The Best 2/11/2011

I can't say enough good things about this salon. I have been all over Indy trying to find the right stylist. I have gone to some of the most expensive shops and they do not come close to this place. Danita, my stylist, is just super. She knows my hair better than I do. She is an awesome stylist whether you just want a cut or want to add color. Her personality is light and bubbly. Of course that goes for the rest of the crew. For the best hair experience at great prices you owe it to yourself to check them out. Tell them Anne H sent you more

Fabulous nails by Mai! 2/10/2011

I've been getting my nails done for about 15 years, and I had a great manicurist for about the first 7 years, and I followed her around town to wherever she worked. Then, sadly, she moved to California. I spent the next 6 or 7 years hunting for a good manicurist who wouldn't hurt me (several had made me bleed!), paid attention to what I wanted/needed, and with whom I could feel comfortable. Mai is the answer to a pampering prayer. I usually only get my nails done, and she does a fabulous job, and they last for weeks! I've also gotten pedicures from other people a few times in the past but never felt completely comfortable about having it done. I've gotten pedicures from Mai about 3 or 4 times and every time, she makes me feel relaxed, comfortable, calm, and pampered. She is thorough and professional, and my nails look great every time--but she can also be a friend! The only thing I love more than Mai, is the Shellac polish she uses. I have never had a manicure last so long, it is amazing. And if you want someone who is a perfectionist and will give you an honest opinion on what to do with the color mixing, she is your woman! Thanks Mai! more

A Great Experience for both hair and nails! 1/10/2011

I have been seeing Danita at the White The Art of Hair for the past 2 years. She takes the time to understand what you want and will make suggestions for making your hairstyle even better. She recently completely changed my hairstyle. I was having a hard time working with it, so she sat me down in her chair, asked me exactly how I was styling it and then showed me what I was doing wrong. She actually had me use the flat iron on myself and her to get a better feel for using it correctly. That was all I needed to get the hairstyle to work for me and I've had plenty of compliments to prove it. Heather will take the time to answer any questions you have and if you are having any problems, will gladly share her experience with you. She also has an excellent manicurist and her name is Mai and the word is out about her, so call in advance to schedule an appointment as she books up quickly. Mai does all natural nails in shellac, gels and acrylic and uses a new sterile tub for each pedicure…no gross bubbly chair tubs! more

Wild for White The Art of Hair 12/18/2010

After a tragic botch job at a local salon (I won’t mention any names), my co-worker turned me on to Danita and I’ve NEVER turned back. I walked in as a bleached Q-tip mess and walked out with the perfect shade of blonde…and might I add a very hot cut as well, thanks to Danita. Danita is the master of blonde…period! Her technique is natural, current and always cutting edge. I’m still a platinum blonde and my hair is the healthiest it’s ever been after a year and a half. Their stylists take the time to consult with you prior to your appointment to make sure they understand the exact look you are trying to achieve. They are extremely flexible with scheduling and are exceptionally friendly, but honest. I get nothing but complements on my hair. I constantly refer my friends, family and co-workers and they’ve all had the same result…100% SATISFACTION! more

Great hair and wonderful service 11/28/2010

I don't agree with review below. Every time I visit I am always greeted with a smile and always accommodated. Danita is the nicest salon owner! I do my high lights and color here along with weekly blow drys and have never had a bad experience! I recommend anyone in the neighborhood to give this place a try. Danita is a top notch colorist though everyone there is so professional that I can trust anyone to make my hair look pretty and sleek. more

NO Common Sense, Customer Service and Haughty!! 11/19/2010

The great reviews MUST be from the owner and staff. The owner and staff here have NO CLUE on customer service and common sense on how to deliver customer service. And they're VERY haughty! Come on! This is Indy. Get over yourself! Taking my business elsewhere! more

Fabulous Nails 11/11/2010

So I've been to all the usual suspects in the city trying to find a nail tech who knows what they are doing. I'd pay any amount of money for my cuticles not to fray after 2 days and for my polish to stay on for at least 5 days. Now I don't have to offer my first born any longer...Rescued by White Lush Salon and Mai! A few things about this salon stood out to me. First and foremost it's extremely hygienic. You get your own pedi/mani pack opened right in front of your face, they don't use Jacuzzi/Pedi tubs, as they harbor bacteria, they use a antibacterial liner and everything (towels etc..) are warmed to a bacteria killing temperature before being placed on your skin. The quality of the mani/pedis is outstanding. The Pedicure set the bar for phenomenal pedicures. It was the most relaxing, invigorating soothing pedicure I've ever received. My feet are as soft as a baby's. My nail technician Mai was polite and meticulous. She expertly applied Deborah Lippmann polish, rid my nails of cuticles, and shaped my nails perfectly. On top of that she gave me the best leg, foot and hand massage. The polish still looks great! more

Amazing color! 11/2/2010

For years I have been going to the same stylist in Broad Ripple, but last month I wasn’t able to see my stylist due to major scheduling conflicts so I went to White Lush, a cute trendy salon in Keystone at the Crossing. Never in my life have I received more compliments on my hair color then last month when I got it highlighted. The next day I felt like a super model as numerous people commented on how good it looked. They didn’t do anything drastically different from my previous color job, but the consistency and natural balance of the colors was perfect. Since then I have referred many of my friends and all have thanked me profusely for introducing them. The prices are reasonable and the salon is super cute and has a very friendly and talented staff. So if you want an amazing color job in a comfortable environment by a kind, talented, colorists, go see them today! more

ELLE Magazine brought me here! 10/27/2010

I live in the area and after reading about the salon in last months ELLE magazine I stopped in to buy some of their amazing products! Anyway, after chatting with a couple of the girls I ended up staying to get my hair colored and I'm very happy I did! The girls that work there are so nice and really love what they do! Do yourself a favor and check this salon out- I couldn't be happier :) See you in 4 weeks ladies! more

Very accommodating, quality products, excellent salon! 10/21/2010

I have been a client for almost a year now and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. I get my hair cut and colored by Danita and she is phenomenal. I am very shy and quiet by nature but she is so friendly that I feel like I am just talking with a friend. Salon- The salon itself is quite pretty- open and airy with hardwood floors.. You can tell this is an upscale salon but it doesn't have that upscale snobby feel. The minute you enter you are offered a drink and made to feel at home. This is great for people like me who feel intimidated by salons and spas. The movies on the tv are a nice touch for those times you are getting your hair colored or just don't feel like chatting. The magazine selection is top notch. I have found them to be very accommodating when it comes to making an appointment- they opened early one time for me which was just AWESOME and a great example of customer service. Cut and color- Danita really listens to what you have to say and actually takes your face shape and styling limitations into consideration when discussing a style with you. My hair is very thick and wavy and can be very hard to style if it isn't cut just so but she always makes my hair look fantastic and the cut lasts forever! I have a pretty busy life so I don't want to spend a lot of time on my hair and she takes that knowledge into account when she cuts my hair. The last time she cut my hair (graduated bob that just looked awesome) I received a ton of compliments. What an ego boost! I also have a very sensitive scalp and when I would get my hair colored at other salons my scalp would be very irritated, almost burned. The color is very rich and quite natural, which means a lot for a graying 35 year old woman. This studio is a bit pricy but I really feel you get what you pay for here. You don't have to worry about the cut or color looking raggedy after 6 weeks which is a plus in these economic times. Give this place a shot, you will be glad you did. more

Some Kind of Wonderful! 9/17/2010

I have been Danita’s client for 17 years and not once known how to explain what I wanted. No matter. She has happily shaped vague clues and total trend illiteracy into haircuts that consistently generate unsolicited compliments. She rocks. In response to a previous comment about her not caring about new clients... Pshaw! I must have sent her a dozen referrals over the years, all of whom had the same positive experience. If you're looking for a hairdresser who puts on a show and acts like an obsequious servant (e-e-w-w-w-w) go elsewhere. But if you want someone who cares about what you want, knows her stuff, and on whom you can rely, be glad you found her.? more

Great Salon, Great Staff, Great Work 8/31/2010

I was on my way to see a friend and got stuck at a train crossing. After sitting there 3 minutes and staring at the bright yellow banner on the corner which said "Hate Those Gray Roots?", I couldn’t stop thinking about my shabby hair with the faded highlights, grey roots, and dull color. I called my friend and told her that my car broke down and to go to the movie without me and then I pulled into the lot and went in to Lush Salon. The salon was busy for a Wednesday and I asked if it was at all possible to squeeze me in for some major work. I know that the gal behind the desk wanted to help, but I could see the schedule on the computer screen and I knew that no one had a good block of time right then. She got Lexi who asked me bluntly: "If I apply your color and Adrian takes over in an hour, would you be OK with that?" I saw the gal that Adrian was working on and the lady who just got out of the chair and they looked great, so I agreed to be 'spread across the staff' and that is what happened. Lexi started me off, Adrian stepped in, and finished the blow-dry and flat iron and that was it.... I was now a Lush client for life. My husband almost didn’t recognize me and he took me out for dinner just to show me off to the world. I do not know who to give credit to, so it goes to the entire staff at the salon - I never saw a group of stylists work so well together and get along. The other clients seemed like they were all family and the place was just fun to be in. You are the BEST!!!!!!! more

Great Experience, Fun Staff 8/9/2010

I came to Lush The Art of Hair with a gift certificate from my boyfriend and I expected them to be somewhat hoity-toity due to their television and fashion magazine exposure and such. I can't believe that people have negative things to say about this place... I have been here several times and have had nothing but a positive experience every time! I consider my hair to be hard to manage and since I started going, I have loved my hair. Danita is awesome, she has cut both longer and shorter length styles on me and both are equally amazing. She listens to what I want and makes suggestions to what will work on my hair. The atmosphere is cool, the people who work there are friendly and take great care of you while you are there. Even the girl at the front desk who I initially thought was snooty ended up being really nice and complimentary and made recommendations on products that she likes. I love going there a little early and flipping through a magazine while I wait.. Everyone should experience this unique and welcoming salon experience. more

My new favorite Place!! 7/28/2010

This is my first time writing a review but the experience at the salon made it worth it. From the moment you walk in you feel comfortable and welcomed. Even my husband was pampered with some refreshments and he wasn't getting anything done. All of the employees were very friendly and attentive. The salon gives the impression of a very upscale place but the prices are very competitive. I went to Danita for the second time and she is very friendly and chatty. I enjoy her company and my haircut is Very Cute! She seems very detail oriented and I have the best ...best highlights and low lights ever. She has earned my loyalty. I'm not a fan of going to the salon religiously but if I was, this is the place to go. Pros: Every aspect of the salon exceeded my expections Cons: Location is a bit tricky more

Terrible customer service, great stylists, very rude owner 7/10/2010

Should you sacrifice customer service and respect for the customer for a good haircut? That is the question you’ll have to ask yourself if you go to Lush Art of Hair Salon. I have always believed that customer service improves with cost of your purchase. Compare the sales associate at Saks Fifth Avenue with the cashier at Wal-Mart. Working with the owner of Lush is like shopping at Saks with Wal-Mart’s cashier as your customer service. She showed very little regard for the customer, and was blatantly rude, defensive, and condescending. Is a great haircut worth $400, and dealing with Cruella DeVille? Your call. (oh, and a week of phone tag when you want to make an appointment, since they are apparently too cheap to have a receptionist and make a policy of not answering the phones. Say “hi” to the answering machine!) Pros: great stylists will give you a great result Cons: Unnecessarily expensive (a cut & color cost me $350); and... more

Professional, Expensive, Hair Loss Experts! 7/9/2010

I have been working with other salons on hair loss and have found Lush The Art of Hair to be the best (and most expensive) to date. I do, however, have a problem with their cancellation policy and slowness in returning calls. Pros: Experts on hair loss Cons: Expensive, cancellation policy. return calls more

Fabulous Haircut and Eyebrow Wax 6/7/2010

I am new to Indianapolis and fretted over where to get my haircut...I had driven by Lush the art of hair several times and decided to try it! It was no trouble getting an appointment...I called on a Friday and got in on Tuesday. The receptionist was very friendly and offered me tea/water while I waited for my treatments to begin. The eyebrow wax was an experience in itself...a seemingly painful procedure was actually pleasurable... After my eyebrows were nicely waxed (3 weeks later they are still perfect), Danita took me back for my haircut. I showed her pictures and told her about my hair...she listened very well and gave me her thoughts too. Then she gave me an amazing scalp massage using some Kerastase products. Long story short...she was so friendly, helpful, and obviously talented...I LOVE MY HAIRCUT! I will be going back to see her for sure and I look forward to it... Pros: friendly, helpful staff Cons: none more

All my dreams fulfilled! 5/13/2010

I just have to share it with the world..this is the best salon in town! I mean everything from the front desk gal greeting me with a big smile and asking to take my coat and offering me this amazing Tea(fantastic by the way) to the great Stylist (Danita) who ...well all I can say is I have been to a lot of salon in hopes to find someone who can understand the complexity of my wavy hair and she nailed it...it has never been so manageable and behaved so well and the Kerastase products I just love how they make my hair feel! Oh and I forgot to mention the great scalp massage they do...out of this world...you just have to go and experience this place for yourself! Every one there is very knowledgeable on products ...I of course had lots of questions about hair & skin products and between Danita and the front desk gal they were able to get products to help me in both of my areas of concern and I just have to say they were right on with their recommendations I love all the products I bought and they work! So go now Right Now and get an appointment you won't be sorry. more

Great Hair Salon for women with hair loss 4/28/2010

My hair was extremely thinned out in the front. I also had a small bold spot in the back. I went to Lush Hair Salon, and Danita was able to look at me, and recommend something in my budget. After the process, which took around 4 hours, I looked amazing. My husband was so happy when I got home, we had a great night that night, if you know what I mean. My coworkers were shocked how great I look. Thanks so much, I am a new woman, I can't thank you enough. Pros: Hair Loss options are amazing more
