great shopping experience 4/5/2012

i went into warrendale appliance about a week ago looking to get my parents a few housewarming gifts that they needed. the owner, allan, gave me a great deal for a new 42 inch LED tv, a glass top stove, and a brand new top of the line bosch dishwasher. i purchased them, allan told me that the appliances would be delivered about 2 days later. i was more than pleased when a saleswoman named erica called me confirming a time and made sure i would be at my parents house. when the delivery men showed up, they were very nice and handled the appliances very carefully, and not one of them was damaged. i was very impressed with warrendale appliance, especially the customer service. i will most definitely be back for more great deals. thanks warrendale! more

Under New Ownership! 6/5/2011

My parents needed a new dishwasher so after doing some research I chose a Bosh model and searched for a competitive price near by; Warrendale Appliance had it at a good price. more

Great Experience 5/13/2011

Today, I went into Warrendale appliance looking for a refrigerator. Granted its not something anyone shops for too frequently, I really didn't know much in regards to brands, features, and reliability. I like the intimate, small store experience and figured they'ld be the best place to start. There were two salespeople present, the younger of the two greeted me first and started showing me around. For a younger gentleman, he was surprisingly very knowledgeable about the different brands, features, and customer service. When he excused himself to answer the phone, the older salesman introduced himself and began helping me. Right away, i could tell he was very experienced. He was familiar with all of the products with the pros and cons of each. Neither salesman ever pressured me nor pushed me to buy a certain one, they were only interested in finding the right one for ME! If i was already happy enough with the service and price, they tell me I get an additional $150.00 off in rebates AND get it delivered the NEXT DAY! Overall, i walked in relatively blind and undecided. However, when i left, i felt happy and confident i made the right choice at and even better price. Definitely will be back. more

WONDERFUL SHOPPING TRIP 5/13/2011

Today my wife and I went looking for laundry machines and found Warrendale Appliance on the internet and on the web site it say ""Come see what we do right"" The new owner Allan was there and one salesman Bill. The both men paid close attention to our needs and sold us a washer and dryer . The best part of the deal was paying the store had a $50 instant rebate on the washer a $75 instant rebate for buying the pair then a senior citizens discount and then a $100 mail in rebate the laundry pair was less than $1000 delivered and set up. I have never written a review before but I just had to congratulate this place in the customer service and deals I give an A ++++ more

Horrible Customer Service 11/4/2010

I ordered a refrigerator on Monday, spending a large sum of money, on Thursday it was delivered severely damaged the delivery man stated I should not accept as it looked crushed. I called Warrendale to let them know I was refusing delivery and would need a replacement immediately since I had already given my old one away. Alan, told me he could not get one to me until Monday, he could loan me one but couldn't deliver it. I told him this was unacceptable and wanted to cancel order, he stated I needed to come in to credit my card and that I would never find one by Monday. I drove down there and neglected to bring original bill, but assumed they would have a copy in computer...NO he wanted original, drove back home, call Sears order new refrigerator, less price more options, better service reputation and delivery was for Saturday with an on call for Friday due to my circumstances which I had explained to salesman. Drove back to Warrendale, presented receipt and was told I could pick up the refrigerator at store tomorrow, we are talking about at big Whirlpool frenchdoor, bottom freezer, how the heck was I, a single woman, going to pick up and bring into my house. He did a full refund and I have made a vow NEVER to go back there, I am going to be purchasing a dishwasher and oven over the next few months and was going to use them, but not now. Over the years my parents and I bought every appliance from there, we have our own family business and feel it's right to keep the little guy going, not any more. They have lost their personal touch and have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE skills whats so ever. In this economy, customer satisfaction keeps people open and out of bankruptcy, sad to say if they continue this way I won't be surprised to see a going out of business sale! more

Response to Lpaige 9/1/2010

It is shameful that some people lack the social graces of telling the truth. I have worked at Warrendale for 12 years. I take great pride in my work and usually know of each customer comments on a personal level. Most of our customers are honest and have no need to hide behind blogs nameless. Lpaige did buy a washer he did pay a great price $250 for a Bosch washer after rebate. Where the story goes off track is the customers old washer was rusty covered in grease and falling part and still connected (washers must be disconnected ) Our drivers could not carry the machine safely. The customer had a half door going out of his basement and his wife did not want the old washer traveling thru her clean home. So given the conditions of the stair way the half door and the washer the drivers made the decision that they could not remove the washer the way it was( the drivers like removing they get paid more and get the old piece to sell for junk) The customer demanded yelling that he should be given an answer of when we would remove the old machine not taking any responsibility for his delivery conditions. ...more more

Insanely Bad Service 8/13/2010

My wife and I like to support local stores, so we headed to Warrendale instead of a big box store to purchase a new washing machine. During the sales process, they were a little odd. Not a great shopping experience and the prices were higher than Sears or Best Buy. We bought our new washing machine during a state-run stimulus package deal under which we would get a rebate for replacing our appliance with a more energy efficient one. To qualify, the dealer had to remove and recycle the old appliance and sign a form certifying that it had been done. The problems start when the washing machine is delivered. The delivery guy starts moaning about the narrow hallways and doors (this is new england where many old homes have narrow doors and hallways). It's clear he doesn't want to deal with removing the old washing machine, so he starts rocking it back and forth until one corner of the cover comes loose. At this point he says he can't remove it because it might ""fall apart."" He said he'd have to send someone back because he doesn't have a strap to secure the washing machine one the truck. We ask when that will happen and he said. I don't know, you'll have to call to find out. Annoyed we call the dispatcher who tells us we need to call the store. The store says call the dispatcher. We inform them that we have and they instructed us to. Store says, ok, I'll call them and call you back. The rest of the day passes with no call back. The following day nobody calls, so we finally call in the late afternoon and ""Alan"" the sales rep supposedly helping us is gone for the day. Annoyed, but still thinking this will eventually be resolved we let it go for the day (a Friday). The following day is a Saturday and we are in the neighborhood running errands. We figure we'll stop in the store to get the issue straightened out. We walk into the store and an older gentleman is sitting behind the counter staring at a computer. We wait and wait for him to acknowledge our presence. He never does, so I say hello. He looks up and with a lot of attitude says, ""what?"" I ask if Alan is in. He says, ""no"" and goes back to his computer screen. I say, ""well maybe you can help us"" and begin to describe the situation. He say, ""yeah, yeah, the washing machine that's in pieces..."" I respond that it's actually not in pieces that the driver just needed a strap to secure the washing machine. He brushes me off saying, I don't really know anything about it, I'M JUST THE OWNER. I said, ""oh good, you're the owner, you'll be able to help us."" He then completely loses it and starts shouting and screaming with spit coming out of his mouth. He storms around the counter and screams in my face to get the ""F"" out of his store. I'm completely floored and don't know what to say. I asked, ""you're the owner?"" ""Why are you screaming and swearing at me?"" He tells me again to get out of his store or he'll call the police. I told him to be my guest and he storms over to the phone and pretends to call, then before speaking slams down the receiver and storms back over to me shouting swearing, calling me an ahole, and telling me to get the f out of the store. He's on a wild rant, storming around the store, slamming things around. At one point he goes into the back office and I truly think he's going to get a gun. My wife is petrified and says, let's get out of here. As we're heading to the door in a state of shock he comes flying back out, screaming and swearing again. He comes at me with a raised fist and screams GET OUT!!! At this point he's standing between my wife and the door. I ask him to step aside so she can leave. I'm really frightened that he's going to hit me or my wife. He was totally unhinged. We finally leave and he comes back shouting at us across the parking lot and then slams the door. The problem was only resolved after we called our credit card and stopped payment until the old machine was removed. more

Warrendale Appliance ~ Just what you need and friendly service too! What more could you ask for? 12/6/2008

I needed a microwave for my Dad. He needed something easy to run. I didn't want to go to the mall. I wanted to go to a local, reputable merchant, so I went to Warrendale Appliance. I told them what I needed and got exactly what my Dad would want. There was no pressure. They are friendly, great service & the microwave brought to my car. Thanks! What more can I ask for? Thanks again and I'll definitely go back!! Pros: great, friendly service and helpful with bringing purchases to the car Cons: can't think of a thing more

THE BEST APPLIANCE STORE IN THE AREA 12/2/2008

I'm so happy that I went in to this store. It's like a step back in time when the store keepers really wanted to help the customer. I found the refrigerator and stove that I needed the delivery was quick and accurate. The salesman was happy and helpful and he even answered all of my questions regarding the February TV change. I KNOW I have found a place to buy my new LCD TV and every other appliance I may need. This store is a great find. Pros: Worth the trip more

a great experience 9/24/2008

I don't know what some of these other reviewers are talking about; I shopped around at several other area stores before buying a new fridge (including the big chain stores) and found the staff at this store to be way more knowledgeable and helpful then anywhere else--and the prices were better too. My refrigerator was delivered right away and I will definitely go back again. Definitely recommended. more

AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING RIPPED OFFF 9/11/2008

This is an extremely bad place. Do NOT make the same mistake I made in trying to support a local business. They will undoubtedly fail before long given their business practices. I have bought several appliances from them and initially had good service. Recently it was a disaster. These folks LIE. They overcharge you. They will attempt to portray themselves as superior to home depot. But they will charge you for things that home depot delivers free----like your appliances! Both owner and manager are incredibly rude to customers. Thye absolutely do not deserve your business. Cons: Absolutely the worst service you will encounter in attempting to buy a major appliance more

Great customer service and selection 8/4/2008

It was refreshing to go to a local store and find great prices and helpful salespeople. Going to the big stores has been a nightmare in the past! I was surprised how competitive Warrendale's prices were. The salesman I worked with was knowledgeable and straightforward about finding the best refrigerator for the best value -- I ended up going back for a dishwasher and air conditioner and was very satisfied! Pros: Local Business more

WORST SERVICE EVER - AVOID AT ALL COST- ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE 6/18/2008

I went to warrendale appliance to support local business. I needed an over the stove microwave oven and they found one on line from the company they deal with. The personality of the saleperson was minus zero and he did not acknowledge I was standing at the desk for quite some time. I do not know much about installing appliances so I want on the recomendation of the man installing the oven. When he was instaling the oven he saw that there was not enough space between the stove and the microwave to cook so I brought the microwave back to the store. He said it was not his fault, that the measurments were correct and I do not need to cook with large pans. He also did not tell me that it was a dicontinued item that could not be returned to the company so he was not going to take the loss. He has stuck me with a useless appliance costing me $350.00 and he called me a liar and told me to leave his store. He has no interest in customer service and he does not care after he gets your money. He has a seven day return policy but he cannot leave you stuck with an appliance that can not be used. I hope everyone reads these reviews before they even think of walking in the door. He should be shut down. Pros: no pros. DO NOT ENTER THE STORE. Cons: NO SERVICE, SCREW THE CUSTOMER IS THERE SLOGAN. more

Horrible Customer Service - RUDE STAFF 3/1/2008

I walked in to buy a $35 water filter for my fridge, thinking I might as well support a local business instead of picking it up from Sears like I usually do. So I hand the guy the box from the old filter purchased at Sears and ask him if he has this filter. He replies, ""We're not Sears."" I said, ""I know, I don't care if it's a Kenmore brand filter, I just need one that fits."" So we find the right filter and go to the register. I had him my credit card and hes asks for my phone number, which I give him. Then he wants my address so I politely decline, explaining that I would prefer not to give my address. He argues, ""We kind of need your address since you're paying with a credit card."" I tell him that's not necessary to run the card. Says argues. I say fine, I'll pay cash. I pay and he does not give me a receipt, so I ask for one. He starts laughing loudly and says ""Dude, you told me you didn't want a receipt."" I explain that I did not say I didn't want a reciept, just that I did not want to provide all of my information. Next he says he can't produce a receipt without all of my info. I tell him then forget it, no big deal, and wallk out. Not worth my time. Absolutely unbelievable. more

terrible service 10/9/2007

The goofball with glasses at front is so uninterested that he looks like he is tired out from ""pulling it"". On the other hand, he probably had not got l - id in weeks! No service or much knowledgeable help. We were ""on our own"" since the guy was semi-rude and useless./ Cons: you name it more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HARD TO SAY THIS ABOUT ANY STORE BUT ITS TRUE. 6/13/2007

Aviod it like the plague 5/29/2007

Only good thing was fast delivery. Price was higher than Home Depot sale price. Staff if rude, and not interested in customer satisfaction. Support after the sale is worse. I will never do business with this company again Pros: fast delivery Cons: Staff there is rude more
