting for. more

Overall, I really like the chain drugstore CVS and find them to be friendly and helpful but I do agree that they are not fast and often prescriptions are not ready when they are supposed to be. Normally I can deal with this since they are fantastic retailers and I just get some shopping done while I wait. I've been going to see Larry and Tamil for years after being referred there by my doctor (whom I also think is the best in town) and have always found them to be no less than awesome! I recall being immensely impressed with their personable customer service in that they knew me by first name from the start. The minute you walk in the front door, they acknowledge you and welcome you by first name....how awesome is that! They are always inquisitive on how my life is going and if I'm feeling well and they mean it! It's not just some BS lip service. I think they may know every customer on a first name basis and they must have thousands of customers. Geez, I can't remember people's names that I've met numerous times. Like I said, I like CVS and can usually tolerate their lack of personal service until recently. A few months ago, I had a prescription filled and forgot to pick it up at first and it was about 2 weeks before I finally stopped by only to find out that they ""returned"" it. What!?! and it would take them 2 days to refill it. What!?! I thought that was really strange after 14 days and with no phone call or anything. When I told Larry about it he said they would NEVER do that without calling me first to remind me or to ask if I didn't need it anymore. Then last week I had a lower back flare up and was literally crippled in pain for 2 days before my Dr called in something for relief. I told him to call it in to CVS because it was closer to work. Even though it was requested and confirmed to be urgent and would be ready by noon for pickup, when I went it wasn't ready (at 1pm!) and wouldn't be until after 5pm because they were too busy. I couldn't believe it - I was in terrible pain and now had to wait 6 more hours!!!! I was so disgusted I called my Dr. and he said he would call Tamir & Larry and they would get it transferred from CVS. I swear about 15 minutes later, Larry called and said it was ready for pickup with them.... God bless them! Even though they aren't open on weekends, I am committed to giving these guys as much of business as I can. If you don't like your pharmacy...heck! even if you do like your pharmacy, this one will steal the show - trust me!! Pros: Friendly, personable, fast, knowledgable, abundantly helpful more

First of all I must say that this is the first review that I have ever written. Second, I get sick at least a few times a year unfortunately and I take daily medications. Thus, my local pharmacy is part of my monthly agenda. When I first moved to West Hollywood I was so excited to find that there was a CVS/LONGS close to my apartment. But, every time I went to the pharmacy to get one of my meds filled it was a disaster! They never had them ready for me and even if they did they would ignore me for about 20 mins while they helped clients on the phone. I tried everything to make THEIR job easier. But they continued to make me feel like I was a burden to them. I would tell them that I had been waiting 45 min and the manager would tell me they are short staffed. Are they short staffed everyday? They would tell ME to calm down and HAVE A SEAT (said with rudeness) when I am dying of discomfort and need my medications. One day I had to go to Sunset Urgent care and they sent the meds to be filled at West Knoll Pharmacy, gave me a map, and sent me on my way. Little did I know that this was going to change my life. When I arrived in the pharmacy they asked me if I was from Sunset Urgent Care. They said they had my meds all ready to go and just needed my insurance information. I am not being dramatic....I really wanted to cry. They were so nice, caring, understanding, helpful, and communicate what is going on.I told them about my experience with the CVS and LONGS chain pharmacy and they offered to call them to have my meds transfered. I didn't have to do anything. It was amazing...another thing is that i never feel like they are being fake with me or being nice because they have to. it is very refreshing. Since then I have become a firm supporter of the small businesses in my area. I go to the pet store next to West Knoll Pharmacy instead of the Pets Mart Chain and I go to small hardware stores instead of Home Depot. I have found that they care, they know what they are doing and the products they are selling. I have also developed a relationship with the pharmacy on a first name basis. I have converted my boy friend to the pharmacy whom has also had the same experience as myself. If you are new to the area or if you are unhappy with the corporate chain service at your current pharmacy come to West Knoll Pharmacy. They look after you and are here for you. They will never be annoyed by your concerns or questions and they are always respectful of your privacy. Yes- they are closed on the weekends but, it is a very small price to pay for the service and care I receive. West Knoll, thank you so much. You are like family to me. more

Tamir and Larry have been helping me since the year 2001. They have always been most helpful and professional, and have never kept me waiting for days on end like some of the chain stores. Larry and Tamir (sp?) are the two most wonderful pharmacists I have ever come in contact with. They are always extrememly kind and will go out of their way to accomodate and be helpful. Even though Husband and I moved to East Hollywood, we still go out of our way to get our prescriptions filled here. Highly recommended. more
