I walked in to buy a $35 water filter for my fridge, thinking I might as well support a local business instead of picking it up from Sears like I usually do. So I hand the guy the box from the old filter purchased at Sears and ask him if he has this filter. He replies, ""We're not Sears."" I said, ""I know, I don't care if it's a Kenmore brand filter, I just need one that fits."" So we find the right filter and go to the register. I had him my credit card and hes asks for my phone number, which I give him. Then he wants my address so I politely decline, explaining that I would prefer not to give my address. He argues, ""We kind of need your address since you're paying with a credit card."" I tell him that's not necessary to run the card. Says argues. I say fine, I'll pay cash. I pay and he does not give me a receipt, so I ask for one. He starts laughing loudly and says ""Dude, you told me you didn't want a receipt."" I explain that I did not say I didn't want a reciept, just that I did not want to provide all of my information. Next he says he can't produce a receipt without all of my info. I tell him then forget it, no big deal, and wallk out. Not worth my time. Absolutely unbelievable.
